The sensei knew that Kayo is safe, even after finding nothing at her house? Huh... well, that's interesting. Too bad the other guys at the scene were too dumb to pick this up. How would sensei know she's safe? Also, judging from the scene in the bus at the start of the episode, it's almost guaranteed that the murderer is a guy. So that crosses the mom off the list... and the guy is wearing clothing very similar to sensei's clothing. That guy is definitely top suspect.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

Man that part where they empty the killer's bag was chilling. Especially since only Satoru really understood what those items implicated. This series has a way of being able to contrast from the high tension to the feel good though, the part where Kayo stayed at Satoru's house was very soothing. Sachiko is awesome, treating Kayo like a daughter. I get the feeling they're confronting her mom to adopt Kayo.

The part where Kayo broke down after seeing the nourishing breakfast really got me the most. It just goes to show that she can't really be categorized as an archetype, she's just a normal 10-11 year old girl beneath the distant exterior.

Scene with crying Kayo-chan was too much ;_; I just wish for her to be happy in the end, she suffered all this time... ;_;

Also, Sachiko officialy joins anime best mums unit. Why are anime mothers always the best characters in the world and they just have to be killed off? Geez!

Yeah I wonder why Satoru didn't invite Hinazuki into his own house from the beginning. Seeing as his mom seemed to get what was going on with the child abuse form the beginning, I could see her understanding why he would want her to stay. Maybe there could be a lot of legal issues such as kidnapping?

But dang...I can't believe the murderer kept his tools at the bus hideout...that must be super freaky :o

I know this isn't a horror show, but when they opened the bag I was freaking the hell out. Might as well have had Jason from Friday the 13th come out with scissor hands.
Just need to find out how to quote this every time so I can dodge the stupid 30-character limit.

What made me happiest this episode was that there was no cliffhanger at the end. It happening for every episode was getting annoying, sometimes you just need to leave things on a good note lol. Satorus mom is awesome, she has really good intuition and she treats the kids like they were her own its so heart warming that she cares.

+: Kayo finally giving Satoru his birthday present ♡, cooking mama Sachiko, the bath scene was so cute and I teared up when they had breakfast. You can tell Kayos never been given that kind of love and care by her own mother

- : Satoru not giving the bag they found to the police, duuuumb.

Bruh, I'd kill to have a mom like Sachiko.

She's been like, the best mom since the start of the series.

I'm just glad that Hinazuki didn't die from that dude but what kinda bewilders me is how the cops weren't called yet about the stuff in the bus.

I dont like how they waste time in the middle only to make an annoying cliffhanger at the end of the episode.

Other than that, another pretty good episodes, i realized that the show is not bad as i thought at the first episodes because now I'm investigating how is the killer lol.

Lets see why the show went downhill in the next episodes.

Lol I love whenever Sataru thinks out loud each and every time and I love how his mom is so honest and blunt with him.
Let’s say I posed this question to you: “Can all human souls be bought with money or not?” Now remember, the keyword here is “all”. The answer is “There are times when you can buy them, and other times, not,” right? The human being… sometimes he’ll uphold his pride and conscience even if he’s offered ten billion yen, and other times he’ll murder someone over one yen. ~Izaya Ohira (Durarara)

Wow not kidding.
Its special enough to have parents in anime with school settings.
BUT this mom is one, if not THE, best mother in anime history.

That bed scene, totally have not expected that! lol

I was surprised to see that hinazuki has a bed in her room. And light. I always imagined she had to sleep on the ground. Not joking.

What a touching episode, Satoru's mother is so nice :)

"Am I in the way?"

Lmfao.

Wonder what their plan is by confronting Kayo's mother, maybe Satoru's mother is planning on adopting her, that'd be kinda sweet.

I'm loving Satoru's mom more and more.

I really liked when Kayo flinched at her hand but was surprised to get a pat. Kinda subtle, but it was perfect. It was just a very realistic reaction from someone who probably never got an affectionate gesture from their mother.

The breakfast scene really got me too.

DEM LIPS...IN THE BATH!

LMAO at Satoru reminding himself that he's 29.

LMAO at the bed scene when the mom realized she was in the way and Satoru said out loud "Yeah."

Rage on, scumbag mom. Rage on.

