Nice, some aerial action this episode. I was looking forward to that. Mittyyyyyyyy. Damn. I wasn't too surprised by this episode though considering the death flag was kinda high in the air in episode 6.

But seriously, oh God...poor Mitty ;___;
RIP. Never forget.

Those wooden ships, I think I saw similar scene earlier this week in Kyokujitsu no Kantai. The enemies keep wondering why the hell their bombs can't hit the target, when in reality it pierce through the wood like it's just paper without exploding.

So, Ignacio knows about Claire

The aristocrat students went on attack without waiting for command.
But likely they will came home alive, either to make audience feel it's unfair, or give them chance to change into friend.

Woah. Really liked the pink sky coloring, super pretty.

I think I understand this wrong, but are they really sending newbie teenage pilots to get involved in a war? Let's get real now...

I think we all expected Mitty to die. I didn't really feel much but I was a little sad.

As so that's why he wanted to go rescue them, Ignacio knew.

We all knew it was going to happen, but that really was a glorious death.

Great, sad episode and the battle is still underway.

Awww, dude! They should have had the two enemy planes kill Chiharu mid parachute drop. NOT because I think she deserved to die, but because that would have made up for the lack emotional impact and sense of tragedy of

I was hoping they would have the guts and the ruthlessness to do it, but they didn't. That would have been just brutal, but totally well worth it, I think.

But holy hell, the action was exciting it's looking things are about to get a whole lot worse. I wonder what the explanation for the immediate hostility between Isla and the Sky Clan is?

Ignacio is such a worthless character jesus lol
Arrogant as hell but can't even pilot. How is he even a main?

OT: That was a good way to go out for Mitty. I felt a bit sad but not much attachment to him. The action was great, and I hope it continues for the rest of the series along with the drama between Claire and Kael

1. This is why u don't read titles/watch previews before an episode starts. It spoils too much.

2. No, mitty, no. No man tears for u. The ep title was so obvious. U don't deserve mah man tears.

3. U have to be a girl and like fatty fat fat kids to cry.

4. Just a terribad ep. Each ep has gotten horrible & predictable.

5. I took the pleasure and went to episode 6 forum discussion, looked for the people who supported mitty, & laughed at their posts until i broke blood vessels. die mitty die!!! Nyahahhahahahah!!!

Mitty T___T

That was one hell of a sacrifice. Don't fire the flare and you'll be safe but Isla might suffer grave damages or fire the flare at the cost of your life but possibly keeping your friends safe. Then if both of them bail at the same time, the enemy would have immediately shot them down in mid-air. If one remains, then he could at least act as a diversion until the other is at a safe distance.

The top brass was willing to send students to do recon suggests they lack manpower or they view the students as dispensable.

Chiharu angst incoming. I hope Faust dies in the next episode >__>

Truly heartrending stuff here. Textbook bravery and Martyr-dom stuff here.
Next episode is still gonna be a fight so I wonder how long it will take for everyone else to find out about Mitty's sacrifice. Have friends in the army and this sort of bravery just hits you hard. Even for an anime character, I salute you.

Ignacio being Claire's bodyguard wasn't much of a surprise. He was a slum kid in support of the new regime, but I wonder how Ari and Kal will take it once they find out who exactly Claire is.

Ah well, its still gonna be a fire fight for the first half of the next episode at least, we'll worry about it when it comes.

So the Sky Clan has their own floating island? Seems like one giant game of king of the hill, I mean, king of the sky...

It was an alright episode, It figures that only 1 of them was going to make it back alive.

I hope the action continues for the rest of the show, I'm curious where this is all going.

Mitty's death was sad but not surprising. To be honest, the predictability kind of undermined the emotional impact.

Also, does anyone else feel the story moving in a random, almost plotless direction? I mean, it's going to be a 1-cour show, and they kind of 'wasted' (for the lack of a better word) the last episode as it contributed little to the story. And 7 episode in we still know nothing about Ignacio - neither as a person nor what his involvement might be. I still have high expectations for this show, but I really really hope we get some insight to the seemingly haphazard elements that are being inserted in each episode eg. the 'barbarian' attackers, the politics of the country, wind revolution's details/legacy, Ignacio!!, the supernatural aspects (wind power etc), the agenda of the higher ups on Isla...so many things.

