Amuro totally proved that he is mature. He run away crying, stole Gundam and left the base~ I think he didn't like Mirai's "nice body"~ What a spoiled brat!

Space women don't have nipples....

Also. Zeon should totally install some Bras on their mobile suits. Would make them have powers over Amuro.

You guys dont understand...Its the bra that sent him into a shock and made him lose control of his wits. I thought it was obvious...
"...our faces marked by toil, by deceptions, by success, by love; our weary eyes looking still, looking always, looking anxiously for something out of life, that while it is expected is already gone – has passed unseen, in a sigh, in a flash – together with the youth, with the strength, with the romance of illusions.” - Joseph Conrad ('Youth')

Well, Bright really needs to work on his people skills. He always seems to choose the most jerk-ish words when talking to someone. That said, Amuro stealing the Gundam is pretty much inexcusable.
"Yes, I have been deprived of emotion. But not completely. Whoever did it, botched the job."

Yeah... I mean does he not realise that he's screwed over the White Base crew doing that? Taking their best asset.

Oh my, Bright is pretty dickish and Amuro is immature. I thought he was going to desert by taking that jetpack and flying away but noooo he stole Gundam. Is he trying to prove them that he is better pilot by flying randomly and trying to find enemy to fight? Or is he just going to hide Gundam and live in the desert?

Amuro deserts... yes, he is damn immature of course, but we have to admit that Bright is also at fault for that jackass comment he made in Amuro's face.

And my guess is that by taking the Gundam with him, Amuro can't be deserting the White Base for real. He is sending Bright a message, "Nobody will take my Gundam!!!!! ToT"

Another ace episode :D

I think Bright was a little harsh on this one, but yeah Amuro has been acting immature all throughout. Ignoring orders, trying out new things without permission, but it's understandable since he's young and is still learning the ropes.

I'm actually surprise the team has improve a lot since their first battle from space.

Also 1980s has no nipples? X___x

Damn that soldier over killed Cozun!

And did Bright made a move on Mirai!?! :P

Oh well Amuro will learn eventually, he just need some time off.

Lol the ED lyrics fit the episode so perfectly!!

Can't wait for the next episode!!!

Now well all know Shniji was based on Amuro. Lol

Amuro's stealing the Gundam was stupid , but I'm on his side . He's pretty much serious about his job. He's making a strategy and working hard. And yet Bright can't even see that child is a progidy. Bright was fucking rude here but I'm not saying Amuro didn't make a mistake.

I think I like Ramba Ral as much as Char, he's a great villain in that in most series he'd be a hero. He cares about his men, loves his woman and always fights to the best of his abilities. He's honorable, he just happens to be (from the show's point of view) on the wrong side.

It happens in all colors, that episode! The narrative, comes out a figure of more multifaceted Amuro and his character gains in charisma, but the merits of the story do not stop this, wow!
You know best Ramba Ral and one senses that his figure of evil, goes well beyond the classic enemy, is so much more. Even Bright, buy points as a character, engaging armed confrontation between the white base and its enemies.

Did anyone else notice how hilarious it is that Gundam's fly stance is correspondent to Amuro's depressed state? No flashy motion, just the mobile suit being dragged across the background indifferently. LOL

Sayla continues to be the worst character and let the prisoner get away and rely on the bomb disabling guy to catch the prisoner, even though that's her shot at redemption to the crew and the audience... Felt bad for Amuro, but I agree with Bright. He's not mature enough to be in full control of the Gundam, this is even shown when he leaves with the Gundam. I'm sad Amuro turned into an angsty teen.

this show has the worst protagonist I've ever suffered through. everyone whining about Bright ignore all the issues he has dealt with Amuro already. the kid is obviously not mature enough to deal with the combat situations he is put in. did you all really ignore how he almost gets his own people killed acting like an insubordinate jackass? you're more worried that Bright is a meanie.

Facts. I'm on Amuro's side. He's basically a one man army protecting all of them and what thanks does he get? Getting tossed aside like garbage without any hint of appreciation smh. We all saw how well the last person did trying to pilot the Gundam on simulation practice alone LOL. Bright isn't very bright.

There was a strong sense of continuity in this episode. Continuing with the hostage only for Sayla, still in her cell, to end up calling for help.

As for Amuro, this episode drew on his tensions with Mirai and Bright. I think it is no surprise it depicted Amuro and Mirai close with an intimate bathroom scene, and Bright harsh and perhaps overly cold, even in his response to the hostage death. The mother-father dynamic with them feels as strong as ever and created a push and pull of accepting Amuro or punishing him.

Episode 13 dealt with Amuro losing his sense of being a civilian and being pushed away by his mother, and this episode dealt with an overeager Amuro, a sign of feeling a sense of belonging perhaps, being pushed away from his life as a soldier. I had no issue with even his tears, but seeing him pack his bags and impulsively steal the Gundam the next day had me burst out into laughter. It is so childish! But I suppose that is the point, he is a child, and he's felt rejected.

I find myself thinking this anime is beautiful often. The two standout moments this time were the chilling shot of Sayla and her ally as they realized they killed the hostage, hair blowing in the wind, and especially when Amuro fell asleep with the Gundam behind him before Bright and Mirai started to discuss.

At least Cozun was killed, they honestly forgot to put guards to prevent him from escaping.

Honestly, I don't blame Amuro for leaving White Base, he was really insulted and curiously Bright didn't realize that he was there all the time lol. Now im starting to believe that Amuro set the stage for Shinji years later. Talking about Bright, is he in love with Mirai? because it seems that the series makes me believe that.

Ramba Ral is a good recurring antagonist, he is not Char but he has charisma and good personality to making him unique. Too bad he couldn't save Cozun but honestly he asked for it by not obeying Ramba's orders in time, that's why he was captured in the first place.

Amuro messed up, but so did Bright. The war is basically taking a huge toll on everyone, especially as they aren't soldiers. Amuro has good ideas, but he won't listen. There's sort of a juxtaposition here between Ramba Ral's loyalty to his troops vs Bright's bullheaded order.
