I couldn’t really untestand how Legom could grow eggs from nothing. Also aren’t they her children, wouldn’t she be sad seeing legosi eating them?

What?! it is basic biology. hens unfertilized eggs (so the ones we eat) are just equivalent of human menstruation.

The animation of Haru stumbling through the woods made up of Louis' antlers is freaking gorgeous! i can't praise studio orange enough!!

Legom is pretty much Paru (the author) herself lol:

When Louis was about to kiss Haru and he stopped and he explained why:

I couldn't find the raws to chapter 27, but in the English scans, when Legosi was sniffing Louis, his thoughts said "I couldn't figure out what that smell is" (which wasn't included in the anime), but in the Chinese scans, his thoughts said "my nose is stuffed so I couldn't figure out the smell." which would fix this 'plot hole' since canines' noses are sharp and he should be able to figure out what that smell was immediately

Maybe it's just me but I felt like Legosi's dance pose is cooler in the manga, cause we see his whole torso, while in this episode the camera followed his arm movements closely and we didn't see the whole picture

wish they kept Legosi's eyes the way they were when he ruined Juno's daydream. it made him look more dopey XD

REAAAAALLY wish they kept the dialogues in Jack's flashback of Legosi as a kid. Maybe they couldn't find a kid voice for him? im really curious how he sound as a kid.

also the anime didn't reveal this but Legosi loves bugs (still does) which is why he has a pet bug and in the flashback he was holding up bugs

I like this part of the anime. In the manga, when Legosi gave up Haru, his smile was forced. But in anime, it was a pained smile.

And lastly, the last scene would look sooo much better if the paint is red, which was how I envisioned it'd be when I saw this page

I do like how his eyes are red-rimmed though.

Super excited for next episode! We are finally gonna see what Louis is hiding under his sleeves! (Literally and figuratively)

Can I just say, I appreciate your recap of the differences between the show and the manga.

The scene where Legosi was jealous was played like a killer finally snapping, heading into a dangerous direction. I'm interested in this direction though and hope he doesn't become a psycho.

Who didn't go a little crazy with their first crush when you realized they were getting porked by someone else.

Overall, still can't discern if Haru be a hoe. All indications seem to point to yes.

Also, Haru x Louis = jackalope... might be disappointed if this doesn't happen.

Here we go with another amazing episode, I loved that Legosi eventually cleared up his feelings toward Haru ! But I feel a bit sad for Juno, she looked cute in the dancing scene.

Also the very beginning with the chicken was a bit out of subject but really made me smile

While it may seem out of place in the current storyline, this story of him and the chicken and the stories he has with other animals will be vital in the long run later on (at least I think so IMO) These little stories also help develop and deepen the setting in this animal world, which I appreciate so much!

That dream sequence though ... Really, who would've thought Orange could go above and beyond our expectations for this adaption ? Another well paced and crafted episode brimming with love, comedy, drama and most importantly eggs !

Legom gonna be the actual Beastars lol

Btw people, don't take Juno at face value plz, Paru doesn't like to write typical characters which means that Juno's far from having played her cards yet ;)

Can't wait for next week once again !

also no matter if it's out of place or not, Legom has to appear in anime considering she is the author herself lmao, the production team would be pissing her off by not adding her character in XD

Legosi's face when he attacked Jack had me crying! So funny.

Damn and then Legosi's face at the end was pretty serious. I like how it was serious but still somewhat gentle at the same time.

The chicken stuff before the OP was completely pointless, but that aside this was an excellent episode once again, with Legosi finally getting a grasp of how he actually feels after seeing Louis and Haru together and piecing together their relationship.

Also, the animation and art style for that "dream sequence" of Haru's was absolutely astonishing and outstanding.

Very good episode! I was actually surprised that the chicken chapter was even adapted into the show! I was afraid Studio Orange would've saw it as filler, but good thing it was included. It provides good world building and shows us how the world of Beastars work. Haru's dream sequence was so beautiful to watch. Juno's affection towards Legosi is so cute! I even liked how comedy was sprinkled in this episode. Can't wait for the next episode!

Wow, while this episode seemed to be pretty upbeat during the first half, things kind of escalated toward the end. Looks like the relationships will only grow more complicated from here on.

Well, the bambi and a young Haru got to "know" each other real quick given the circumstances. And Juno seems to have a strong "notice me senpai" attitude xD

I really love Jack's reaction when he finds a certain something that Doctor Panda has given to Legosi to test himself.

Overall a great episode in terms of art (especially when Haru had her little journey) and music. So many unexpected twists and turns lol

Concepts of this anime are really on point. Legosi's struggle is well put throughout. I'm so glad he finally realized that he actually loves Haru though

Ngl, seeing that Legom scene with the egg sandwich made me want to eat an egg sandwich but I didn't because I don't have any bread.

Everything in this episode was great from the Legom scene, to Haru and Louis' sex scene to Jack discovering Legoshi's naughty mag and that end scene with Legoshi pushing the side of his mouth with the paint but I think it looked better in the manga and it would've been better if the paint was only red.

Also, Haru has no nips.

Man fuck off to all the people giving this ep a 1 or a 2, this shit was fantastic. The pacing was lovely, the animation during Haru's dream sequence was so fucking beautiful I had to replay that shit like 3 times. And my god, the way the tension ramped up so much during the ending and the way it segued into that brilliantly catchy ED theme. Fuck man I love this series!

Like holy shit, this series makes almost every show this season (aside from maybe Vinland Saga) look like complete schlock. Not only is it unique, but it's just so fucking clearly brimming with love and passion put into it and the source material seems like it's excellently building up. Shit like this is why I watch anime to begin with, god bless you Studio Orange, as long as the entire adaptation's like this consider me a lifetime fan of the studio from now on.

