| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Oo, I kinda like the shift in the more urban environment this episode. Alice is such a fun character to watch lol. I really enjoy seeing him go around town with Chise to do some exploring. It's also interesting to know a bit more about Alice too. The scene with the monster attack was thrilling, goes to show how dangerous otherworldly creatures in this series. Thought they adapted Mikhail's character pretty well for this episode. |

| This was a very nice, laid back Christmas episode. We've got Chise who went out in the city to buy Elias a present and meets up with Alice along the way as she plans to do the same for Renfred. The small bit of backstory we get about Alice was nice imo. Also was very cute when Elias brings up the mistletoe and has to crouch so Chise can give him a kiss while he can only nuzzle back. I loved it. Seems like the Ashen Eye is up to some of his tricks again. Very much looking forward to the next episode. |

| This was a really good episode. It was nice to see Chise and Alice hang out with each other, trying to buy a Christmas present. Got to know her backstory. It's quite sad. Her parents were terrible. So that's how Mikhail got that scar on his face. He protected her. Awesome guy. The kiss under the mistletoe was lovely. That cliffhanger though. Ashen Eye is up to no good again. |

| This was one of my favorite chapters in the manga and I'm so glad it to see it animated. Great episode overall. I loved the part where Ruth is musing he can't help Chise and instantly tattles on her feeling cold to Elias after the latter advises him. XD Nice to see the backstory between Alice and Renfred. The ending was really sweet. :) |

| Slow but good and heartwarming Christmas episode. Remember reading the chapters and what i really wanted that Chise gave a present for Silky, but forgot in one of the extra chapters Silky said herself that she never accepts presents, just some random unnecessary information =/ I think they skipped a bit in the scene with Renfred and Alice, the story about Stella next time. Really like how the comedy is shown in those mini-skits. |

| I was laughing my butt off at Chise's little grin when she popped Ruth out to handle those drug dealers!!! And Chise's last line was so very full of meaning about her life up until she met Elias: "I'm actually looking forward to waking up." |

Best episode of the 2nd cour so far, kinda ironic given that the previous episodes were action-packed, but poorly paced. It just goes to show how the interesting cast of characters (and not the visuals) is Mahoutsukai's strongest point. I liked Alice's backstory, but my personal highlight was Chise struggling to realize that this is how a normal life is supposed to be. I mean, let's not forget, Chise at the start of the series was like this: She has come a long way since then. It's amazing how her becoming "human" feels so natural. Btw, what's with that restaurant scene? Is seeing 2 girls eating supposed to be funny? |

| It's never too late (or early depending on how you look at it) to get in the Christmas spirit. This episode was heartwarming as we saw Chise and Alice become closer to each other, and there were some cute moments like when Chise and Elias shared a kiss under the mistletoe. I also liked seeing Alice's backstory with how she became acquainted with Renfred. Ashen Eye looks like he's up to no good again in that cliffhanger. |

| I liked the episode, but I felt like the part at the beginning with the old ancient gods (the centaur and pregnant lady) was reduced to less than a minute for no reason, as the scene in the manga was VERY memorable and ominous. I remember how Elias made Chise hide and not make any noise, going as far as to tell her to close her eyes, warning her that the old gods are very fearsome. The scene didn't have as much impact in the anime. |
| I was disappointed that they got Elias's new bolo necktie's color wrong because the new one's rope should be orange. I was also disappointed that they cut the small flavor text in the montage part. I thought it was great in the manga getting told what was going on with yule. Overall a good episode but I am sad with what is being cut over again. |
| Alice and Chise bond session was good, but I was surprised by Elias being able to sew a teddy bear( that was unexpected). We also got a background story of Alice and I must say it was a bit sad though. It also seems like the next episode will be interesting judging by that ending and the preview. |

| A nice enough episode, got to see why that guys face is like that. I will say, the train station Chise leaves from is called Paddington and I've been there enough to be impressed with the level of detail that went into the background. |

