　Mini Review: Well, the anime mostly consisted of fights with not that much plot between them. These unfortunately aren't
that much my thing and I couldn't really appreciate them.
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun 3rd Season - 11 episodes previously watched
　Mini Review: Was nice to see the cast of this anime again, through the many episodes of this show they definitely
grew on me. Although I thought that the quality of the humor had declined a bit over time compared to the beginning but it
was still funny to some degree. It also was nice to see the cast getting stronger and raising in rank.
The opening was really rhythmic and a banger as always in this series.
Sasaki to Miyano Movie: Sotsugyou-hen
　Mini Review: That was so cute and wholesome. Was also happy to see how accepting Miyanos
mom is of her son having a boyfriend. Watching this left me with a warm
fuzzy feeling.
Mitsuami no Kamisama
　Mini Review: This movie had a poetic feeling to it. And it also was somewhat cryptic. I assume the reason for
this may be that the story is told through the perspective of the household items who don't fully understand humans and their affairs.
And according to the synopsis of the manga this is based on, this takes place after the Fukushima disaster. To know this
gives at least a bit more context.

High Card
　Mini Review: Exciting series with some unique kind of powers.
I liked Chris and Finn and loved seeing their interactrions with each other. Especially what happened
in episode 7 was great. Though I also noticed that Wendy ,Vijay and Leo didn't got that much
focus despite they were also apparently supposed to be main characters.
Vinland Saga Season 2 - 19 episodes previously watched
　Mini Review: This season had less focus on action and
fighting and had a stronger focus on the plot compared to the first , which I liked.
Aru Asa Dummy Head Mic ni Natteita Ore-kun no Jinsei
　Mini Review: This anime for a good part seems to rely on being a wish fullfilement
fantasy, as the protagonists reincarnations lead to him becoming physically close to
girls in somewhat intimate ways. For this I am not really the target audience.
Then there is also the yuri aspect, which I generally are more appreciating of.
Also the humor had only a few moments where it actually was at least somewhat funny.
Doukyuusei (Movie)
　Mini Review: That was cute. The two main characters are truely adorkable.
Its also nice to see something so light hearted.
The water color art style looks kinda unique and is really beautiful.

Hataraku Saibou
　Mini Review: This had a kinda unique premise.
Red Blood Cell was cute and I liked her interactions
with White Blood Cell. The anime also has many funny moments.
With such an anime, learning about how our body worked is lots of fun.
Though beyond the surface the fact how many cells ultimately die
makes this also a bit dark...
Idolls!
　Mini Review: The animation was very recogniazable CGI
but at least not the really bad kind of CGI. The anime was also
rather dull and while I think it tried to be comedy, there were rarely
any funny moments. And the characters didn't really had any personality.
Ame-iro Cocoa: Rainy Color e Youkoso!
　Mini Review: The plot was kinda dumb and the anime feeled purposeless.
The only good thing was probably that there was a cute dog.
Also why had there had to be such a long segment with the voice actors
at the end of every episode? It was thrice as long as the actual episode
and the quality was about the same as the actual show, which at least was only
two minutes long per episode.
Ame-iro Cocoa in Hawaii
　Mini Review: New setting but still feeled as purposeless as before.
At least they had a cute doggo again.
I think the main appeal is supposed to be the bishounen characters and the dog
and not necessarily the plot.

AD Police
　Mini Review: It was a bit difficult for me to follow the plot
at times. Also I thought the third OVA did okay in exploring issues with potential futuristic technology,
but the other two weren't that meaningful.
And seeing the city in the animes old-fashioned animation style looked quite nice. I am generally
fond of many older animation styles.
Kuroko no Basket Movie 1: Winter Cup - Kage to Hikari
　Mini Review: I am not really into sports and this movie consisted nearly exclusively of showing the
characters playing basketball, so this was a bit boring. Although in the scenes where parts of the theme songs from the
parent series where playing the music helped to make this scenes a bit more exciting to me and it was nice to hear
this songs again. Kuroko really has some enjoyable theme songs. Also this movie started right in and didn't do much
to introduce the characters but this is likely supposed to be a summary of the highlight moments of the parent series and
not something one can watch instead of the parent series so this still somewhat works.
Kuroko no Basket Movie 2: Winter Cup - Namida no Saki e
　Mini Review: Again this movie consisted nearly fully of playing basketball, which wasn't very interesting for me.
At least this time they focused a bit on the relationship between Kagami and Himuro. In the parent series I really
liked the parts focusing on this. In the end this ultimately was not that big a part of the movie and while it would have
been nice to have a bigger focus on this I understand that this would have been difficult to do because of length constraints.
Kuroko no Basket Movie 3: Winter Cup - Tobira no Mukou
　Mini Review: And not different to the two movies before this third movie very unsurprisingly is mostly filled
with basketball matches. And like I already mentioned I am not really fond of watching sports being played.

