The CGI doesn't look bad but I would say its decent enough to work on. Will look into this for sure still.

Hmm... I can’t say I’m that interested in this now.

When they first announced the project, I didn’t know what to expect, but it looked promising. After they released the synopsis, I was a bit disappointed, but hey, maybe I should wait for a PV and see...

Sadly, besides some of the backgrounds, nothing else from this first PV really grabbed my attention. It was pretty meh to be honest... The anime character designs looked okay-ish and the song was just fine.

Now, regarding the use/mix of 2D and 3D, I don’t care as long as it isn’t too jarring... From what I saw in the PV, it looks decent enough, but nothing outstanding. It looks like your typical 3D mostly used for idol series (like some already said), maybe a tad better, but who knows at this point really...

I will give the series a try whenever it airs... most likely Winter 2017.

I'm honestly waiting for this because Konomi Suzuki is one of my favorite anisong singer.

My guess is that this is the fantasy version of our idol animes – the musical segments are animated in CGI, which is actually much, much better than what we have in even Love Live! Sunshine!! – and then everything else is traditionally animated. Although the transitions do look a bit jarring (this is where I think LLSS has smoother transitions simply because the CGI models do look very, very similar to their traditionally-animated counterparts), on the whole it's not actually that bad.

Now what I do want to know is the synopsis/basic premise for this show, since that will determine whether I watch this or not in the end.

Edit: Just found the anime's page with the synopsis. So this is a musical anime after all. In that case, why is everyone crying about CGI suddenly; this is typical of the idol anime genre (well, except for The Idolm@ster).

You know what I noticed. The people that tend to complain about CGI tend to be close-minded. Especially when the CGI that we saw was pretty decent. Good framerate good models and nice camera angles. Sure it is a bit odd to go back and forth from 2D and 3D but it is in no way immediately bad. In fact, it looks straight up out of a video game's pre-rendered video game cutscene. Looking forward to it. Glad to see Netflix is supposed to have it on earlier than it will air weekly.

Also, I would like to point out the little 2D animation we actually got in this trailer had little to no movement and was very static. The CGI will be used to give more movement and I think making it full CGI like @TheServant said would have been a good idea.

well if they keep the direction of the pv then we can all agree it will be the new hand shakers

I heavily disagree. Hand Shakers problem is that it is too busy and has way too much going on. Not to mention it is extremely fetishy and pandering. The CGI used here was actually fairly good. This is leagues better than hand shakers horrid camera movement, horrible saturation, and unrealistic boob physics.

This

And this

Are clearly completely different. Ah good, apparently my gif for lost song expired or something. Too lazy to ever fix it. Just go look up in the video random people.

Ohhhhh. Hey, we finally got more info on it and even a PV. Looks pretty nice so far, imo. Well, I hope to the transition from 2D to 3D isn't as jarring as it appeared in the PV.

Other than that, I think I'm good. Looking forward to it and and an exactly air date. Wish they could've at least said early 2018 or late 2018.

Wait a minute. Some scenes will be fully CGI while other will be hand-drawn? That's . . . unique. I would've preferred all CGI all the time rather than this.

Atrocious CGI, will skip.

Compared to other CGI anime TV series, this is not that bad. The implementation might be jarring, but the CGI itself is quite good.

Ugh, Netflix, i'll pass on this.

It will also be available via Netflix earlier than the TV broadcast.

I'ma watch this on Netflix, go around the episode discussion weekly threads and spoil this shit to the dickfucks who decides to watch this show weekly (─‿‿─).

Anyways....the CGI doesn't even look that bad and I'm pretty sure it's going to be like Love Live where they'll only use CGI on the dancing scenes or whatever. The first half of the PV looks really good though so I'm going to give this series a try.
