Hello! I'm new to mangas (I've watched anime for years tho), and yesterday I started Horimiya (and finished what is out today), but now I have to wait a whole month for one chapter... Which I can read in 10 minutes?

How do you guys and girls deal with waiting so much for just a little bit? And also sometimes in Horimiya the chapter focused on a side character I didnt care about, so it must suck waiting a whole month just for that

One month? Be happy your author doesn't take a 5-6 month break like the author of my favourite manga often does nowadays.

I just read other manga or watch anime while I wait, I guess. Patience is key.

Sounds harsh.. Was it Noragami by any chance?

Berserk.

I will never drop the manga though. It means too much to me.

I don't have huge problem with it, although it was similar case for me when I started reading manga that were still coming out. Now I'm pretty much used to it, although when I read amazing chapter I still feel hyped, excited and slightly annoyed that I have to wait again :< Might be why I prefer reading a volume and then waiting a few months to read another one, rather than completing a single chapter within 10-15 minutes and waiting another 30 days for the continuation. Then again, reading theories and comments on the most recent chapter are very fun as well, so it's a difficult choice, sigh...

I don't deal with it.

I read only complete manga, or 100% episodic ones.

I've dropped almost every manga that require waiting. Just kept a few that I REALLY like, even if I've accepted in my heart that at least two of those are already dead. It just isnt realistic in the long term, when things that I could read right now inevitably take higher priority.

I've had plenty of series go into hiatus, have on chapter every so so years and what not. And the worst: series suddenly stopping

Waiting a month for a series is nothing. Especially if some of the ones you're following just stopped with no conclusion or anything (rip Beet the Vandel Buster, Ragnarok, Kaze no Stigma, Highschool of the Dead and Shindere Shoujo)

By reading other stuff as well, the wait just feels shorter when you keep updating other series.

Anyways, tbh I prefer weekly manga 100x more than monthly ones, the waiting time is just too long.

I'm currently reading a few ongoing mangas. Most of their updates are weekly except for noragami when will adachitoka be back, the last chapter is still killing me ugh
What I usually do is just simply wait while reading completed mangas.

But there are also some cases where the scanlation groups quit scanlating one of their projects and no one continues it.

By reading more manga. If you pick up enough series you have something to read everyday

There are so many good mangas and animes, so you dont need to wait like Hachiko.
“All men are jealous idiots. And women are stupid too, to feel happy about it. It's true, there are idiots everywhere!”

“I know it's difficult to look past my brilliant tail, brain and looks, but I also have excellent ears and eyes.”

“I need to have a drink, and I need one soon!”

“I am Holo the Wise Wolf so you shut up!”

On-Hold section

I can't stand reading only one chapter per month so i prefer to not read at all, once it's finished i'll get back to reading (or probably re-read everything). I'm actually doing this with weekly stuff like TG:Re too... I just prefer this way.

The exceptions would be totally episodic things or 4koma, they're easy to digest and there isn't any plotline to follow so it doesn't bother me at all.

read other manga, play games, watch anime, and live life

if you have a problem with waiting a month, try waiting for Berserk and Hunter x Hunter

You just have to deal with it unfortunetally... You start reading other complete or weekly manga till the next update comes

[I have read god knows how many manga that are complete and havent had an update in years bc the translation team droped them... ]

I actually prefer monthly releases cause of my tight sched., daily (games/novels/games/manga/anime/games/studies/parties/etc./games/ with at least 5 hrs of sleep) so I'm not dealing with anything for that.

Before telling yourself it's like having your skin ripped off with a blunt chainsaw, think about how much that would actually hurt. Then bang your head against a table and seriously ask yourself which option sucks more.

Once I get up-to-date on a publishing manga I put it on hold and move on to other stuff. Then I get the new completed volume when it comes out so I have more content to binge on. There's so much manga out there that I can wait and it's not like there's a choice in the matter anyway.

1 month ain't that much for me since time runs fast for me and one month passes quickly. Be happy that the manga you read isn't on a hiatus like my favorite series. Noragami has been on hiatus for 4 or 5 months and I'm losing patience.
Help the industry and buy Blu-rays and DVD's.
Noragami is the best anime ever.

Easy, I read a ton of other things in-between, so I don't really notice how the time passes :D And for the last few years, I rarely pick up ongoing series. I prefer to stick with finished ones so I won't have to worry about the next chapter or if it will ever be scanlated... I still have some manga from almost 10 years ago that I can't finish because the project was abandoned :|

take solace in the fact that it's not Berserk or Hunter x Hunter you're waiting for. A one month hiatus is nothing.

Lol, I knew it was Berserk. With the last chapter I waited a couple months to read it hoping to have a backlog log to do a mini marathon.

Then this

MFW Miura goes on break.

That's why I don't reallty read mangas that still publishing. It a time in a past I did read a monthly manga. What I do to forget the waiting for new chapter is to do other things to forget the waiting.

Set up so that you get an e-mail when the next chapter is released and forget about it.
Is this business you'll likely at some point have to wait months for another chapter and many years for the conclusion of a series. And there is nothing we can do about that.
So when you see yourself in this situation, look for some other manga to read. Maybe a complete series, maybe fill up with ongoing works so that there is new stuff all the time.

I just stop reading it and come back like a 4 months or a year later. It gets really annoying and makes me want to just stop reading all on-going mangas.

I normally just read completed series, or if not, I read in chunks of 5 or so volumes. (I only read physical) I don't know if I could deal with reading chapter by chapter, especially for a long series.

By reading other manga, time really flies if you do that, and it dose not come down to waiting and counting days when you have other interesting books. I also avoid following too many ongoing manga, for now there is only Berserk and Attack on Titan, I started with My Hero Academia as well but we will see how that goes.

The only manga I've read monthly while it was ongoing was Kyou Kara MA no Tsugu Jiyuugyou which wasn't very regular. At first I used to get impatient and go over previous chapter over and over again and discuss about them in fb groups but the manga turned into complete crap, had the worst plot and character development towards the end. It made me regret wasting my time (and even money since I used to buy when a new volume was out). Even it's fan-translators are shits who put in stupid and annoying notes and sometimes even make incorrect translations.

I've only been reading raw manga volume wise ever since, most of which are completed. If it's ongoing and I reach the latest volume then I just wait for till the next volume is out and most probably becomes available to download. Waiting for 6 or more months doesn't really bother me unless the last volume ended as a cliff hanger.

don't really read manga at all so not had to encounter this problem, but I have currently started a manga that is still publishing, and judging on the comments it's once a month so once I am caught up I will be having to wait, don't really see it being too much of an issue, probably just read another manga, watch some anime, a full time job and other commitments already limit my reading/watching time nowadays so it shouldn't hinder me too much....

at least I know now not to start hunter x hunter (a manga I genuinely was going to start reading at some point) haha xD

Reading too many mangas that have monthly releases or often go into hiatuses, I usually get into new anime/manga to keep myself occupied or even read fanfictions sometimes.
