THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
It was an okay episode. Animation was so-so imo but it captured the overall premise well.

Well that was fast. Saburou is quite the ladies' man ;) I thought the episode was overall relaxing but wasn't too impressive. I'll give it a few more episodes to see where it goes. Quite refreshing atmosphere though.

KajiKaji's character/real Nobu is physically weak, and changed position with Mamo's character/from present time. He tries to get used to the life of Nobu with Mizuki-san's character as fiancé. Uchiyama-san's character is Nobu's brother who seems to argue against Nobu. I'm not sure if real Nobu will be appeared more (unless that a bit ugly guy who appeared at the end is him in disguise, for I feel that he sounds a bit like KajiKaji). Looks like that ED that aired in this ep. is OP instead of ED normally?

It is such a comedy. It as I expected, it is going to feel like sequel to Nobunaga the Fool because of Mamo.

I guess most people are going to be turned off by the art style, CG and rotoscoping.

I think It will only air 1 cour (not sure if it will be only 11 eps. Like noitamina or 12/13 eps just because it is not noitamina, but airing at the same channel) because Ansatesu Kyoushitsu will air at the same time slot on Winter 2015 on Fuji TV.

Isn't Winter 2015 still 2 season away? Doesn't it mean this is going to be 2 cour instead?

Sorry I thought it wrong since my Internet at home is still broken. It should be 2 cours instead, then.

Just noticed the live action drama of this series is scheduled to start on October 2014 which means it's still possible the anime will be 1 cour, assuming the drama is going to airs on the same timeslot replacing the anime.

It wasn't bad. Still going to have to get used to the art, but it seems like it's going to be fun.

I enjoyed it. I loved the OST and the ED especially.
Animation takes some time getting used to but hey, we've got a lot of great shows with weird animation styles recently so I have high hopes for it.

Good to know it'll get some good subs. I'm looking forward because it reminds me of Uta Koi, another historical comedy with weird animation and is very underrated (as well has a top notch cast)

How does that boy know how to ride a horse that well?????

Anyway, this anime blew through my expectations. It was surprisingly very entertaining and funny rather than the more dry tone I had predicted. It hit all the right notes and the MC is a perfect mix of obliviousness and competence. It's a very interesting art style too. It's kind of cheap looking when it comes to the character animation and expression but ridiculously cool looking at other times, with awesome special effects.

I'm so going to be watching this.

Yeah the animation is perfect, I didn't expect this anime to be that good. a lot of hilarious moments and the most interesting and entertaining this is the main character's unpredictability xD you can't ever expect what he's gonna say or do and every time he ends up doing something funny and reckless. He reminds me of Gintoki.

He reminds me more of Luffy than Gintoki honestly, if you were to compare him to shonen MCs. Saburou doesn't have the self awareness and the slightly cynical view Gintoki has. He's more like Luffy with the unpredictable bravado and bizarre thought processes.

He is going to be so much fun to watch.

Found this anime rather interesting. Got some good characters and the mc has a quite nice atitude. Just wish they focused more on him struggling to fit or trying to understand what the hell happened with him but he seems like the calm type. Well I love different anime that might deliver some interesting stuff so I like this one.

The OST alone makes it worth it. It kind of sounds like my favorite Japanese composure Hiroyuki Sawano.

The episode was ok. I know people are tired of Nobunaga Japan really do see him as Cao Cao. lol.

I wish we got more animes on the Heian period.

Miyano Mamoru, how many times do you wanna play Oda Nobunaga????? XD haha!!

The art was a turn-off for me. It was weird but the story had enough interest to let me stay. I thought they covered a lot for a first episode. He already got so used to his lifestyle..

It kind of feels like stop animation, like puppets, especially since they all look so doll like. I really like the humor and the characters. The pacing was a little off and choppy. Overall I plan to watch more of it.

Yeah, pretty nice for a 1 episode OVA... oh, wait

Seriously, it was rushed way too much.
Too much cliche (apart from fact that this whole idea is a cliche of cliches).

I'm starting to think this might not be the masterpiece I expected. Oh well, might still be enjoyable though: the art is good (outside of character design), and there were some precise historical notations, it will probably be fine on that aspect. Acrobat MC isn't great but could be alright, he had some nice moments with Kichou.

I came to see this as an experiment, what I got was an entertaining thrill ride, simplistic, but hits all the right notes. Saburou may be a shounen-esc MC, but he's a hell of a lot more entertaining than you normal beta MC.

This is my hidden gem of the season. Rotoscoping and fresh art? Count me in.
Visually speaking this was better than everything else this season, I mean the CG might be a little a turn off sometimes but that aside, the art style is REALLY wonderful.

As for the VAs, it seems they invested a very large amount of money for that. There are some big names too.

That was the only thing that bugged me the whole episode but I'll turn my eye closed this time. After all it doesn't want to be much realistic since there are time travels lol.

This felt like a big history lesson and best of all not in a boring way. Lol this guy is was too nonchalant about the whole situation. He mentioned that the text book only glosses over the big events, so I wonder how much of Nobunaga's famed cruelty is done by his own volition.

Pretty interesting. Another teenager+Sengoku/Nobunaga series, but this one is well-executed. I don't mind the art style at all, but they really need to improve the facial expression. It's way too stiff and doesn't quite matches the goofy nature of Nobunaga.

That was surprisingly good though a bit annoying during the first couple of minutes. I didn't like the art at first and then as I watched it just clicked. That was my fastest "will take time to get used to" ever haha. I realized why I suddenly liked it: my brain said he looks like a kabuki actor and this looks like a play. Then Saru made an appearance and I thought "ah now it looks like a Japanese screen painting in motion." Brilliant animation.

Also, I can never get tired of watching a show set int he Sengoku period. I'm such a sucker for it and the Heian period.

The good OST helps to offset the "uniqueness" (shall we call it that) of the animation. It somewhere between regular 2D to a 3D model (a la Knights of Sidonia), giving the show, IMO, a South Park-like movements. Overall nice episode

Have to admit, since I didn't see any PVs I was not expecting the art style, with the whole rotoscoping CGI and all that.
I didn't really mind, though. It was odd at first but I could get used to it.
It was funny, the OST was outstanding and I loved the ED (Which I REALLY hope is the OP, because usually in first episodes they use the OP as the ED)
I like the atmosphere, relaxing show, funny characters.

Well that was different and I actually really enjoyed it.
The backgrounds look absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful stuff, like that one scene where he was climbing the cherry blossom.
I also liked the animation, the only thing that I did notice were that their heads were too static at times.

It's Miyano as Nobunaga again and he's still a fool. :]
Top notch seiyuu cast here which I didn't expect since I never came back to check who the VA were going to be.

That EROSU and insect repellant.
Looks like this might end up being be the best anime of the season that people barely watched or cared about.
