720P is blurrier, therefore I watch in 1080P, if it's available.

I've heard that 1080p is usually an upscale because most anime are produced in 720p, but I do notice a quality difference, so I watch 1080p. I'll use 720p if I have to, though.

It's easier to see flaws in the animation in 1080p, and it also makes most toaster computers lag, so 720p all the way.

Depends the crunchyroll player sucks so I usually watch it in 720 so it doesn't buffer quite as slow. If I'm using funimation Ill watch in 1080

To be honest though I really don't see a difference.

720p most of the time since I watch a lot of series while or shortly after they've aired. No need to go for upscales.

When it comes to movies, remastered stuff or just anime with great visuals I'd go for 1080p if available. Urusei Yatsura has been a blast in 1080p for example.
I probably regret this post by now.

1080p if its available otherwise i just watch 720p, idk why but some animes look blurry even if im watching in 720p (not all just older anime's) 1080 is the best you can get so why not go for it unless u have problems with internet, slow download etc

720p will do you just fine, but I don't really have a reason to not use 1080p if it's available (which it almost always is) so I pretty much always watch 1080p

360p on my phone, 720p on my tablet/pc, 1080p for some shows which otherwise look really blurry on my TV screen. In general I prefer 720p for being smaller and still looking nice on my tablet, but I've never actually put a 720p and 1080p file of the same episode next to each other

I usually watch 480p on my galaxy S7, and 480p on small screen looks very good

Even 360p (720x360) can look good as long as the encoding quality is good and bit rate is not so low

Does anime even require that high a resolution? 480p is enough I think. I watch anime on my laptop so I use 720p because my WiFi can stream 720p without buffering. 720p is still HD anyway.

I always download 1080p and 10bit if possible.

I also use madVR filter with Lanczos codec in MPC-HC to upscale 720p/1080p to 1440p on my 34" Ultrawide, the sharpness really shows. Shows must be enjoyed at their peak potential imo plus i have a pretty insanely spec'd PC so i might as well make good use of it.

Lanczos upsampling is nearly flawless ^

I watch in 720p with MADshi Video Renderer which makes it look almost 1080p. Best VR out there if you have good Graphic card to handle it. Check it.
dont't watch that anime if you are going to give it 1* and cry 10000 words in review about it.

I use both. When I feel like watching in my phone /tab /laptop, I go for 720p. And when I watch them in my desktop, it's 1080p.

It also varies by what kind of release I'm downloading....
If I'm downloading an ongoing series, then it's always 720p cause 1080p would be just an upscale anyway..
But when I go for the BD releases, I try to go for the 1080p version

Do you stream online when you use phone/tablet or you DL anime in your laptop and put the EP in your phone/tablet and watch it in that thing?

Nope. I just keep torrenting / downloading from encode sites with my both my phone and laptop via WiFi. And store them in my desktop hdd later..

Whatever I'm given unless the video is buffering like crazy and it's taking forever to watch the show, then I choose the smallest size usually SD.

640x...
640x480 for 4/3 videos, 640x359 or x360 for 16/9 if possible when I want to watch something on TV/DVD. (720x ... in extreme cases)

On the computer, I can go up to 1080x ... if there is no other possibility.

The bigger the resolution is, the blurrier my eyes become (at least it is not as bad with anime as it is when I try to watch videogames or live videos in big resolutions)

It's nothing complex. I just like to store everything in my desktop since I have a huge amount of space there >.<

Method 1: Download in my Phone/laptop and watch it there. Move it to my desktop later.
Method 2: Download in desktop. Copy to phone /laptop to watch . Watch and delete.

I usually don't like to stream unless I'm almost out of space since most of the online streaming sites have pretty low quality compared to downloads :3

What, those are the only two options? Many older titles aren't even available in 720p or higher to begin with. I don't see that much difference between 480p/576p and 720p, so I DL/watch in SD when possible and when source/subtitle quality is comparable. That is, I'd go for 720p uncensored BD with good fan-edited subs over HorribleSubs 480p stream-rips, but in the event that 480p BD versions are available, I get them every time.

2:1 aspect ratio anime? What? 360p is generally 480x360 or 640x360.
