| There was a late Antique saint from Syria called Simeon Stylitzes or Simeon of the pillar who apparently after trying caves and the like settled for living on a pillar as a hermit to get away from soceity, materialisim etc. only it's pretty noticeable living on a pillar and his fame spread and people kept coming to him for advice, apparently he was pretty good at it for a guy who thought living on a pillar to get away from soceity was a good life decision, even an emperor is supposed to have wrote to him and he inspired a whole series of hermit imitators. Anyway I was involved in student revue's at university for students in the ancient history department and wrote a skit where Simeon was a kind of celebrity psychiatrist trying to deal with the infamous relationship problems between the emperor Nero and his mother (obviusly with little success), I also played Simeon in said skit. I'm now basically a hermit myself living an isolated anti-social life on a mountain so I figured a hermit making pronouncements from on high fit a history nut shut-in rating anime from his mountain abode. TLDR version: There was a saint by that name. I wrote and played him in a comedy skit. |

| this is my fourth username since my join date and i suppose probably my least interesting - that being said, i do still like it though i also think it no longer suits me anymore. at the time i just felt like i wanted a softer name and one that would fit all the layouts and sets i'd been using then. |
