DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Episode came out early with promo for Alice in Deadly School (Special), as part of New Year Special Broadcast. https://twitter.com/gekidol_anime/status/1346064373710635013 My 1st thought is: HOW MANY ORIGINAL IDOL SHOWS are we having this season? Lay-Duce's I★Chu: Halfway Through the Idol Shin-Ei Animation's Idolls! Lerche's Idoly Pride This at first glance sounds to be an idol version of Revue Starlight (which is one of my all-time underrated masterpiece shows), but also, it looks like Gakkougurashi or School-Live (in the school sense) since their soul purpose is to re-enact this: https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/08/13-1/alice-in-deadly-school-anime-adaptation-announced --> Bear in mind that this news is 4+ years old, if you're wondering how this and Alice in Deadly School are correlated. As for 1st impressions, other than Hoods Entertainment being another low budget studio, I don't really know what to make sense about this show. The "newbie entering into an unfamiliar-yet-familiar scene" troupe is seriously getting irritating this season alone (about 5-7 shows doing this). There's just something VERY mysterious about this show. At least it's doing something different: the post-apocalypse setting of the "Alice in Deadly School - Paradox" zombie survival stage play. |

| The OP and ED are pretty good Man, Seria is so cute, I wonder if Higuchi is a tsundere lol, and I love Sakakibara's long black hair, and Sakakibara's voice actor is Hanazawa Kana! "Gekidol" and "Alice In Deadly School" seem to be related. So is there really a correlation between the two, or just because they share a studio? I am confused XD |

I am confused XD They're 2 different works, but AFAIK Gekidol is using "Alice in Deadly School"'s setting and adding idol music to it. |

| This looks like to be a performance troupe anime like Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight more than a regular idol anime. However, it's still looking pretty interesting anyway especially with those holograms technology. |

| I liked the op song. It looks like it has a plot but I don’t know what kind of plot it is, we’ll probably understand it in a few episodes. Hearing KanaHana made me happy. It kinda reminded me of Act Age, which made me miss it. |

| Alright so Gekidol and Alice in Deadly School aired together and related to each other...maybe Deadly School is a "play" cause the last sentence she mentioned their "best work"... But anyway acutally I had two Idol shows this season which looked promising to me: Idoly Pride and this one, was very looking forward those two... This one disappointed me a little acutally...i don't know but with the spy eye girl and the technology things it reminded me of 22/7, the stage is more like Revue Starlight. The OP is really good no doubt. Well many questions in genral still about the setting, let's see how it continues. |

| Anime! There's something fundamentally wrong with your stupid ass. This have a million males in it, and ALL of them pissed me of IMO Idols are suppose to be pure. I've high standards when it come to purity. For Having all those repulsive males in this,,, I give anime 1/10 The girls were cute and some Yuri vibes. But Its not enough. And for me this was a extremely disappointing first episode |

| That was kind of amusing yet quite normal too. Seria's joined the group and looks like she can do method acting to some extent. Ofc everything gotta remind me of Act Age these days. I like the girl HanaKana's voicing, she already seems quite amusing and cute too. |

| The first half gave me Revue Starlight vibes, as posters above had noted. The second half is... a zombie invasion? I thought this was gonna be your usual idol show (went in blind) then I'm treated to a hole in the city, Seria seeing this ghost girl (?) and that president guy with the monitors watching her. Well. The zombie invasion half is alright, although I wonder why the helicopter just didn't pick them up on the roof and instead had to land on the courtyard. |

| This looks like a theatrical group rather than the idols. They even stated that the greatest act ever was funnily, another entry of these show. Idk why the name of these is Gekidol, tho. So, it might become a confusion (or am i the one that don't understand. Lol) Anyway, the world-building looked promising with a whole city dissapearance and its futuristic setup. Ikebukuro has been lost its area as a whole. That TMS looked cool too. The hologram system that could expand the stage settings into more realistic (5D? Once again i am too much thinking). Maybe that thing was the reason behind the dissapearance? What about that girl and her eyes? Many thing still unexplained that became a mystery for the show. So, to make it short, i hope they can build it up again until its get answered, rather than just focusing to the CGDCT elements that become a central of these episode. The girls design, undoubtly, very cute. Thats the whole point that make my decided to watch till the end. Thats it for now. |

| It's...A little strange and I prob expected a bit more then this, but suppose we'll know more as we go along. Part of me does feel though, they put the effort into the main characters or the characters we should care more fore, and the rest seem blank lol. |

Lol) geki come from engeki which mean theather so literally, Gekidol is Theatre Idol |

| It seems pretty bland to me although I will say that the visuals are good. I don't do this and it's rare. BUT for my good sakes, I'm not gonna list this anime, even though I watched the whole first episode. I kinda know what I'm getting. An optimistic shounen-like girl who tries to reach the TOP by being a stage performer. And yeah I know what I will get, but watching this weekly is not gonna be pleasant. So I'm gonna hold this off, maybe by March when this anime ends. |

| haven't watched alice in deadly school yet felt bamboozled that that wasn't the real show and instead it's ova from this. so uhh not sure what to think about this show like it's very below average but the vibes it's giving off don't feel like a comedy or a CGDCT everything seems super sus from the giant part of the city gone to that one girl straight up looking like a android dont have much of a desire to watch more if it doesn't go somewhere different at this rate but hey you get a bonus mark for wild Hanazawa |

| The characters look very young, and the scenes of ed are a bit erotic. Couldn't understand what the first episode was talking about. I finished watching it in a daze, but it also left me in suspense. Looking forward to unexpected story development. |

| This turned out to be like revue starlight with the acting and stuff. I wonder how it'll turn out with the mysterious things that Seria saw. This episode was not bad. Hoping to see the darkside of this anime. |

| From the first episode, the show seems quite mediocre. Everything so far is uninspired, and there really isn't anything unique. It might get interesting later on, though, so let's see. And oh, this is my first actual Idol anime. |

| Although I expected something between Gokudolls and general idol anime from the title, but unfortunately it's not. (Though I applied kanji character meaning 'violent', 'fierce' and so on to 'Geki', probably it means 'play' or 'theatrical'.) |

| Nice art, interesting world, rare inclusion of disabled representation... ....Absolutely abysmal and contrived script. What a shame. The premise is really cool and the art budget is there, but this first episode just ended up being a testament to how a bad script can ruin the potential of a series. |
