THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Not much action this episode but I think the buildup is worth it. Considering that Tekkadan needs to build their future and on their move now.

McGillis is a clever man so working with him could work out for Tekkadan. We should be seeing a bit of action soon with Orga and the others being confronted. Damn it, cliffhanger. I hope McGillis knows what he's doing as they are defenseless. Machines are scary.

The ending alone made that all worth it.

So all this time we've been worrying about Rustal and Teiwaz, but actually it's the MACHINES that we have to look out for.

It seems MSs were created specifically to combat MAs which don't have pilots but instead run by AI.

And they introduced beam weapons here with the gigantic Hashmal unit. This is going to be interesting.

Mobile Armors are the Skynet alright... technology going berserk and turning on its creators. They were what put the human race on the brink of extinction and what Mobiles suits fought against to end the Calamity war. Emotionless AI that has no qualms whatsoever about destroying cities and killing millions. McGillis specifically asked Orga not to take any Mobile suits to escort them to the mine, but that fool Kujan went and activated the one Tekkadan found anyway. And now McGillis and Orga's group is defenseless, with no way to call reinforcements because LCS comms are out of range, with a Mobile Armor on a rampage.

Wow, this episode. That ending. We fighting AI now.

Lot of revelations about the past calamity war, Mobile Armor, Order of the Seven Stars, The reasoning behind the creation of Mobile Suits. Wonder if Humanity succeeded in creating an Artificial Super Intelligence back during the calamity War. I don't see why they would create such machines themselves, Rogue AI wishing for human extinction seems much more likely.

Damn, Kujan stepped into the range of the Mobile armor despite Fareed telling him not to and now they've awoken it. That awakening scene gave me chills.

Maybe the base can send out reinforcements of their own accord, After hearing Saisei's incident. They might send out Barbatos alone just as a precaution. If not, Hopefully Kujan can deal with this beast(machine).

leaked information, a mobile armor got activated because of Iok's stupidity. I hope he got destroyed by that mobile armor.

There is little action and I hope I can see Mikazuki in action again, seeing him fight in the barbatos is never boring. also the information about the use of mobile armor in the calamity era is really scary. a machine that can activate itself when it senses a mobile suit and a machine that can kill lots of people.

Hope they can take care every last of the mobile armor soon, really looking forward to the next episode

They surely build things to last. It was lying around for 300 years ...

Even though, I need to wonder why McGillis & Orga group didn't experienced any tremors when huge machine raised and starts blasting everything. Lazy animation.

To be fair, he probably didn't have slightest idea how Mobile Armor works and most likely didn't know it is completely autonomous sleeping AI that might activate any time all of the sudden. Honestly, what were the chances it would? He probably thought he will bring some firepower, keep blasting the dead, immobile wreck and get promotion out of it, because that's how it was explained to him. Considering Galladhorn chronic backstabbing disorder within their ranks, it is very likely Iok wasn't told everything (while being stupid enough to not ask)

That mobile armor was surprisingly still operational under that crater after centuries and what a surprise, it has the one thing missing from this Gundam installment, a beam weapon. It reminds me of Armored Core and how poorly handled some of the lost technology was in that franchise.

Naive? you meant, He intentionally used Iok to make trouble in Mcgillis life again. Compared to Vidar and Julietta, Iok is an easy pawn to move around, he's emotional and kinda stupid.

Let's say that he actually knows that the MA will activate and go into a rampage, isn't that easier to remove McGillis from the political stage rather than outright killing him.

It's great if the Mobile Armor's used as a catalyst for power struggle between factions instead, rather than suppressing it.

Kudellia's concerns over Tekkadan boy's well being is so sweet, and her worries very valid. I'm glad that they have someone like her to manage their assets.

Now we get to watch them revive old age military tech and fight with it all over again. Not sure why, but I'm getting Gundam X vibes here.

Looks like they woke up the reapers? SOVEREIGN! "You exist, because we allow it. And you will end, because we demand it."

Pretty excited for this plot development. The 2nd season has been kind of slow and not as interesting as I hoped but this stuff with the mobile armors is REALLY interesting. Mika's eye activating was really interesting too. So I guess since the mobile frames were made to hunt the mobile armors and he has piloted Barbatos so much his eye and maybe his arm will activate when a mobile armor activates? I am REALLY looking forward to the next episode.

This is a side story. Don't think it will matter. Less interesting to write too.

Real question is what was McGillis' original plans. We know he wasn't intending to outright destroy it. He also didn't want the rest of Gallahorn to know. The gundamy thing is to go into another super robot like the end of season 1. I think there's going to be a link to the child soldier nanobots.

Nah I doubt it. I've seen the previews for the next few episodes and this battle with the Mobile Armor is just going to be another event in the political proxy, cold war that's been going on throughout the season so far. That isn't changing anytime soon.

When I saw him say that I thought he leaked his own movements and the existence of the Mobile Armor to the other Gjallarhorn faction so that they'd go in guns blazing and inadvertedly activate the Mobile Armor...that way their reputation would be gutted, another McGillis rival would be gone and he'd get even more prestige for maybe handling the threat.

Despite how he's portrayed I always think McGillis always has an ulterior motive behind everything he does, he is this series Char after all.

What learned in this episode: Listen when someone tells you to not step any closer.

That MA will go berserk. -.-
It's already too late whatever McGillis is planning to do with it because its already awake.
I just do hope they can stop that from destroying everything.

I'm starting to like Hush and him wanting to follow Mikazuki anywhere, even though it annoys the latter. Also him from trying to guess what relationship Mikazuki and Kudelia had.
I really like the Fumitan Admoss Elementary School that Kudelia established. Education is really important.

All in all I like the episode. ;)

Never imagined that unmanned machines will be enemies to the world. I really have a bad feeling as I think a lot of people will die at the hand of those machines.

I like that Chad is still in a state of shock over Nadi and Merribit's relationship. Could it be that Chad had a thing for Merribit and that's why he looked upset this episode? Well, I wouldn't be surprised as boys their age tend to get attracted to older women, right?
So Shino is still playing around with women, huh? That would sure disappoint Yamagi but I guess he knows Shino well by now. I'm curious what Zack was about to say that Shino desperately stopped him. I wonder what happened the night they went out to play with women.
I like Eugene and I respect him for realizing that he won't gain anything by playing with women. It's a temporary pleasure that won't bring him long-lasting satisfaction. Hope he finds himself a nice girl in the future.

Iok can get on my nerves but I don't really dislike him. He's just stupid and will do anything to impress his superiors. I can see him being played by the likes of Jasley.

I'm really curious about McGillis' true intentions. I don't see him betraying Tekkadan as I think he needs them but I also don't think their relationship will remain the same.

I liked that Kudelia founded a school under Fumitan's name. It's really admirable and noble and shows just how much Fumitan meant to her. Fumitan might have been a spy but she died saving Kudelia at the end.
I hope Mikazuki lives to use the money he is saving in the future. I want to see him living a peaceful life but who knows if this will ever happen. :( I hate to think that the chances of both Mikazuki and Orga surviving till the end are very low. I don't want Atra to die as well but I think the chances of it happening are pretty high.

Looking forward to the next episode and see what those mobile armors do.
