I regret spending time on mal instead of just watching anime...

Jokes aside, I really don't regret watching anime and I find it the list function of mal helps to further my conviction.

I have been watching anime for about 7 or 8 years now, and looking back I can't believe how much time I wasted with this medium. I was looking through my list and counted all the tittles I have completed (166 completed anime). If, for some reason, I could get back the time I lost watching them and forget all about them I would give up those memories in an instant. Out of 166 I wish I could forget 101 tittles and get back all the time lost.

I still enjoy some anime since there are a few shows I keep up with. But in general, there are so many things I dislike now such as : lolis, shipping, slice of life, hentai, tropes, traps, stupid cringey anime reviewers on YouTube, and the list goes on.

It is not that I think anime and its community is bad, what I am saying is that I wish I didn't spend so much time watching anime for the sake of it and treating it as a chore rather than entertainment.
166 anime in 7-8 years and you think thats a lot of time on this medium? 134 days ontop of that? Topkek.

Answer - No.

Nah. I haven't watched that much in the first place, and I've never put off anything significant in my life to watch anime.

Though I do regret watching shows that I dropped in the first episode, eg Fuuka. Those are just time wasters.

I only regret watching a shitty or extremely boring anime. Just watching a single episode of it feels like I wasted years of my life.

I think I regret more of the efforts that I put up during my studies and only 30% of them are like useful. lol

Anyway, I enjoy every minute I use to watch anime.. way much better than being dragged by my friends outside XD

I regret not being able to watch anime for 8 years because of school and college. I'd rather waste time watching anime than learning about stuff that I don't care about.

I don't regret watching a lot of animes back then (6+ years ago). I also miss watching that many animes. Back then they never got boring and disconnected me from the real world like nothing else... but now I feel like there is currently nothing that hooks me. After watching one episode of an Anime it already feels like a chore to me... I really wished I could start binge watch shows again, but it ain't working v.v

Maybe I will in the future. Right now, I don't. I love watching anime and I love writing about it. It helped me a lot in judging art, exposing myself to idea, writing and connecting to other anime fans. In a way, I didn't have much else to do at that time so why not?

There's the odd movie which makes me wonder why I bothered completing it. For the most part I enjoy what I watch, so overall I would say no.

Nope. It's just like how people watch dramas (live-action) all the time. It can be an escape. Also, I see it very similar to books. It's exciting, you can be engrossed in new stories, new adventures, places, new ways of looking at things, makes you think, the art can be beautiful, music amazing, cool characters, something that makes you laugh, etc. Definitely not time wasted.

I don't regret a second of any anime I've watched, even the ones I didn't like. It's a hobby, I think regretting "wasting" time on a hobby is a waste of time itself.

There are a few anime I want to unsee. Like Freezing or Angel Core.
I also feel that time spent on a few long-running shounen, like Naruto Filler Hell, was spent badly and I would rather spend it on something else.
But in general, I'm okay with the way I spent my time on anime. I would have done something equally useless otherwise, like games.

In some cases, yes.
For the most part - no.

The time is not wasted as long as you enjoyed it. And didn't put off other important things to do so. Ofc I'd love to get my time back for some anime that I hated but in some cases, even my low ratings were enjoyable in one way or another. Certainly they were valuable experiences to get a better picture of anime as a whole.

Although I watched over 200eps of bleach, over 200eps of Naruto Shippuden but never came to complete any of them... not to mention, I've watched over 500eps of OP and I don't plan on catching up... like ever. Kinda regret that. All that time could've gone towards much better anime *sighs

Sometimes. XD
I do regret it sometimes because instead of studying , i end-up watching anime. I mean, omg i should study specially if i have upcoming exams and quizzes..but in the end, i end up watching anime or reading manga. And the result, i got LOW score . T^T It makes me cry every time i see my grades. XD

No, I wouldn't watch it in the first place if I wasn't enjoying it. That also includes the anime I rated 1 or 2 on my list because some of them can be so bad it's laughable.

Haha yes and no, honestly. Watching anime detracts me from my responsibilities via the real world, but it has its pros and cons. As a stress reliever however, no I can't bother regretting it much.

Ive spent more time on Skyrim than I have watching anime. I regret watching some shows, but I couldn't regret something I do for entertainment in my free time.