🎿 Feedback about the event? I really liked this event - it had a good balance between being chill and having a bit of the competitiveness spice.
I enjoyed what I watched - both things that were on my plan to watch list (but have been forgotten there for quite some time), and new things that I might have never heard about otherwise.
The highlights for me were the workshop phase (loved the format) and the reviews part (I have done this exactly ZERO times before, so it was a nice challenge for me).

Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara
　Mini Review: The formula was pretty simple and repetitive but the main couple was so cute together that I really didn't mind. Also I do enjoy myself a good beverage but I didn't find the drink segment to be that interesting, maybe one day (prob not) ill make some of them for myself. It was a very short and sweet show that surprisingly had a decent macro plot reminiscing on how the main couple fell in love.
Ima, Soko ni Iru Boku
　Mini Review: Going into this show blind other then the fact that it's one of the earliest "isekais" and I completely did not expect this grim-ish post apocalyptical desert war show. The show was interesting at time but also the pacing completely fell apart in the last three episodes. Easily needed more episode to flesh out the last like four episodes. Early 2000 fantasy anime are suppose to be more thought out and compelling then this but this one landed in a solid meh for me.
Paprika
　Mini Review: I've loved all of Satoshi Kon's stuff and paprika was no exception. His directorial prowess for pushing the imagination that animation can take us without trying to be too "abstract" is best showcase here. A small added bonus for me was being able to hear Megumi Hayashibara voice in something that isn't Conan lmao. My only complaint is I feel like the romance/lust section was a bit forced as it was never really given much time to develop on screen for us and that the big reveal was pretty predictable as we actually didn't have any characters left for it to be the villain.
Taifuu no Noruda
　Mini Review: A very short and sweet story, though it was pretty mediocre. For 26 minutes, I wished they didn't focus so much on the boys in-fighting and that weird drama bit and focus more on the weird alien girl being sacrifice. The tone from kid drama to crazy alien end of the world was quite a whiplash and made it hard for me to grasp to scope of the stake. But for 26, I think they packed and made the most of what they had.

Aggressive Retsuko (ONA)
　Mini Review: I remember giving this show a try before and stopping and re-watching from the beginning again, I definitely remember why. I don't have the same kind of built up rage towards my job as the MC and couldn't really relate and laugh at the jokes. I pity all the Japanese office workers out there. But once it moved past the characters being their one dimensional tropes, I actually started to really like the show. I really liked the office party twist and the romance was cute. The senpais were great. Will definitely be checking out the later seasons at some point.
Aria the Crepuscolo
　Mini Review: Man, Aria has this magical power with me to just immediately create this surreal magical mood as soon I hit play, no matter how many years its been. The movie in particular was a great treat because not only do we get to see the new relationship when Alice is a teacher now and their dynamics but we also get to see more of Alice and Athena. The santa bit was really touching and makes me so happy that we get have more aria to watch even 10 years later.
Gokusen
　Mini Review: Its almost impossible for you to say delinquent teacher and not make me compare this show to the goat GTO, even more so since this was roughly around the same time period. That being said, GTO might've been too big of a bar as this shows pales in almost every aspect which probably did not help its score. The whole I want to hide my past but I pull out the delinquent ass kicking ability when it count reminds me more of a modern day isekai trope then anything.
Mononoke
　Mini Review: Mononoke is show thats hard to describe and hard to compare to because of just how different it is. The art style really contributes to the mysterious nature of the show and despite the show more or less following the same formula as creepy thing shows and medicine man slays it on the surface. The true appeal of the show is the narrative that is uncovered in the process of slaying the monsters and the all complex interesting characters surrounding it. Its not for everything but it was one of the more neat things I watched this event.