Love the heartwarming moments between Satoru’s mom & Kayo. Props to best anime mom~
Get a grip, 29 year-old Satoru.
The scene where Sachiko felt like she’s getting in the way and Satoru made a slip of tongue answering “yep”, lmao.

The breakfast comparisons were on point. It’s so sad to see Kayo eating cold breakfast alone in snow. She’s always so collected or numb, therefore it’s very emotional to see her breakdown and finally release feelings. I wanna cry with her.

Easily a 5/5 ep.

Poor Kayo. But now, she has people who care for her. It was so touching to see Sachiko treat her as if she were her own daughter. Kayo had been so abused that she braced for a hit when Sachiko put her hand in to pat her, and to see her release her sadness during breakfast was just very endearing when it dawned upon her how much the love and care she was receiving now contrasted with her previous situation.

The reveal of the contents in the backpack was much more intense than I expected.

I think that's my favorite episode of the whole series I loved everything about it. Satoru's mom is just the best anime mom ever, and all the great moments with Kayo. Like when he got the gloves she made for him but never got in the past timeline ;-; or when Kayo realizes how better off she is now when looking at a breakfast more than instant noodles or ramen ;-;. Even the ending isn't killing me which I like and I'm still extremely interested in what happens with Kayos mom in the next episode. I wonder if he's going to do anything special for Hiromi too since he was also a part of the string of murders. This is like a 6/5 episode
remember it was explained in episode 6 that he was only murdered to throw the cops on to the other guy's scent. by making a deliberate mistake as not to mimic the events in the previous town.

I don't quite understand why Kayo's mother didn't report that she was missing in this timeline, if she did in the first timeline?

It has some logic skips, or I am missing some details because it's really fast-paced, but the thing with her mother and the police and the Child Services doesn't really make much sense to me.

Can you organize your question again?

Does that mean you wonder why Kayo's mother did not tell Kayo's disappearance?

In the first timeline, her mom noticed in the evening that she is gone and called the police around 12.30 next noon.
In this timeline she did nothing for 3 days. Don't understand why that is .

(Only explanation I can think of is if she had something to do with the murder in the first timeline, and also with framing Yuuki, so she had an alibi to get rid of her child without doing it herself).

The text in the brackets is only my wild theory to explain this strange behavior, maybe (hopefully!) anime addresses it in latter episodes, but so far it just seems out of place.

You seem to have made a few mistakes.
I will sort it out (only with information from episodes 1 to 8)
Make sure you know something wrong here.

March 2
Kayo came home and was abused.
Later, she was trapped in a warehouse and disappeared.(22:00 - 23:00).

March 3
00:00 to 00:30
Kayo's mother did not call the police, but called Fujimura Sachiko to find Kayo

Before sunrise
The killer put Kayo's body back in the warehouse.
And there is a scene where Kayo's mom and Kayo's body are together in the daytime.

I do not understand your question.
She did not report to the police when 12:30 noon,
I do not know the meaning of your question, 'Why did not she do anything for three days?'

The reasons for not calling the police are the same as before.
She hated the police intervention because she regularly assaulted Cayo.
If she is a simple runaway, there is a high probability that domestic violence will be revealed when the police arrive.

'Kayo's mother's called did not come'
In an animation, she speaks expressionlessly.
However, in the original manga, we can see that she is already penetrating the plan of Satoru.
(Even though Satoru just sent Kayo home, She smiles and observes Satoru all the time.)

(Same as in the past) Kayo's mother would have called Sachiko.
In addition, Satoru's actions were often suspicious.
(He said he was going to school suddenly during the party.)
(And she knew that Satoru was trying to defend Kayo)

Sachiko has already noticed that Satoru hid Kayo.(Loosely)

However, Satoru said to his mother that there was no problem about Kayo.
If sachiko say that She had been called, it would not match Satoru's claim.
Then Sachiko is in a situation where she has to deal with Satoru's lies.
Because Sachiko believed in Satoru, she did not want to pursue him, so she did not say the called
She is such a person.

And when Kayo was looking at her breakfast at the Fujinuma's house and compared it to the food she usually eat at home, (that girl is seriously malnourished) ((cupnoodle and bread?? seriously i feel so bad for her)) It's so sad to see that she's never be held out of love and isn't being fed well for someone her age who's still in the process of growing. It's a survival everyday for her :( I'm glad Satoru's mother is there to help and treat her with utmost adoration like she is her own daughter
