Is it just me, or has the quality dipped a bit on these past couple episodes? The faces seem much less detailed, especially when shown at a distance compared to the first few episodes..

It's called "The Five Wedded Brides", they will share our chad guy Fuutarou of course.

That is not an official title. It was originally put by someone in MU probably using google translator and got copied to MAL like always. It's not uncommon.

The exact translation should be The Five (Equal) Parts Bride. Toubun means something equally divided. The official English title is The Quintessential Quintuplets.

Good to learn more about Ichika she is a pretty likeable character.

Well, they teased us a lot about Ichika lol
Pretty sure many people thought she was taking part of something not so legal. Fortunately we just learnt she tried being an actress... what a relief actually !

I found funny Nino's words to Futoro eheh, looked like it wasn't easy for her !

Miku is already consolidated as best girl, Yotsuba is the genki girl that we all love, Itsuki and Nino are tsunderes and I love tsunderes so although they have not yet shone I see potential in them, especially in Nino. And finally we have Ichika with whom until now I had a neutral feeling, she was a likable girl but her character didn't appeal to me, so I was waiting for an episode focused on her to judge her better and oh God this episode has really made me love her, directly to the second place of my top (Miku-Ichika-Yotsuba-Itsuki-Nino).

Also, I think that the scene when Ichika lets Miku have the firework they picked its a symbolism that she's not going to end up with Futarou. If that ends being true, Kana Hanazawa is indeed cursed.

I really don't get the HanaKana curse. How can someone be cursed when she is pitted against a more adorable/better character? There was only twice when her character didn't win despite of being the better character imo (obviously I won't mention which ones because of spoilers). She has many roles where she got her man. I am sure Nanako will land Eiji as well for an example.

A really nice episode with a good amount of relationship building between the characters, look like Miku is liking Fuutarou more. But I fear that things are looking bleak for this adaptation, such a nice story, but wasted potential. The studio doing this project bit off more than it can chew. It's only a matter of time now then, I guess.

Last week all volumes were present in the top 50, as for The Promised Neverland. And on this last week the three big series sold in total:
- The Promised Neverland: 213,667
- Kaguya-sama: Love is War: 131,456
- Go-Tobun no Hanayome: 109,823

Knowing that The Promised Neverland is 12 volumes, Kaguya-sama 13 volumes and Go-Tobun no Hanayome 7 volumes. The ratio of these global sales reduced by volume gives:
- The Promised Neverland: 17,800
- Kaguya-sama: Love is War: 10,112
- Go-Tobun no Hanayome: 15,700

Last week a volume of Go-Tobun no Hanayome sold almost as much as a volume of The Promised Neverland.

Yes big Success.

And with these sales, Go-Tobun no Hanayome is currently the second serie of the Magazine, behind The Seven Deadly Sins.

Holy shit that's a huge increase. I'd be surprised if this doesn't get another season but with better quality now.

And compared to Domestic na Kanojo not getting any of the same treatment makes me wonder if that series is even as popular as this one. Given how the manga for that series went downhill a bit in quality, I don't expect many to start picking up the series. And if the company doesn't see an increase in sales while the anime is running, Domestic probably won't get a second season

Awesome episode!

Miku changing hair style let her really cute, her expression after Fuutarou told they all have a partner relationship was adorable!

Their fireworks at part touched me a lot, i am glad they managed to have fireworks together! Their mother ideology was fantastic, taht they tegether are 5/5!

Itsuki was almost to cry alone, i want to see more of her!

Congratz Fuutarou at the end you won Ichika as student!

Proud of Fuutarou, their reason to help them was respectful!

In October the volume of Go-Tobun no Hanayome already sold twice as much as that of Domestic na Kanojo. Now it's almost five times more. Both titles are no longer in the same sales category.
For Domestic na Kanojo the anime has probably arrived too late.

The anime of Go-Tobun no Hanayome was announced while the manga had barely reached the 60 chapters. The Magazine clearly saw a lot of potential in this title and was quick launched a anime.

Last time I checked the sale numbers for Domestic na Kanojo, they were above 3 mil in July and October of last year after 4 years of publishing. I'm curious where you found that, because I've seen reports of it being over 3 million but it hasn't increased much in the slightest after the anime released.

But this one is about to hit 3 million not even two years after it first released and it's only got 72 chapters and even before Vol 8 is released (confirmed by the author on his twitter page). What's also hilarious is the fact that Domestic has nearly over 220 chapters but Quintuplets only has a third of that and is still able to make nearly the same amount of copies sold.

So yeah, more than likely Gotoubun might get another season but with a bigger budget after realizing how much it can make due to these sales. Domestic I could care less about, since the manga has gotten very repetitive and just full of no stop drama. I'm only reading it to give a fair review on it later, and boy do I want to quit.

