You should have quoted your own post and tagged me. I saw a notification but not a new post :-)

Yes, Banana Fish is valid for #61. Just remember to state it takes place in the New York City.
Yes, Baccano! is valid for #60. And as in the above, remember to state the character and its nationality.

Hello there!

I was hoping to get some help on item 97 - Watch an anime with a non-humanoid main character.

I had originally chosen Monokuma from Danganronpa. However, now that I completed it, I'm wondering if it would really work.

Thanks for helping out! (:

Hey guys! For number 93, for watching an anime with a popularity of #5001 or lower, a higher number would work right? Say, #5076 would work, since it's less popular than #5001? Sorry for the dumb question, just trying to make sure I've got things straight!!

Also if anyone has recs for #27, let me know!!

You aren't able to do that item. You must choose another item from the same tier.

completed anime = an anime that finished before the challange???
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

Nope
-> completed anime = anime that finished before starting the anime for the challenge
For example (not specifically for you): you can start watching Hataraku Saibou from the previous season since it's completed, but you can't start Banana Fish.

It's not valid because Digimon Adventure Tri is not a related anime for Digimon Adventure.
Here are the related anime for Digimon Adventure that you have already seen.

You can consult the staff members and see their favorites clicking on their profile: https://myanimelist.net/about.php?go=team
You may try Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (Kineta's favorite)

I was checking out the questionnaire but couldn't find the right place to drop my thoughts on the difficulty levels.

In my opinion, it is pretty hard to convert from a low difficulty to a higher one. For example:
I want to start with a low diffuculty, that I know I can finish. If there is still time I want to try the next-harder one. But with the challenge setup this year this is kinda hard for that.

It is totally reasonable that low tier goals are easier to achieve then high tier goals. Plus, naturally if an anime qualifies for a low tier goal it ist not given that it can qualify for a high tier goal. So far so good, I understand that.

The problem is, that the higher difficulty doesn't just ADD the high tier goals but it REPLACES / REMOVES low tier goals with high tier goals (10 easy / 5 hard -> 5 easy / 15 hard, example numbers). With this, the anime I watched earlier for easy difficulty and low tier goals are unlikely to be used for the new high tier goals. Well.. Nobody will understand what I mean, because I can't put it in words well~... So, if I want to switch from easy to medium, I watched anime that I cant use anymore ("wasted time" for the challenge, not wasted for anime though). Thats kind of depressing.

Instead I would have liked it to be like 10 easy / 5 hard -> 10 easy / 15 hard (example numbers) so I can keep my progress with the easy ones!

Some goals I didn't like as much were:
- No forum posts
- No OP/ED listed
- No review
These are really hard, if not to say hard a.f., if I want to do TV-type only like last year (I think this challenge wasn't designed to be able to do TV-type only, not sure if it even is suggested to do that atm). For these crazy goals I was kind of forced to put OVAs/Specials but kept as much of the challenge TV-pure as possible.

Other then that I really like the challenge idea and love to participate! Its a lot of fun and I am forced out of my comfort zone and watch some stuff which I would'nt have watched otherwise (sadly OVAs/Specials!). Thats great.

Hopefully the correct recipent of this is reading it and doesn't take it as "hate" because it isn't ;>

Unless I'm misunderstanding, you mean to keep the increment between difficulties stable, as in if x difficulty requires 5 from Tier 1, the second difficulty should ask an more and not less. Is that it?
So far, next year will most likely not use tiers again. I might change the dynamic of it all, yet again, so we might not see the tiers at all for 2019. IF, and just if, I decide to keep them I will keep your opinion in mind. Same goes for the item list, it will be reworked as well.

Already noted it down on my suggestions list (your opinion about the difficulties).

As for the TV types, this year it wasn't included because some of the items wouldn't be possible with it.

Thanks~ I'm glad you enjoyed (or are enjoying) the challenge =)

Well, just finished the challenge two days ago and wanted to comment on the TV type thing.
I completed the challenge on hardcore using only TV type anime, except for the obvious exceptions like "watch an ONA" or "watch a stand-alone OVA". Stuff like no forum posts and no reviews weren't that hard to find, you just had to use some older lesser known anime.
That said, there were a couple of challenges that were hard to find TV anime for and either are no longer eligible (like "(56) Watch a completed anime which 0 members have favorited") or I only find 1-2 TV anime for and couldn't repeat next year (like no OP/ED and no Producer, Licensor or Studio).
But with that said, I liked that I had to search for obscure and lesser known anime to fulfill all these items and wouldn't mind similar challenges next year.
Here's a link to my challenge list, in case anybody's interested.

But I provided a screenshot, thought that would be better than just stating the numbers, since I watched it shortly after it finished airing and figured that it would change.

#53. Watch a completed anime with more users in "Plan-to-Watch" than "Completed" - check in the stats tab; state the members it had when you started; save a screenshot showing your username and status in case there's a big gap when you turn-in
I marked two important parts. First, you have to state the members it had when you completed it. Second, screenshot is for case when it's no longer valid.

Personally I like the tier system and the challenge itself, but the diffucilty curve is a problem. At the start you can easily set your stakes to high and can't finish the challenge. You could add a kind of leveling system, where you have to go through every rank (Knight -> Baron -> Marquess etc.). It would be pretty nice, when you have the feeling, that you can't finish Marquess for example, that you still managed to get the "reward" of Baron.

On a sidenote I need help with that challenge (102) Watch an anime recommended to you by a challenge staff member

Waaait friend. That's quite a nice idea there. I like it.
I will try to work with it for a bit and see how far I can take it.
Thanks!!!!

Fancy
May I compliment you on how organized it looks
I've seen quite a few completed lists so far but this is my new fav from a design pov.

Thank you for the compliment, always happy to hear positive feedback, although I don't think I did anything much other than change the colors (might've did something right at the beginnng of the year that I can't remember though :D)

Not saying you're wrong, but that screenshot is from when I completed it and because I knew it would be different later, I didn't explicitly state the numbers through text (now there are a lot more completed than Plan to Watch).
IIRC, I did it the same way the last two years for a similar(or the same?) challenge.
But of course if something is wrong or missing and I can't explain what I meant correctly, I'll change it.
And, in the end, that's not the item that would stop me from competing a non-offfical TV-only challenge :)

Just state the numbers from the screenshot and you'll be fine :-)
