Seiyuu Yuka Imai has announced her retirement on her blog on Thursday. She has not specified the reason for her retirement but stated that she would like to help support her family "at her own pace." She had hard time making this decision and that it was taken "for a better future." She also thanked everyone for the support.

Imai previously announced last May that she was taking a hiatus from voice acting to care for her three-year-old son, who was diagnosed with a PDD. She said that she would return after a "good foundation" was built for her son. She also divorced two months after the previous announcement because her husband was not being a reliable father for their son.

Imai's first seiyuu job was Yamarin from Kirameki Mori no Yanta-kun. Some of her notable roles are Yu Hayakawa from Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Rio Kinezono from the Burn Up series, Scarlet Ohara from Ai Tenshi Densetsu Wedding Peach, Chihiro Enomoto from Kujibiki Unbalance, and Tomochika Shibuya from the Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ anime series.

How bad :(
I loved her role as Otaru in Saber Marionette. I still listen to Kaze to Sora wo Koete pretty often.

She's pretty. I wouldn't say she reminds me of renamon, but spiderman sense tingling. Hopefully she will stay happy and be strong.

Welp, no Digimon Tamers sequel, then (not that I wanted one what with how tri has turned out). Can't have Renamon without Yuka. Yeah, she said she may return when everything's going smooth for her son, but that can take years to do.

I wish her the best.

Yeah, who will voice Renamon right now if the characters appears in the new Digimon games right now?

feelsbadman. Didn't she recently get divorced as well cause her husband couldn't stand the fact that their child had autism?

At first I didn't mind cause it seemed like she hasn't done too much recently, but I realized she does Tomochika in utapri and that shit is still going very strong so unless the movie is the last anime production for it, or Tomo doesn't end up in any more future games, then she might need a replacement..it would be sad to write a character like Tomo out.

Yeh.

A few years ago she really caused some problems by dropping out of major roles because of her pregnancy. I really do feel sorry for her, though. I would have dropped out of whatever I was doing to care for my children.
