| Pretty typical episode but Rin shows up! About time honestly. She makes an intimidating but also very catchy appearance in this episode. Urushi and Ayumu still had their usual relationship chemistry. |

| Well a new member joined the group, and it's another Kendo practitioner. She seems pretty interesting in a way so i wonder what she will bring to the anime. Urashi's friends where pretty interesting and they might appear in future episodes as well so thing might heat up a bit. |
| Interesting development, there's new girl trying to make them leave the club, but Ayumu won in the end. Wonder what it would be like in the club after she joins it. |

| Truly the whole year went by like nothing. Still, Rin is finally here ... along with the true kendo spirit, and now the true shogi club shenanigans are about to start. If this episode is any example we follow from now on. Oh, and the backstory was funny. |

| Great episode! Ayumu is now a 2nd year and Urushi a 3rd year. Takeru is in the same class as Sakurako and Ayumu asks Urushi if there is someone she wants to be in class with. She says there is and Ayumu is sad that there is another person she wants to be with. He misunderstood though as that person was him xD. They have flyers for the club and try to recruit some more members. We got to see how Ayumu joined the shogi club. A flyer flew on him outside when he just joined the school and Urushi apologised to him and asked him to join. He decided to instead of the kendo club lol. He also finally understood what Takeru meant about love. Recruitment didn't go too well for Urushi and the posters flew away due to the wind. But a girl caught them all perfectly! Ayumu and Takeru come back empty handed and it seems the girl knows them. She went to their middle school. Her name is Rin. And she decided to join as she mistook the shogi club for the kendo club! She challenges Ayumu and Takeru to a match and if he loses she wants Urushi to let both of them go! Ayumu accepts her challenge. Meanwhile, Urushi is worried he will lose... and she takes off to see Ayumu. He says he is sorry... but luckily he won! And Rin has joined the shogi club! Looking forward to the next episode! |

| Must be fate that Takeru and Sakurako are in the same class again lol. Ayumu and Urushi being in the same class despite being different grades must also be fate! Looks like it’ll be a good year. Nice to see Maki, Miku, and Hinano all in the same class as Urushi too. Her friends are pretty cute! But wow, they really breezed through like a whole year in 7 eps. Ayumu’s first time meeting Urushi was pretty cliche but I liked it. It was love at first sight for the guy! Definitely “like lightning” lol. Things are gonna be interesting with Rin around. Nice we actually kinda get to see Ayumu in kendo mode. But man, how adorable was Urushi running to Ayumu? Girl realized she didn’t want a club if our boy wasn’t there. Melted my heart lol. That look of joy on Urushi’s face was so freaking cute too! Now that the club has 4 members, I guess that means they can be recognized officially. Yay! |
| Great episode, New character Rin makes her appearance and tries to make Ayumu join the Kendo club and take him away from Urushi but thankfully he won the duel which made Urushi so happy |
| Is it just me, or was Urushi a bit bolder in this episode? Starting off with her wish to be in the same class and then of course the climax of that right at the end of the duel. It's adorable to see this development, just beat her in Shogi already xD. Seems like the new club member will be a bit of a pain to handle for our senior characters but let's see how it goes, lol. Loved the hit like a lightning reference. I want to see more of Sakuraku x Takeru! |

| A year has passed, damn. I guess we’ll now be stuck in this year until senpai has to move away or something. Props to wind-kun, it really is the best wingman. But still, though, I can’t believe man put the “hoes” before the “bros.” Despicable. Jk…. A new character is introduced. To be honest it was pretty obvious that no one will join the club since it would mess up the whole you know. Romance. Still though, printing 100 flyers. Wow rip those trees. Nothing like the fear of losing someone to make you realize how much more you can about them lol. Never mind, the new girl joined. I guess now they have the required number to be an official club. Yay! |
Graduated High School in May of 2022. Summer vacation has finally arrived. I have once again regained the power of a new anime fan, being able to watch multiple anime episodes in a day. Time to binge-watch every single anime I can into the night until college arrives. SADGE. SUPER SADGE... College has begun as of Monday, August 30, 2022, so you won't be seeing me much around these parks. See you on weekends, I guess... School me is back. Sigh! I'll at least try for one anime a day with all this course load. |
| No way this was a 20 minute episode, more like 5 mins. This episode had the most cutest moments ever. I was smiling like an idiot at times. The class part where Urushi wanting to be in same class as Ayumu was so cute and then there was the girls' scene with Urushi that was too cute and wholesome for my kokoro to handle. We got the flashback with how Ayumu basically ended up in Shogi club because of a lightning hit. A critical lightning hit on his kokoro which unlocked a new emotion called romantic love for him. A new character is introduced and I see a little bit of Ayumu in her with how serious she is and how serious she looks, she got very bright eyes though. Glad Ayumu won the duel even after playing for the first time after a year. Seems like he was one hell of a Kendo player, dude quite that for love damn. Waifu>>>everything. A happy ending for Urushi with Shogi club becoming an official club. Not so happy ending for Ayumu though, Rin's gonna be one hell of a third wheel lmao. Awesome episode. 5/5. |

| After the ending of the Takagi-san I really needed to something to keep me in this teasing multiverse and this episode delivered. Absolutely adorable moments today. Urashi realising she needs ayumu and running to see him was perfect. Really enjoyed their backstory as well. |

| The bit with Urushi's friends tickling her was super cute, I guess everyone wants to hug her, I'm just a bit worried about Rin being a love triangle so hopefully it isn't strictly the case. |
| That Urushi running sequence was so well done, I was not expecting this. It somehow reminded me of that scene from EP 19 of Toradora when Taiga run out of her apartament after Ruyji because she realised that she had some feelings to him. |

