Mine was Maison Ikkoku.

I have always been a huge Rumiko Takahashi fan, so Maison Ikkoku being her most "real life" based story and with its amazing storytelling, has won my heart.

But then came LOGH and made me change my top drastically.

Which one was yours?

The only one that ever played with my heart like LOGH did was Aim for the Top! 2 /Diebuster.
They're still the only two shows i've given a 10.

Monster was my favorite before LoGH, it still is my favorite Manga though.

As for anime, NGE used to be my favorite.

Nice idea for a thread actually, for many of us it seems that LOGH has changed it all.

My number one was formerly Samurai Champloo, and I thought it was going to stay that way for a very long time. I had always had some annoyances with every series that I gave a 10/10 out to, but then came along LOGH to force me to completely reformat my rating system [for the better of course]. And I should probably mention that I have currently only experienced 1/3 of the Legend thus far (been that way for a long time now), but the plan is to span the first-viewing out for as long as possible, that's the plan anyways...

Mobile Suit Gundam: the 08th MS Team. It was the first anime I ever saw on TV, bought on DVDs, collected figures, actively enjoyed and thought about. Since viewing LOGH in conjunction with the rest of the Gundam series over the years, it has fallen of my favorites. I may go back and re-watch it to see how it holds up.

My favorite title back then was Samurai Champloo. After watching LOGH, it still is. I recognize how awesome LOGH is, but my favorites will remain as such.

Mononoke. The only difference in my favorites after watching LOGH was placing it at the top - but many ratings were changed.

Not any single one, but I recall NGE (EOE especially), as well as Hellsing Ultimate used to rank high up there.

Hard to say... I'm thinking it either dethroned Zeta Gundam or Monster.

Hard to put up Votoms against it though (another huge favorite), since I watched it during my LOGH watch.

Never say never, but now I'm pretty sure LOGH will be comfy on my #1 spot for years and years and years...

Mmmh... I don't think it dethroned anything in my fav as I try not to compare shows with each others, especially when they are different. And I had never really watched a show of this genre before, so there was no competitor...
I consider all my favorites to be more or less equal in term of personnal enjoyment because the reasons that make you love an anime like LOGH are obviously different from those which would make you love something like Wolf's rain. And to love one don't make me think less of another.
The real change came in my favorite characters list. I had a hard time trying to decide who should stay, Reinhard or Oberstein, and as I couldn't decide, I let both. I still think Reunental should have his place here too, but I don't want to create a LOGH only character list u_u

Actually it's precise to say that from time to time i should enlarge my top list. It's consisted of GaoGaiGar, Armored Trooper Votoms, Mobile Police Patlabor and a bit more series i really adore.
But above all of them till the time i watched LoGH was Turn A Gundam.

It still feels strange--almost bad--to not call it my favorite anymore, though. Oh, LOGH, what you do to us...

BTW yeah, nice idea for a thread.

Hunter x Hunter and Hunter x Hunter still is my favorite title. I also have not dethroned any anime favs so far, though I am considering it. If I do, LoGH may well place in the second or third slot, though even if my other favs are nothing compared to LoGH, they have their own charm and sentiments and characters which brought me to favorite the anime in the first place and I am not sure how easily I want to change that.

I'm not sure what my absolute favorite series was, but I know one that left a lasting impression on me was the Giant Robo OAVs. I feel that those OAVs along LoGH are one of few anime you could consider an "Epic"

Hunter x Hunter had been my favorite for 5 years, but after completing LOGH, it was soundly dethroned. It pained me slightly when I first realized it, that Hunter wouldn't hold that most special place in my anime-loving heart anymore, but I'd be lying to myself if I didn't acknowledge my adoration of LOGH by placing it at #1. There's nothing like it, and that's probably a good thing. It'd be unhealthy to have too many obsessions of that degree.

I just finished the 3rd season and without any thoughts or regrets, it totally dethroned Hunter X Hunter, which has been my favorite for about 6 years.

Dragonball Z was my first anime 15 years ago, and after rewatching it numerous times over the past few years with a plethora of different dubs it retained my Eternal Favorite spot, along with its earlier half Dragon Ball.

NHK hit me out of nowhere, and it was equal to DBZ in my eyes, but the Nostalgia gave the theoretical edge to DBZ.

I never expected my Elite to be challenged, not even by a longshot.

After having Logh on my Plan to Watch list for ages, i gave it a shot with high hopes for it to be at the least a Power.

I did not foresee it being clearly the Best Anime Ever. DBZ will always be my favorite, but there is no doubt that LOGH is the Greatest of All Time.

Also Yang Wenli dethroned Son, Goku at the top (the only one that can beat him). I certainly didn't foresee that coming, but after finishing season 3 of Logh there could no longer be any doubt. Months later and there is still a Void in my Heart that likely will never heal.

Though lone wolf and cub and mushishi will give it close competition if mangas are to be considered

LoTGH is definitely the best long running TV drama I've seen.

Position was held previously by Bleach, it wasn't much of a competition.
Monster is definitely better than LoTGH, but it never attempted comedy or romance so it's in another category for me.
