| Sweet lord that ending hit me like a sledgehammer. I was lulled into a calm happy state by the festivities, feel good meals and ladies swarming onto Tanikaze ( now I know why a a guy I follow on twitter calls it Harem of Sidonia LOL) and then suddenly BANG! Injury, death and world turned upside down. I don't rule out some sort of sabotage by Kunato (or at least interference). And while I normally don't appreciate characters coming back from the dead, I'm hoping that Hoshijiro is more a case of MIA, still alive somewhere, than actually dead. If she is then...dammmn. |

| Wait, what? I felt a death flag, but I took it lightly. This death doesn't really make sense to me, but probably the next episode will make it relevant. My guess is that Tanikaza may have gone out of his mind when Hoshijiro died and did not finish off the Gauna in time. |

| I doubt that she really died, she is the main heroine and should have plot armor, probably got captured and tentacleraped by the last escaped gauna. I more suprised that they killed 28 gaunas, when 1t was a big deal with just one, and now even noob Kunato killed 4, or they were weaker type?; |

That's my own opinion, whether it's slow paced or not is not what I found lacking (otherwise I would've dropped Monster 20 or so episodes in), but that's a discussion for another time. I realize saying it's shit was really pushing it, but I was half asleep and I didn't care how I word things. Now why did I say that here? Simple, people were discussing a totally unrelated anime here, so I was poking fun at this fact by talking about something totally unrelated. |

Then, there's the fact that Tanikaze got beat up badly despite being utterly op? Its not Gundam. Being OP =/= being infallible. Tanikaze IS quite skilled at it and he does have far more capabilities of not fucking up as shown before, but he IS just a single human, still. If he can kill a gauna, so can others given they do not fuck up. If others can fuck up, so can he. Him being better at it does not mean he is the ONLY one who can. |

| Haha, he suddenly gained a harem. But it seems like he's only interested in Hoshijiro, who has now died...? I dislike the timeskip. Hopefully next episode will bring the battle to light, I really wanted to see it. :( Mr. Butthurt is way too suspicious. |

| WTF??? As soon as someone starts to get into a romantic relationship either both of them, or one of them dies. So I guess I shouldn't start to grow fond of any of the characters, because they'll be probably dead by the next ep. |

| It was a weird decision to jump over the fight scene and put it in the next episode, but it makes sense as there wasn't enough time to fit it in this episode. |

| Finally watched it. Really nice episode. I can never get enough of the OP. I don't really like the love triangle/harem but it's not too forced or annoying to ruin the enjoyment so I guess meh for the moment. It was obvious she was going to die soon after episode 5. But damn :| And it seems like Nagate screwed up, I wonder how he'll deal with this now, would be interesting to see. I'm guessing next episode they will show how the battle went? Overall 5/5 |

I am pretty sure that was not because of lack of screentime, but because they intentionally wanted to cliffhanger an otherwise VERY calm and normal episode, as well as to make death more unexpected. |

Nagate grew up underground and his understanding of human relationships is defined as a two-gender species. Now he's up above and "Hi, I'm Shinatose. I'm not a guy or a girl." so he's going to be confused how to address her--er him, whatever. I actually didn't mind the Hishijiro/Tanikaze/Shinatose love triangle, but I didn't want a harem like the show started to do here (just wanted Midorikawa to go away, she's annoying). |

| While it's understandable that Mr. Butthurt is butt hurt, what did he do that qualifies him as both pilot (not trainee) and commander of the mission? Without Nagate, the previous mission would have been a fail, too. It's no wonder missions always end like this if they simply promote everyone who makes it back. Though given their training, it actually may be a rare achievement, so they deserve the promotion? |
| Since I have been spoiled indirectly 3 times, the ending wasn't really a shock to me but rather something I was so engaging to see. MAL has done something really bad but unintentionally. I think it should be obvious to put Shizuka Hoshijiro as one of the main cast but it doesn't. Let's say, if someone were to check Sidonia no Kishi on MAL for some information and then they happened to see Izana Shinatose as the only main girl in the show then what do you think they would have expected from the show. But those were not what they would be seeing in the first half of the show or maybe in the second half of the show too(since I don't know). The show was focusing on Shizuka Hoshijiro from the beginning until now and yet she is not the main cast... do they think you need to be genius to guess what is going to happen to her? |

Yeah the main character thing usually works, pretty much idk, maybe around 99% time? But there are always a few shows where it could potentially spoil something, in Sidonia no Kishi's case, it's kind of a bad one. I was reminded of seeing Tina Sprout as part of the main characters in Black Bullet, but she wasn't even introduced until mid season. Not a bad spoil like Sidonia no Kishi, but yeah, still a spoil I guess? There's also another character in Sidonia no Kishi that I think should be listed as a main character, but she hasn't had much screen time and probably still won't until later. Sometimes distinguishing main characters from supporting is bit tricky... |

| Good job Nagate, you're a hero now, not abandoning your comrade in arms Hoshijiro and slaying that Gauna brought you this title! Funny how fast people are to change their ways of treating you after you do something worth mentioning... It seems that I'm the only one who still find that cafeteria bear lady weird... So the four of got promoted to full Gardes pilots, nice job guys. Ah c'mon! Tanikaze Y U NO LIKE Izana? Um yeah... I think I knew an episode or two back that something would to Hoshijiro... The only thing I can think off is that either something went terribly wrong or that the bastard Kunato did something. |

| i think this show is great, but i have a feeling that the MC is going to change a lot in the next few episodes, i think he will become a pure Gauna killing machine :O |

| Daaaaaaaamn. The whole episode was great (for Nagate and Shizuka) until the last 4 minutes, but lmao, the last scene was long (Nagate spaced out with OoO). But meh, I still don't like Kunato. The next episode will tell what truly happened. |
