| What an episode. Kazama's character has even come a surprisingly long way since he was introduced in the show. I absolutely love how this show has more character development in 9 episodes than most shows will ever have in multiple cours. It's pretty easy when you actually give something of a fuck like Masaaki Yuasa seems to though. graymoontsuki said: agreed its the only anime I'm currently watching weng ge is awesome peco is brilliant cousincest It's not the only show I'm watching this season, but man the contrast between the overall effort and care I see put into making this show what it is and a lot of the other stuff that is really popular this season is just embarrassing. There continues to be something about shows that transcend and operate out of the standard circles of otaku oriented cliched series, it's such a different experience watching this and then watching this and then watching generic light novel adaptation with Brother/Sister MC duo #91247 which I'm pretty sure could describe more shows than it probably should right now. |

| That touching story at the end .... I hope we get to see Smile smile when it's time for Peco vs. Smile. But oh man this anime sure has touched me for a meager 11 episodes. | Peco and Smile definitely need to face each other : I know for certain this will be a splendid match. I felt truly sorry for Akuma and Kazama this episode. The latter because he's playing for all the wrong reasons and completely disregards his own feelings and needs, and the former for realising that right after he quit playing. There's no way now this show doesn't get a ten from me. |

| Nice to see that Kong is not bitter over his loss and can respect the skills of Peco. I've gotta say I never really liked Peco because he always came off as a cocky brat to me but that has completely changed after hearing his monologue. It was just so emotional with the bgm and the little flashback scenes. I almost cried. He's truly like a hero, off to a huge battle even though he's injured for a friend. |

| This is what I'm looking for. Ping Pong The Animation; fully explored characters and development, amazing soundtracks, engaging story, unique animation, and it's done only in 11 episodes. It's currently leaning on 10/10 which will be my first 10 if it keeps up. |

| The bond and backstory with Peco and Smile is amazing. This show never misses a beat, it manages to develop its characters and narrative in such a short amount of time that other series can only dream of. The quality is on another level. Shame on me for not picking this up while it was airing(i thought people calling it AOTS as a meme). I picked it up on whim while listening to some of its tracks by random. It thinks its time for me to evaluate more anime on my own seriously since i almost missed this masterpiece(i dont pay attention to rankings on this site). |

Now this is what you call character development. i just smiled stupidly. ----- haha, the guy in the beginning, still searching his meaning in life :P i knew smile looked up to peco, but no way i would have guessed how he came to do it! so that's why peco called him smile. that's why smile doesn't care that he calls him that. he looked so freaking happy with that trophy in his hands. he knew that he had hurt smile when he left, and he's not about to do it again, even if it means killing his future. that isn't "the power of friendship", that's true broship right there. this isn't about sports and how people feel for them. it's about how much the people care for each other because of the sport. |