The power of the egg is truly something we all underestimate.
Savoury, sweet, main, side... eggs are truly one of the best foods we ignore... and now I want some.
Yet, not one person made the "What came first: The chicken or the egg" joke.

Man, Legosi, upfront with Louis. I don't know what's with it, but I actually, really like their relationship. It's like they're secretly competing with each other. In relation, boy, I got a feeling Juno is going to get the short end of the stick, and I'm gonna feel REAL bad for her.

At least, no matter what, Jack is a bro.

EDIT: Damn, that ending face of Legosi.

Just to list a couple of biases.
Likes: A good story, characters, writing, romance, a good plot twist or something that breaks expectations (In a good way), 'backstory' and justice.
Dislikes: Bad romance, too much fanservice, the harem genre, yuri, yaoi, and bad writing.

With the story, I will probably constantly feel it can go multiple ways but in very drastically opposite directions. From someone's death to a happily ever after.

Man, it's amazing how Studio Orange is taking on this project! I don't know, I just feel like it gives this series a different air and I'm loving it!

Last two episodes have dug deeper into the sexual affairs and psychologies surrounding that, and finally seeing Legosi snap as a result of his fear being confirmed .. it's an amazing buildup, to say the least. Pretty sure he'll snap back to reality in time though but those red-rimmed eyes and that final shot is just gold, awesome stuff!

Lol @ that discovery from his childhood friend though, that was some good laughter phew. Interesting start to the episode as well, a nice and touching little story from the proud hen there xD.

I'm looking forward to where this is going! Hopefully, this is due for more than just a cour too.

Side character Legom the hen makes her short debut with Chapter 20 for the first 5 mins! Sure is nice to get this short out of the way.

No matter how strong and perfect Mister Bambi "Louis" was on the outside, he has been always a wreck on the inside, so much so that his "sexual experience" with Haru was solidified even before Legosi could emit the same feelings.

And...Legosi unknowingly bringing the fight ever closer between him and Louis over Haru. It's subtle, but after the drought that is the Black Market, Legosi has blurred the line between human and beast a tad bit.

Oh ho, with Juno, she thinks that with much interaction she can entice Legosi, but his logic triumphs intuition to shoot her feelings down.

And then, Jack the Labrador Retriever, Legosi's BFF, has to confront him about his conflicting feelings. But the "popular" girl just has to go around and make jokes out of him. The worse part, watching the physical oneness of Louis and Haru.

War of love declared! After much debate of heartful words of feelings and emotions, Legosi can't help but to fight for his right to love Haru.

What an intense episode. And this is only getting started!

This might be a weird thing to say, but I guess that I would also take pride in laying tasty eggs if I were a chicken. xD It was a funny, and cool segment. That opening sequence inside of Haru's head after the OP though, that was gorgeous, if sad. And I liked to get to know how she met Louis-senpai, but it was also sad. When they first met he wasn't the super popular "red deer" to her, she didn't even know him, he was just someone who needed a hand. Then they ended up getting too close, but he already has a fiancée, and though it seems that he cares somehow, it's still like Haru is just a convenient "acquaintance" he has. And she even agreed to this so she can't really "complain" or something.

It seems Louis-senpai was the only one there for her before she met Legoshi. The fact is that she is lonely and alone on that campus despite acting cheerful. Well, things are getting complicated. Louis-senpai pushed Legoshi to Juno, possibly because he was jealous or something akin to it, Juno fell for Legoshi, who is really dense, and Legoshi tried to push Haru away but seeing her smiling to Louis-senpai was enough to make him realize that he "loves" her. Things are bound to get messy one way or another. Oh, I also liked to know that Legoshi has a childhood friend. I wonder if he knows why Legoshi is always trying to restrain himself.

Fair enough if it adds to the world-building, but in this instance it felt pointless because it was so out-of-place with the rest of the episode and completely disrupted the momentum built up by last week's episode, whereas the other world-building the show has done so far has blended in much more seamlessly while also not disrupting the overall flow of the show.

One of the best episodes so far. Even when I'm up with the manga, I couldn't help myself but to innerly scream to the screen, trying to alert Legoshi about the dangers he is about to encounter.

I never felt so uneasy yet so estimulated with an anime episode like this. I'm not a drama person, yet I loved every second of the (approx.) 1'400 it ran.

On some side notes: I) It seems each episode is compressing 4 chapters of the manga. We're currently on the 7th episode, so that would be chapter 28. If this series is really going to have 24 episodes, we could expect this first season to end around chapter 96, in the end of the "Investigation Arc".

II) I was also delighted to see they adapted Legom's story. Everyone was just waiting for that and they did it flawlessly.

III) It also seems we aren't getting any new endings anymore, as they are arranged according to the episode's theme. In this case, as the theme grew with a lot of tension, Sleeping Instinct was played, as it's the darkest of the 3.

IV) Poor Juno. She eventually became my favorite female character later on, leaving apart the fact that Paru herself said she was kind of a Mary Sue. Even with that in mind, she doesn't seem to be such a flawless character, as we are shown that she doesn't blend so easily with her new surroundings and she is constantly bullied in the school (until a certain point in the story). Also,

I just think her charisma, ambition and wits do the trick for me.

just see it as those extra content anime always put after the ED. except they put it before the OP. i think it's a great way to start an episode. like instead of desert after the main meal you eat a few free breadsticks given at the restaurant while waiting for the main meal. i like it.
