As shown in that particular scene, it revealed that their AI is not built in their unit. They were surprised to see that their brains were "empty", so to speak. As stated by their creator he had the Tachikomas' AI built into the joint Japanese and AE satellite as per the request of the Major. Another thing, the scene where the fugitive scientist and the Tachikoma talking was very poignant. you could see in them a father caressing his child and a child relishing the affection given by a father. It was touching and I was a bit pissed off by the Major's insensitivity. Batou was much more considerate saying "maybe we should bring them along to visit him from time to time". Hope this helps. |

| 12/10 My favourite part of the GITS tale so far, without doubt. While the Tachikoma aren't exactly brilliant philosophers/sociologists, their zest for it, and for that matter everything, is wonderful. |

The scene with the Tachikoma and "father" was very touching. Batou is HOT!! The Major can be a bit cold-hearted sometimes. |

| The Tachikomas conversations definitely gave me a better insight on everything that has been going on with the Individual Eleven, especially taking into account their pertinent questions and observations. I must admit though that this episode was extremely hard to follow, so much consecutive dialogue, I kept missing the subs and found myself going back a few seconds several times. |

| interesting episodes. i wonder if they will still have a memory of the creator somewhere on the net as he suggested. why you mean Major :( glad batou might bring a tachikoma to Asuda from time to time. kinda sucks he'll be getting some jail time or will work at their center forever. still it's the same as Section 9. they're probably stuck their for good. well except for Togusa(maybe) such a touching story, the music is sooo sad too :( |

| I was totally stunned by this episode! I thought it was so sad for the creator of the Tachikomas not to be able to choose his own way of living. Instead being stuck forever to work for section 9? all his life. And as said. The ending was very touching. Sad and beautiful! I can only imagine his sorrow. It's not like he did anything bad.. besides blowing up parts of a building.. He just wanted freedom where he could work with what he wanted for a living with people actually praising him for what he does! ( Was it just me or was this episodes' quality much better then the previous ones?)  |

| I feel so bad for the scientist T_T. He is so brilliant yet he gets no say in his projects. I know that this is the price you pay for having the government fund your research but still. I feels like the government is stealing from him. Not even letting him put some memory into the Tochikoma AI D=. |

| Finally a Tachikoma episode. I'm a big fan of Tachikoma's and so this episode made my day. That conversation between Tachikoma and the father was very touching. It's good to know that their AI is stored elsewhere. Now even if they are completely destroyed in combat they won't die. Amazing Tachikoma episode 5/5. |

| Another great episode! The Tachikomas are definitely the highlight of the show for me. They are a brilliant mix of individuality. The encounter with the "father" was particularly touching and heart-breaking. Funny to find that these lil' fellows are more human than the Major. They are soo cute XD |

| Very sad towards the end. What people fear most is leaving this world without making a name for themselves. Felt slightly bad for the scientist in this respect. Someone so passionate about their work, AIs especially, probably would view the Tachikomas as his children. The Tachikomas philosophizing is fascinating to watch and really serves to bring their humanity out, despite how technical they are about it. Love this series for that. |

| The whole "our IA is somewhere" remember me a dream that Carl Jung had, the one that, when he was sick, sees himself as a man who meditates in the sky, a body that transcends time and serves as a source to the many lives he had on earth. I am sure that I will look for philosophers cited in this episode. And of course, the final scene was extremely touching, idk just brings me various feelings haha... |

| I'm becoming less annoyed with the Tachikomas, and genuinely enjoyed their spotlight for this episode. What I found great was that the Tachikomas intertwined the cases of the Laughing Man and Individual Eleven with their come to understanding of how spirit/ghost is separate or inseparable in relation to themselves. The whole dialogue that unfolded was quite compelling. Feel bad for the Scientist... I actually think he should had succeeded in leaving the country. |

| 5/5 Tachikoma's are great. to be perfectly honest i really dislike the insensitive side of motoko, makes me wish that the scientist succeed in leaving the country. i feel like the scientist is a slave to the government just because they funded his research. i know it's part of their deal but i feel like it's so unfair for the scientist, not only that he gets no recognition for his work but to add insult to injury, he also isn't allowed to put a memory of him to the tachikoma's, which is practically his child and the fruit of his passion for his work. well the major isn't really at fault either since she can't do much about the situation, but when she insist to remove the scientist memories from the tachikoma's that's where she fail. |

His work belongs to government, and his advancements in science should be dedicated to improving his Nation and people. It doesn't matter if you are "recognized" by mass media etc as much as you do what you can for your own volk. The scientist was wrong. Major nailed it, as hard to grasp as it is. The scientists, Motoko, Aramaki, ... all belong to government. If for any reason government decides to remove them, they will get killed immediately as how it happened in the previous season. They are government tools. Motoko's case is even more severe, that's why she seems cynical here. If government were ever to dissolve S9, Togusa and co would simply return to their previous lives, but because Motoko's body belongs to government, she should renounce to her body and go back to being a regular android, which probably is a lot less comfortable and will make not attach her mind with her body, at least as well as it is with her regular S9 body. It is in a way sad, but understandable. nice ep btw |

| This made me dislike the Major a bit. She acted very cold-hearted without any empathy for the father. She takes away someone's sentimental feelings towards his "projects". The Major handles without any emotions, only rationality (that is one of her flaws but also a strong point at the same time). |
