There definitely needs to be a 2nd season, theres too many factions at play and alot of ambiguity to what mcgillis is trying to do. I cant imagine this wrapping up in only 9 episodes. There needs to be a 2nd season or the show is bust.

You know they have an OST album released with the official title: "Kidou Senshi Gundam Tekketsu no Orphans Season 1 OST."

That's good to hear, if Season 2 happens I hope there is a timeskip to see the cast older and more adult.

Aaaand Fumitan's dead.
It was pretty obvious but still, it was pretty damn good.
And with this, the killing of the Tekkadan has begun.

This was as predictable a death can get...
Actually, the last 2 episodes had too many poorly executed scenes in general, let's hope as we go back to space the quality picks ups as well.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

It was hard to watch the smokescreen go up and hear people dying, especially how the Union tried to stop the rest from shooting back at the Gjallarhorn. They weren't the ones who started it. And then Kudelia holding the person in her arms, asking why. It all build up to the heartwrenching scene where Fumitan sacrifices herself. I didn't think I would cry for Fumitan but they did a really good job this episode setting up for her death. I understand Fumitan's view of Kudelia very well. When you've seen a lot more than a sheltered person, you can't help but hate those bright eyes, because you can't see the hope. Yet in the end, you can't hate that person either, for the exact same reason. People are attracted to the light, and they want to see hope even if they consciously deny it. I like how Fumitan never wearing the necklace was not because she would "betray" Kudelia, but it was because she felt unworthy of it. And that's just sad, because it makes further shows Fumitan's complicated feelings towards Kudelia. Also, Mika's words that "that is no longer Fumitan" was a shock . Not in a good or bad way, but it was shocking to me. But also very Mika.

Teiwaz leader at the end though. Guess he wants profit just like everyone else...?

The moment we saw Fumitan take a breath seeing Kudelia closeby TV, while one of those snipers from Gjallarhorn said "She's tough. She's still alive.", was when you knew, Fumitan was done for. R.I.P.

The death tool's high this week on both Iron-Blooded Orphans & Schwarzesmarken, though IBO definitely had more impact due to the all the buildup.

Whats even more interesting is how are protagonists are mainly a mercenary group that didn't really want to get caught between all this. Thought clash with Gjallarhorn will be inevitable eventually.

well that was fairly good, well except for how Kudelia was able to just magically be the only one to survive that fucking sweep, that was stupid. They're supposed to explain that away by having the workers eat all the bullets for her, but they fucked up the layout for the shot and it just looks bad.

that aside I do like the direction they're going with this. One now wonders whether or not they will be able to conclude this neatly with the episodes they have left because it feels like we're just getting started.

Another wonderful episode. While Fumitan's death was a long time coming and fairly obvious, it still had an impact due to this show's excellent characterization. I predict some major character development for Kudelia in the coming episodes, and of course some great action - looking forward to it.

Everything happened as expected. GH did the dick move and massacred the workers, Fumitan sacrificed herself to save the airheaded Kudelia. Just wow. Perfectly executed.

I'm tried to force away the tears because stupid Fumitan deserved it. But its still so sad, why do they always change their mind last minute!

I knew it. My friend was telling me that the death flags wouldn't work, but I knew they would for Fumitan. RIP. That was sad.

The brutality of Gjallarhorn made me cringe a bit. A full massacre is just... wrong. Ugh, I hate politics and this kind of violence.

What an episode, The tension, The ominous death flag. I was speechless throughout.

That massacre, No shit given by Gjallarhorn. Just straight out massacre.

I expected Fumitan to die saving her but it was still really sad.

Kudelia has finally seen the reality of war, Perhaps now she will finally rise up now as a true Maiden of the Revolution.

Hope the rebels will take down the Gjallarhorn.
If Teiwaz will ally to Gjallarhonr, Tekkadan will be their Nº1 enemy, can't believe that they are doing this...

Can anybody help explain what military/security factions were at play during the blockade of the colony group? I heard them talking about one security faction starting with a T earth protection fleet etc.(Can't check atm), then another L7 or something of the sort also showing up (Right before/during the discussion on the bridge of the Gjallarhorn ship outside the colonies waiting for entry.

Damn this sucks for Tekkadan they were used with the weapons cargo and now those scrub Gallahorn faked getting attacked, mowed down a bunch of people who didn't even attack them at the start, and now Tekkadan is going to get drawn into this junk.

It is kind of odd that Kudelia seems like the only person to survive that sweep who was standing out in the open, but I'm guessing that girl who died in her arms and maybe a few others that were around her dove on top of her to prevent her from getting shot. Still kind of unbelievable if they did a bullet sweep like that though with high powered ammo that even goes through tanks should go through bodies like swiss cheese. And also that sniper round should have went through both Fumitan and Kudelia unless she moved Kudelias body out of the way in the process.

Kudelias def got some plot armor in this episode but it was decent none the less.

Me too here. I feel bad for Savarin's despair more than Fumitan's death, mostly because her death is so predictable.

Not sure why everyone is sad about Fumitan, she dug her own grave.

A) She would have been fine if she just stuck with Tekkedan.
B) The gang is now stuck there because of her antics.

A) I don't think it's as easy as that. She'll have to do her "part" eventually. You don't mess with the mob.

B ) The moment they accepted Kudelia's escort mission and being affiliated with Teiwaz in the process sealed their fate. With or without Fumi, they would have been screwed regardless.

The character designs were a little off-key this episode, IMO- not in the sense of bad drawing, but rather that the designs don't really fit the mood- for example, Kudelia looked way too calm for someone who'd just seen their mentor killed before their eyes. But other than that (which is actually pretty important to me), it was a really good episode. Looks like I've got an excuse to properly check up on my history lessons now, lol.

Somehow i feel bad for Biscuit's big brother. I think he just wanted to help, but yeah he did it in the wrong way (if we look from main character perspective) but it was still reasonable.

And R.I.P Fumitan, i really hope she do not die since last episode but well, her death flag has been flailing too high. It couldn't be helped