| As someone who hasn't read the source material this show is amazing, I found this episode extremely cute and like a majority of the episodes it always makes me feel some sort of emotion. (which is rare for me) When they showed Alice's back story it made me happy but also sad for her and I'm glad in the end things worked out for her. The kissing scene was adorable and hilarious when she wasn't sure how to go about kissing him and decided to kiss his head. However I noticed that the way he kissed her back.. I think he's done that a few times in previous episodes so does that mean he was basically kissing her? that's adorable! '3' Also I can't wait until next week I'm loving every episode of this show. |

| This episode in a nutshell. To see Chise and Alice growing closer and her talking about her past was nice. In the end both found a present. And of all things, I didn't expect Elias to give Chise a teddy bear. He got mad at her without realizing. |

| That was a very sweet episode, tbh. With Alice telling about how Renfred-san found him. Goddamnit. Now, I'm shipping them more. ;-; Nice knowing more about Alice. Thanks to her parents, though, because without them being such shitty and drug addict parents, she'll never end up with Renfred-san. :3 And so that's how Renfred-san got his scar on his face. My feels. Chise and her are so cute looking for Christmas gift for their boyfies. Hihihi. My heart. Chise bought Elias a necklace which is like the necklace he's been wearing. And what about Alice ???????? Elias gave Chise a kuma stuffed animal which he made himself akfjbaofna;sfvdf. It was never too late for a Christmas episode. Hehe. I fangirled when I saw a centaur. Haha. Idk if they're called centaur in this anime, though. Pffft. Now, who's that kid in the next episode who will be harmed by that same creature who transformed Chise into a fox? Great episode. | Alice was already becoming a pretty likeable character, until after this episode, I really like her more and respect her for getting along with Chise and generally having a good time shopping with her before Christmas. Her past was pretty powerful, seeing her being taken into care by Rendel, then saving her from the book monster's attack, where she broke down crying with regret. D= On a production note, Wit Studio did another stellar job with the scenery again. Not only was the winter views in the countryside look breath-takingly beautiful, but so was the backgrounds in London too. From Hyde park, Soho Square and Paddington Station with its ticket machines showing the First transport company's logo here in the U.K. Nicely done. =) Not to forget, the mistletoe kiss between Chise and Elias, plus his present to her, was really sweet. I just had a permanent smile on my face throughtout both scenes. =3 The cliffhanger ending is back after last week's absence, with Ashen Eye up to no good. I hope the kid will be okay though... |
| Strange to have a Christmas episode a month after the fact, but it was a decent enough episode, and much of the episode being set in London made for a nice change of pace, especially with learning about Alice's past with Renfred. Also, looks like Ashen Eye is back again, though whether this cliffhanger relating to him actually has any impact or relevance this time remains to be seen. |

| The parallels/similarities between Alice and Chise are astounding. It really gives both characters depth with the way the interact each other. Overall, this episode is a step up from the previous episode, and actually progresses the Chise and Elias' relationship. The next episode seems to be setting up for a new arc in the next episode. Looks like the siblings will play a bigger role than just a one-off appearance. |

| Well whaddya know. An episode where nothing bad happens to Chise this time. Nice to see that Alice has a bit in common with Chise. Also, I noticed that Jellyfish-looking creature stalking the pair. Did Elias ever explain what that was? I think it was how he was keeping an eye on them. |

| Nice to see the amount of folklore that ends up in this series. Yule, mistletoe, fir trees, Black Dogs, faeries, Cerunnos- the horned god of the forest, etc. Naturally there is much artistic license, but it's the thought that counts. When those thugs threatened Alice, Ruth was awesome. The one kid fainted! Ha ha ha. The Alice backstory was great. |

| The Jellyfish thing, I knew it was a foreshadow of something...Elias with his side ways glance when Chise left. Chise forgot a present for Silky...it is nice that Chise finally has a sorta close friend now. |

| Fine episode! They managed to insert an xmas theme! Chise's friendship with Alice leveled-up! We've seen a lost of the past of Alice & her master Renfred! It was very sweet that she cried because she was so worried about her master! 4/5. |
