Heh, trying to defeat Juuzou with a gun is a mistake.

Mary Steinberg is also pretty intimidating with her experiments. As far as the storytelling goes, it seems there's plenty of shady characters in the underworld. Someone like Juuzou isn't afraid to take risks but I assume others are vulnerable in such a society.

Quite a thrilling episode imo.

I wonder if it's easier to create 3d graphics with Unreal Engine (which seems to be used here) comparing to other ways. 3d elements look better and have better framerate in this show.

I'm not really into the plot, but it's nonetheless pretty enjoyable.

Only 2 episodes have aired and already the second season is announced? WOW!!! If the rest of this season will be as good as 2 episodes we have now, I will watch it. The best show of autumn IMHO.
The second episode went smooth and fast and I left with a feeling that it just has started. I need more of this shit.

This show just oozes style like nothing I've seen in recent memory, OP, ED, art style and that jazz soundtrack alike. Looking foward to this.

Man, Madhouse is killing it with this series in a very fascinating way. And a 2-cour to boot, albeit split-cour.

Juuzou is such a badass, and new girly human-cyborg character Mary is such a goof-ball. Searching for his favourite cigarette is definitely a pain in the butt.

However the corporation after the test subject (Tetsuro) is such an epidemic, Juuzou decides to give them a taste of their own medicine, with Mary in the background.

What an episode. Definitely having fun with this show.

I almost fell asleep this episode to be honest. I expected more of the dialogue and characters, even the setting has been underwhelming despite the highly stylized art. Hope it can still surprise me, but this episode was weak to me and it seemed to lack heart.

Well be patient , according to what I heard, 1st arc is about world building and to just let you know of the organizations or whatever is happening.
Then onwards it's fully action packed like opm . Ever wondered why they are going all out cgi in background?
It's like vinland saga on starting , except this is more complex.

I'm loving Juuzo's character so far, funny and tough. I also think Mary is cool.

So far pretty good. The exposition about the cigarettes was really on the nose. I wish they could have been a little more natural delivery that information. Even if it was less specific.

It's quite a surprise to see Unreal Engine being used in anime production. I don't know if it's easier to create 3D graphics on the Unreal Engine, but a team with the know-how can make some crazy good stuff. Just look at some Arc System Works games like Guilty Gear Xrd, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Granblue Fantasy Versus. They took anime fighters to a whole new level with their amazing 3D art work. But I digress. Maybe it actually is easier to create 3D graphics using the Unreal Engine, who knows.

Man, I am just really enjoying this anime so far. I love Juuzo so much. The new blonde girl was very funny and reminded me of an archetype of female characters that were in a lot of late 1990s/early 2000s anime. It is an archetype I love. I was kind of hoping Juuzo would choose the cigarettes over the boy. That would have been funny. But Juuzo doesn't seem like the type of guy to give into corrupt people.
Either way, another good episode. I'm actually excited for new episodes with this anime.

We're on the same wavelength. This is definitely the AOTS so far. If this show stays consistently good, I may end up bumping it up to an 8 or 9. I feel upset when an episode ends. It makes you crave more of these characters, you know?

It was okay. 3/5. Sad it has that shounen-feeling cause of some unneccessary comedy (while being seinen). The plot/action seem like they could be okay. I had expected a bit more after episode 1.

But I don't know yet. Waiting for episode 3 then deciding. Surely watching it 1-cour might be possible. I don't think I could get long-term interested (for the 2nd cour or even more after that best would be full adaption in 2 cours).

The best at this show are the OP/ED. OP music is one of the better ones this season.

This needs more full action and pressure (constant thread and the company guys attacking). If they get more calm scenes with "time to breath" with comedy fit in (the jokes about gun-head guy having seen the naked girl that got repaired by mechanics girl) it will only get worse and not better.

I don't see how this is more complex. Exposition was done in a very ordinary way, on the level of your average battle shounen and not even establishing much about the world or characers. Just characters telling each other things that they already know, so contrived and simple to deliver information to the viewer. Vinland Saga did it in a more skillfull way, in 2 episodes we gained way more characterization, world building, plot development and it all flowed perfectly.

Talking about Guilty Gear, it feels like Zato left Venom to some Cyber-punk city, and here Venom become a Gunhead.

This episode was delivered in a very boring fashion that quickly saw me lose interest (seriously, the "As you know" style of exposition is just the worst and the laziest way to go about it, and that was 80% of this episode), and that's even before the out-of-place comedy. What is this, a shounen masquerading as hard-boiled sci-fi drama?

I'll give this one more episode until I decide whether to stick with it or move on.

No it's a seinen, and a pretty obvious one to notice it, i really don't know where you saw any "shounen" thing in this series