Harmonie
　Mini Review: Man I thought this show actually had some really interesting promise with how the show kept hinting and alluding at this world Juri had. Starting with the musical pieces, and then the drawings, and dreams to create this fascinating world of robots humanoid things? And then to lure us along to us thinking it was real for it all to be revealed at the end that the MC didnt dream it cause it was real but rather because his subconsciously remembered it from the recording she had. That this cool world it was building up was actually just fake after all and she has just been obsessively crazy about it in the end to the point it affected her social abilities. Maybe there's some message about believing in your inner imagination or something but for me the show would've been better off if the world was actually real and left me wondering what the point of the story was.
Isshuukan Friends.
　Mini Review: Immediate first thought when I found out about the premise "man they really ripped off ef huh". That being said, ef is much more of emotional tragic story while this one seems to be more of the light hearted so I was still really interesting to see their take on this concept. I really like the main two as a couple, Amamiya Sora probably played a large part of that which is good because thats what the vast majority of the show is about. But I am disappointed by the twist they revealed in the last arc. It felt like the show didn't know how to handle itself, turning into this more or less comfy cute romance to lets explore her trauma that cause all this and didn't really know how to juggle the contrasting tones. I also think that the reason why she was so traumatize was really silly but they were like grade schoolers so I guess I should've expected that. I still enjoyed it for what it is though.
Ergo Proxy
　Mini Review: Man usually these dystopian shows are full of complex characters and interesting stories and well Ergo... has Rel, a very naive girl with no good understanding of the world she's in which does not help with progressing the narrative. Granted there are some.. vague interesting world building that doesn't really get properly explored but is sprinkled in here and there. Rather the majority of the show feels like when Re-L and Vincent went traveling to random places which honestly suited the show better then the web of world building the show was working it way up towards. Also Pino is a great innocent ball of chaos that deserve better and bridges the gap between Rel and Vincent awkwardness to build well rounded cast.
Hana to Alice: Satsujin Jiken
　Mini Review: A common theme i've noticed while watching these show building up in my PTW is the whiplash tone of the show, this one being no exception. The first half of the movie being this weird cult the class has built over a classmate who supposedly died and their ghost is haunting the school whoooo so creepy and the mysterious girl who watches her though her window. Then the second half feels more like a adventure series (though they don't go too far) to uncover the truth of what happened. A few things stood out to me. one, the girls are wayyyy too close for a shut in who randomly met this girl the other day. It feels like they've been childhood friends for 10 years or something. Two, I feel so bad for the old man boss guy who got dragged along in their antics. Three, how did not a single person in their class not have the guys phone number to call and see what happened to him.

Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor
　Mini Review: This one lives up to his reputation, going back to the epic mecha of the 90's but instead of being overly serious and about war, patlabor was a surprisingly more lighthearted fun take on the genre. That being said, there is some serious tone throughout the show but its overshadowing the entire show and the show never forgets its witty fun banter even if they're in the middle of defusing a missile. Definitely want to check out the rest of the franchise at some point.
Summer Ghost
　Mini Review: As far as short movies goes, this was one of the best ones I watched on this challenge. My biggest gripe with the show was that it was too short and could've used another 30 minutes to flesh the other characters out. Theres "four" main characters but it really comes down to ghost girl and that one guy as he tries to find... "meaning to his life" and she tries to move on from the world. I think those two in particular played off of each other well for the time it was given but they still felt a bit one dimensional compare to what I think it could've been. At least with this one, the show had a strong sense of identity and knew what it wanted to do with the story compare to some of the others.

　Mini Review: Man, this is the kind of trash I've been looking for. The weird ecchi trash that doesn't go too far into degeneracy but has a bunch of dumb wild antics to it. Very much a turn your brain off kind of thing. I do think the whole initial premise of we have two colors and they must fight is dumb but I'm glad that all of that quickly went out the window and we got more silly ecchi antics in exchange. That being said, there are things wrong with it like the the earlier battle royal nonsense and the twist at the end wasn't really resolved. If I really wanted to be picky, the childhood friend felt randomly inserted and the librarian persona is so meh that we really don't have a long of strong contender for the harem. Glad the president carries the gang and I guess even Kaede was interesting. But because it was a dumb fun show to begin with, I'll accept i'm bias here and pretend that none of those problems exist.

　Mini Review: Initially I skipped over this show when it aired because I had to make cuts somewhere and this one ended up getting the axe but I heard a lot of good things about it afterwards so I've been wanting to get to it soon. The show doesn't necessary do anything new but it goes a great job at condensing the normal long drawn out 6 season haikyuu nonsense into a very easy digestible 12 episode without ruining the pacing. That on top of the very pretty sport scenes and likeable characters, I can easily see why so many people liked the show. I think this is a great show to for people to dip their toes into proper sports show. I guess if I had to plot flaws anywhere it that we don't see much of the sports itself and even less of the training. The MC *just* started gymnastic and suddenly hes at the level to compete at highly competitive level? The guy who couldnt do a handstand at the beginning of the show?

🎿 Feedback about the event? I really enjoyed this format; thanks for hosting! The personalized recommendations for former winter events were definitely more Christmas-y, but they were much harder from a participant (and I assume the host's) standpoint. I think last year I had to recommend a show I hadn't even seen as I had no other choices that would've fit their preferences. It just didn't feel right. I wouldn't mind seeing this same format or something similar to it for future years. The overall abundance of choices was great, and I also liked how the groups were made (1-2 people in each group with a more limited selection was a good balance).