RIP Mitty. so that's why it's called Glorious Death. I thought Chiharu is also going to die but oh well, at least she's alive. Saw Ignacio being Claire's bodyguard for about a mile away. Based on info and preview, Kal-el and Ariel is definitely going to run into more trouble. I wonder who will die next.

In war, someone (friend/s) is bound to die. Didn't want Mitty to die, but it can't be helped and was expected. Good thing Chiharu survived. It's a good thing (which is also a bad thing) they didn't develop the minor characters too much for us to be attached to them and feel sad when they die.

hmm I thought it would be normal to have your lights off when doing a suprise attack? It seemed like Isla guys was suprised when the enemy turned them off...

also all that gun fire isnt enough of an indication where the planes are? or is that a super flare they were firing?

finally after Isla guys start attacking any reason why the enemy is still trying to take down the single plane up above? oh and three planes going after 1 plane when there are a shit load below? really?
hmm maybe they didnt know how many planes were above but all of these added together just seems odd...

oh another thing is it that easy to which seats on a single prop aircraft? at altitude and all that wind?

could just be my disappointed at the episode and show in general.. slowly starting to loose interest cause I am not feeling anything for the characters at all....

I know this coming, the death flag was showed on the last episode when Mitty and Chiharu hold each other hand. Predicted episode, but still, this is too fast. He was a good guy and they're a nice couple. I was hope can see this couple 'till the end, but dem.

Well, about Ignacio know about Claire, it was mentioned in the early eps(forgot which eps), so it doesnt rlly gv me a surprise.
But, oh god, once again.. why it must be Mitty, why not Ignacio or that Fausto?!!
It is a good eps, but somehow annoyed me.

That was truly a glorious death T^T I would've liked to say at least I'm glad lovely Chiharu survived, but now she'll probably go emo :(

I still don't get why he didn't jump too. Yeah he's injured and it would've increased the chances of being shot mid-air + Death flags XD But still he could've at least tried to survive :*(

Poor Chiharu. RIP Mitchan. U died like a BOSS. He'll probably have a rank up to a lieutenant or even higher with the achievement he made.

The enemy seem to be must more intelligent than Isla thinks. I wonder if we'll see any characters from their side?

I'm hating the bitch Countess so f'n much. How she took Claire away. And we finally know what Ignacio's relationship to Claire is.

Nxt ep seems friggin serious as hell. Ari is bleeding profusely and stuff. Shit will get even more real.

Well people can only blame themselves if they didn't expect this to happen. Wolfgang was right -- in war, there are always going to be deaths. Mitsuo's death was a good one though. I must say they did a great job building up to it even though it was quite predictable. Boy, is Noriaki gonna feel devastated for talking trash about Mitsuo just the night before.

And I'm guessing next episode we might see some more casualties. Fausto, maybe? Although he was kind of a prick to Karl, his decision to fight was at least somewhat admirable. I'm just gonna rage really hard if either Karl or Claire dies. That better not happen.

Wow...just wow. I mean, I saw this coming with their sudden closeness in the last episode, but God this really hurts.

I couldn't help the few tears that escaped my eyes. I would hate to be Chiharu in that moment...just like, why the hell am I even alive if you're gone? Ahh.

Tugged at my heartstrings too much, this episode. I applaud it. I also appreciated the break from Kal-el and Claire. It's refreshing.

Still can't get enough of that ED. It's simply haunting.

You all expected the death ? Guess I should pay more attention/watch the previews and check the episode title :D

well anyways, I "liked" Mitty's death. It was kinda tragic for me since I didn't predict it - at least not until he got shot - but in my opinion it really was "glorious death" so it was a well executed, sad event.
Ignacio being Claire's bodyguard was also something I didn't see coming but it totally makes sense.

Guess this show isn't one of this season's shows that I'm hooked on so I probably missed a bunch of other obvious info. Looking forward to the next episode(s) to see what else I didn't but could've realized during eps 1 + 2 ^_^

Why is it always the fat ones that die?? either them or the blacks.

Seriously though, the trainees' planes are just so damn primitive compared to the knights' and the enemies' planes. Can their puny rifle even damage those jet fighters? they probably need to hit them many times while the enemy has automatic guns that can shoot them down in seconds.