I was talking about sales by volume, not global sales ^ _ ^

If there is a season 2, I doubt they will put more money. Was there more money for season two of The Seven Deadly Sins? No. The Magazine isn't the Jump, if it works with an average budget, then they will do the same thing the next time.

For Domestic, in my opinion the story has pulled too much in length.

So what do you mean by volume? Are you referring to how it sold x5 the amount Domestic does already per volume? Because I can see what you're referring to, given how Domestic usually sells only 25-30k for a new volumes first week and Gotoubun gets in the 80k-90k and is now selling more than 230k copies in total and increasing. Like I kinda need a bit of explaining here, since it's hard to interpret what you mean on the internet.

And yeah, Domestic's sales aren't even increasing so I feel this adaptation isn't doing much to get people to read the manga. I don't think we'll get a second season, cuz like you mentioned too much stuff to adapt and it'll probably keep getting worse

If gotoubun does get a second season, instead of putting more money in I feel they'll try and manage their time more and not rush the production. But one could hope they do increase the budget as well so it gets better too.

Yes, I'm talking about sales by volume, that we have by Top 50 weekly oricon.

Release October:
5-toubun no Hanayome T6: 82,379
Domestic na Kanojo T20: 41,618

Release December:
5-toubun no Hanayome T7: 203,461
Domestic na Kanojo T21: 23,445 (disappeared very quickly from the top 50)

The current difference between the two series has widened considerably.

Yeah I figured you were referring to that. And it's quite hilariously shocking how much of a gap there is now between the two series, and I never thought Gotoubun would be able to get this popular so quickly.

I remember seeing those numbers when talking about it with others from the Gotoubun subreddit. Domestic just isn't selling well compared to Gotoubun now and the last time it did appear on the charts was on Dec 17-23 for 1 week and was then gone like you mentioned. Gotoubun vol 7 I believe is still on after 7 weeks and all 7 volumes for the manga were on there as well as Promised Neverland.

Although Vol7 opened up to 95k on its first week, it definitely had more legs than Domestic despite both getting an anime release. And even after the first week of Jan we started seeing the past volumes of Gotoubun making the charts as well and none for DnK.

I don't even know how much DnK vol 21 sold now, since it's literally gone from the rankings. It's quite hilarious, given how some people are liking the anime adaptation but actual manga readers know how much of a shit storm it is now.

Let's just hope Gotoubun is the one to get a second season (but with more time to make it and hopefully more production budget as well) and not Garbage na Kanojo.

The childhood's end is nearing the quints.

Also, the studio have already spent all of the meager budget they had been allocated for this adaptation it seems. The only thing that looked good in this episode was that black sedan. Such a wasted potential.

I can already predict the BD/DVD sales. It won't reach 2K/volume.

I noticed a few animation errors: Miku's bandage is gone and hair back to normal when they reach the park, and near 20:48 where Yotsuba's hand disappears for a frame or two before she puts her hand behind her head. While the hair could have been undone, the missing bandage on her foot and Yotsuba's missing hand doesn't look good. I hope they fix these little things before I buy the BD/DVDs.

Hanazawa Kana is truly a treasure. She can pull off a nice range from the cute innocent type that makes you want to protect, to the sexy and alluring cool beauty.

Now I understand why they chose HanaKana to play Ichika, very few seiyuu would be able tu pull that acting scene with such emotion.
She basically repeated this in a sense:

(though nothing can even beat that scene of course)

Yeah... the running gag of them looking alike is starting to be ridiculous since the studio decided to change their hair color so that the viewers could easily distinguish them.

So Ichika wants to be an actress and it also seems she's quite skillful at it although I don't know how a few lines can convince a group of judges that easily but well.
That aside, my guess from last episode was correct, she didn't tell her sisters because she wanted to be sure about her being successful in the career she chose to follow. Something perfectly understandable but I still don't get why they decided to make things look like if she was having "another kind" of job...

Regarding Fuutarou, he might not be the typical "embarrassing" type of Harem MC but man, he can be so bland and boring during most of the times. I really liked his speech about properly earning the money he received for tutoring them tho.

As a whole, the episode was just ok. The first half was really tedious to watch but the second one managed to make the ep. a bit more bearable. Ichika received a good amount of character development, which was also nice. Regarding personality, she's the girl I like the most so far.

P.S. 1: For an Harem anime, I'm quite surprised about how tame the fanservice has been during these 5 episodes. I'm not sure whether that is a good point or not tho.

P.S. 2: So I guess it's safe to say that Miku is the first one of the sisters in developing true feelings for MC. At least, it really looked like that for me...

P.S. 3: Will there be a time when Miku takes off her headphones? I wonder if she sleeps or showers wearing them too...