| Now that I think about it, which of the members has really joined primarily for the sake of shogi? Oh well, at least they can become official with just one more member. Which makes me curious how they were allowed to advertise if they aren't official. |

| The little misunderstanding in the beginning was really wholesome once Ayumu realized what Urushi meant, love seeing face light up like that. Speaking up Ayumu’s face lighting up, it was especially great when he first met Urushi in the flashback, my man put Kendo down immediately lol, that’s love at first sight for sure, he was hit like lightning in his words lol. And now there’s a new girl, Rin, who used to be in the Kendo club with Ayumu and Takeru, and upon finding out Ayumu ditched Kendo for Shogi, she challenges him to a duel to win him back over. Thankfully Ayumu won, but it was sweet how Urushi ran to him after thinking about it. And now Rin is part of the Shogi club, this oughta shake things up lol. |

| The 2nd Year of school has officially begun, and while both Urushi and Tanaka progress one step forward, both Takeru and Sakurako are in the same class, though it's clearly written on Urushi's face of jealousy that's sad because they're in the same Class 1, but different years. Of course, Maki is in the same class for their final year. The backstory of Takeru and Tanaka when they're 1st Years looking for a club, and I like how Takeru describes his relationsship with Sakurako as being "hit by lightning" lols (that's a very apt description), while Tanaka felt the same by Urushi with joining the Shogi club the year prior. Urushi for sure, didn't quite get the whole idea about it. With a new year, it's time to get down to recruiting new members and roping potential new 1st Year kids in. And within the streams of the crowd, there's one girl that already knows her path and extradited by her elegant moves, it's Rin Kagawa joining the club having already known both Tanaka and Takeru as her Senpais...though she misunderstood that they both joined the school's Kendo club. It's this juncture that leads Rin to challenge Tanaka to a duel where the loser will go to the Kendo club, effectively removing members. And well...Rin's a hard-headed one, so Tanaka has no choice but to go along with the once-"Immovable Mountain" Kendo master, which worries Urushi that her year spent with him could go up in flames if he lost, much less be an official club once and for all. And indeed, as much as he's worried about Urushi, he lived up to his name, and so Rin joins because she lost the duel. With Rin, the Shogi Club is gonna transform...let's see, let's see. |

| Wasn't expecting this episode to carry a little bit of weight to it, especially when seeing how worried Urushi was at the thought of losing Ayumu to the kendo club. Perhaps even more depth could've been added if Urushi considered letting Ayumu go and to even suggest that he do join the kendo club since that is where his true talents lie. She as well could've feel a little remorse for in a way taking Ayumu away from what he was truly good at. But she doesn't think that way at all, and instead was just really hoping he would win that duel so that he could stay by her side. And at the end of the day it doesn't really matter as it was Ayumu's choice to drop the kendo club in favour of going after a girl. Would call him a simp, but the way he first laid eyes on Urushi and you can tell that he has been taken by none other than true love. The entire ensemble of characters in this anime are solid in terms of how likeable they are. And that casts certainly expands with Rin's character being added to the mix. |

| Never underestimate the wind. Not only did it send the shogi flier into Ayumu's face when he first started high school, which led to him joining Urushi's little shogi club, but one year later, wind-kun decided to activate its powers again and got a new character involved. Her name is Rin and she's the kouhai of Ayumu and Takeru during their junior high years at the kendo club. Aside from being slightly oblivious at first, Rin was shocked to see both Ayumu and Takeru being part of the shogi club instead of furthering their skills at kendo, so she challenged Ayumu to a match and if she won, Ayumu would have to leave the shogi club. It added the anticipation in this episode as their was a chance that Urushi would lose Ayumu to Rin if he lost his battle against her. Good thing she went with her emotions here as she ran towards the kendo club (Her whole running sequence was animated really nicely, I must add!) and heard what she wanted to hear and that was Ayumu being victorious. Because of that, Rin has now decided to become the newest member of the shogi club. I guess you can call this a successful recruitment drive, huh? XD Overall, this was a nice episode and upon first impressions, Rin seems to be a serious girl who'll bring more amusing moments in future episodes. I look forward to it! ^_^ |

| I had forgotten about this new girl, Rin, until she was introduced today as I had been wondering who she was from the OP. It was nice getting some background story on how Ayumu and Urushi met and now one year later we have Rin. She definitely seems to have a more serious demeanor like Ayumu so maybe she'll take shogi seriously but who knows since Ayumu only got interested in it because he likes Urushi. I'm guessing they'll be some hijinks with the new girl involved. |

| New year. Urushi and Ayumu start a new year, and they are going to try to bring more members to the club. And we see how Ayumu arrived at the school and how she met Urushi, the decision to join the Shogi club was quick. If he got hit by lightning xd Well, new students come and the guys try to convince them to join the club. And there appeared a girl, Rin Kagawa. Who was Ayumu and Takeru's partner. And she signed up for the club, but she thought it was the Kendo club because she saw them there. And she challenges him to a duel and if she wins she takes them to the Kendo club. Ayumu accepted, Urushi was a little worried that he would leave the club. But Ayumu won. And Rin is going to join the club, so everything is fine xd      |

| Flashback to when Ayumu ditched any aspirations to join Kendo because the Shogi club president is too cute. Urushi's rival appears. Turns out her Kouhais have their own Kouhai from middle school. Rin "return my senpais" Kagawa challenges Ayumu. Although he's been playing Shogi all this time, his Kendo skills still surpass her's and keeps his membership within the Shogi club. Urushi running towards the dojo was cute. Ayumu made her worry for a moment there. I think it would've been more funny if Rin didn't find out she joined Shogi club accidentally until the first club meeting of the school year lmao. |
