New 'Macross' TV Series Title Announced

It was revealed on its official site on Sunday that the new Macross series is temporary titled Macross Δ (Macross Delta) and is in production. According to sources, auditions are being offered starting on December 1st for roles as the new characters.

I kinda feel it might be a sequel to frontier just adding a new heroine in the mix, or an entire new story just having sheryl and ranka come back as supporting characters to the new idol. But i still think its a gonna be a sequel to frontier i can feel it in my gut.

Just go with Macross, it's a lot less to get through overall. Gundam is definitely better though.

I agree, I don't know how well 7 did, but apparently frontier was really successful so they will probably go back with the idol business again kinda sucks but eh that's the current market.

As long as it's not the same shit like Frontier and SDF. They should try something more unique, like they did with 7. But I guess it's pretty much confirmed that we are getting a female idol.

A Macross without a love triangle is not a macross series

It's a requirement for there to be a triangle, otherwise it's just Gundam with music.

A lot of hate for macross frontier up in here, wonder why? My guess it has something to do with the ending but eh, I guess it's vocal minority since it's still pretty highly rated. I only really watch it for the mechs and I wasn't disappointed on that front, I will agree that the plot is eh.. the movies are better on that front though.

Kawamori never dissapoints me and they announced the year it plays the audition and the name the anime was annouced a good 6 months ago
