| Just like every form of comedy in the history of humor - it all depends. Comedy can't please masses because it's something that is extremely different on a person-to-person basis. Even if you know someone who finds MOST of the same things funny, they will still end up finding shit you don't like at all to be hilarious, and so on. So do I think comedy anime are funny; some, because they are ones that play to my style of humor. |

| Depends on the show really, but for the most part yes I do. If you watch a comedy with someone else it tends to be funnier. Because you have someone to laugh with so you will actually L-O-L |

| It really depends. For example, if we're talking about comedy IN anime such as a shonen, then I usually don't find it funny. Usually because it's not well written and isn't the strength of the writing staff. As for the comedy genre, I consider it more hit than miss most of the time...especially like quirky, over-the-top anime like Nichijou and Seitokai no Ichizon. Although, there are some anime comedy series that fall a little flat...like Hyakko. I didn't find that series funny in the slightest, or Chitose Get You! For the most part, I do find anime comedies to be more hit than miss. My biggest issue with the anime comedy genre is usually their stories aren't resolved very well. |
| Ofcourse there are ! two anime came to my mind first when mentioning comedy anime. First is Crayon Shin Chan. Some ppl may find it childish but the thing shinchan do is really hilarious! The other one ofcourse is GINTAMA, who widely consider the king of gag in anime. you watch it and you know it. But just like the others say, it really depends on your own preference. Even alot ppl find it funny doesnt mean you will find it funny too. :/ |
| Depends. I obviously won't find Japanese cultural reference funny because I don't know them. I found Baka and Test and Heaven's Lost Property pretty funny though. I don't know what kind of comedy I would classify those as. |

| Yes it's just harder for most people to get it because with most of the jokes, they are way funnier if you can understand them. My favorite anime with comedy are probably Gintama, One Piece, Nichijou, and Hajime no Ippo. |

| Actually it is like that in any other media or genre for instance;from 100 of shows you find maybe 8-10 shows that are really great examples while the others are more/less passable or bad. The same is with comedy. While with comedy you have another concern,the personal "taste" of viewer,wich makes it also more difficult to find that right comedy that suits the viewers taste. It also depends on the viewers knowledge to understand some jokes or gags. Here are some comedy anime that you might like:Gintama,Great Teacher Onizuka,Inukami!,Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge,Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei,Golden Boy and others. Try at least one of them,they are worth you time. |

| You make terrible polls. There's no obvious option of "I find some of them funny". Not all comedies are the same. Most comedies that focus on moe or Japanese references I don't enjoy, but you can't expect Japan to make comedies aimed at westerners. |

| Generally, I would go with the Meh option. A lot of it is not that funny, more chuckle worthy maybe, but occasionally it does have it's moments and there are also some series that are indeed, really freaking hilarious. So it depends. Generally, I don't go out of my way to watch a comedy though, unless I feel like one. I usually prefer more serious things. |

Please tell me because I'm curious. If Anime like Gintama, Danshi koukousei no nichijou, Sayonara zetsubou sensei or Azumanga doesn't appeal you then you have no soul. | yes in general but really it depends I hate the predictable humor for instance: A clumsy anime girls falls on guy face. I know he gonna see panties and have a huge nose bleed. | I enjoy comedy anime, but, like with every other genre, I don't always agree with the general opinion. For instance, I found Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei the least funny out of the four-ish Shaft comedies I've seen. I plan to watch Nichijou eventually and maybe Gintama, although probably not because of how long it is. |
