Do you have an episode, or a couple of episodes of any anime that you hold dear close to your heart, but not that much with the actual series itself.

For Example :"" the ant-man arc in HxH 2011 was the best arc , if it was an anime on its own, it would be on top of my favourite list.""
OR
""i love a naruto episode, but not really happy about the whole series.""

In my case, I really love yosuga no sora last 3 episodes, but really meh at the anime series as a whole.

i cant be the only one here, do you have a favourite episode(s) ?
Yo, lets share :D

I rated both Blood C and Katanagatari a modest 6/10
But they both have incredible final episodes that if I were to rate as individual episodes I would give a 10/10

For NANA i liked when Nana O and Ren meet again, also when sachi and her ex meets again in the bar while she is pregenant.

Azumanga Daioh Second Year Cultural Festival.
Ghost in the Shell SAC Backstory episodes in both seasons.
FLCL Episode 01.
Shinsekai Yori last episode.

~20 of my 50 favorite episodes are probably from my favorite anime Cowboy Bebop. And in generally I love good episodic shows which is where I most often encounter individual standout episodes, but a lot of those are from shows I generally regard highly. In non-episodic shows it's rare to come upon individual episodes that can impress me on their own to that degree. It's more about the journey and consistency in those shows.
Also picking the final episode of a show feels like cheating because it's the culmination of everything that the show was trying to accomplish before that (ideally).

One thing that comes to mind tho is Tokyo Ghoul. Nevermind season 2, but season 1 had 3 standout episodes (1, 8 and 12) and episode 8 is actually by far my favorite and seems to be very underrated (people usually talk more about the other two). I'm not even exaggerating when I'm saying I still think it was probably the best episode of the season it aired it (and I watched like 30+ shows each season back then). Cinematography, framing, animation, directing, emotional impact, action, shocking reveals the episode really had it all. I also think it's by far the best episode in portraying the underlying theme of the show, which is the hope but eventual failure to reach an understanding/coexistence of humans and ghouls. Definitely one of the most memorable individual episodes for me.

Speaking of Monogatari I also have to mention the Koimonogatari arc (I think from season 2). By far my favorite Monogatari arc (and OP too). If that was one of the arcs that got its own OVA entry that entry would be in my favorites at 10/10.
I probably regret this post by now.

The final two episodes of Dragonaut the Resonance for cheekily copying Code Geass' World of C concept.

And, well not exactly the full episode, but two particular scenes from two episodes of SAO's Aincrad Arc one in Episode 5 under the tree and the other in Episode 9 or 10 or 11, I dunno, whichever, when they said goodbye to that fisherman guy. Both episodes made brief forays into the philosophical discussion of the thin divide between reality and virtual reality. But of course SAO being SAO it quickly got sidelined because the author's thinking process apparently goes like: "Oh look! An actual great idea! Quick! KILL IT!"

The first episode who comes to mind is the 12th of Bakemonogatari. Like, the Monogatari Series has a ton of good episodes, but that episode was just perfect. And then when the ending of the series plays at the end of the episode, ufff...

There's also Nisemonogatari episode 8 ;)

Mm, episode 12 of Steins;Gate and episode 8 of TTGL both hit like a truck. Except I liked where Steins;Gate went after episode 12, whereas TTGL took a sharp downturn for me after episode 8. Up until that point, TTGL was a solid 8/10 or so, but everything after that was 4/10 material for me, so...I just sort of met in the middle with a 6/10, which is being a bit generous since I treated 1/3 of the series as being of equal importance as 2/3 of the series, especially since the meat of what it is comes in the latter half and the first 8 episodes were just buildup.

Otorimonogatari & Koimonogatari were really the only parts of Monogatari SS that stood out to me on the whole as being great, but the last episode of Onimonogatari was quite touching even though I found everything other episode of Onimonogatari to be uninteresting, so within an arc I didn't really like on the whole the last episode was fantastic. The last episode of Nisemonogatari had a specific scene that really spoke to me when Araragi and whatsherfacedon'trememberhername are done fighting and she starts talking about the two Chinese philosophers and their takes on human morality, and following that up with her explaining Kaiki's take on the fake possessing more value than the real. Tying those two bits together kind of had a message that really sort of spoke to me. Also, Nadeko's arc in Bakemonogatari because it had the best fanservice scenes in the whole series bar none. That's what the Monogatari series is to me, really ._. Just a few moments that really, really shine surrounded by stuff that's not particularly good or bad.

One of my fave scenes is the bit in Toradora where Ryuuji starts drowning in the swimming pool and gets pulled out then Taiga screams 'Ryuuji is mine' over his body. So many feels <3

I also love every scene in Spice and Wolf where Holo cries and Lawrence hugs her tight :3

Puuuh there are a lot and I don't remember them all, but here are few.

Shingeki no Kyojin episode 21 is probably the most epic episode I've ever seen.

Although I thought that Cowboy Bepop was pretty mediocre overall, the last two episodes were great especially the last scene.

Naruto had many amazing moments/arcs like the fight against Zabuza and Haku or the Chuunin Exams.
The same can be said about Fairy Tail, they are rarer than in Naruto, though.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

As a whole I rated Utena a 7, but if I could have rated it by season, I would have rated season 3 an 8.

Also, while I found season one of My Hero Academia lackluster, I did like the final episode.

I don't have any particular fav episode when it comes to anime since most of them are not episodic

The only thing that comes to mind is Homura backstory episode and Cowboy bebop episode 5.

The final episode of Haibane Renmei - whilst I did generally enjoy the entire atmosphere of the show, I hadn't quite gotten why so many others had considered it to be so extremely underrated until the execution of the final episode.

Also, episode 9 of Kiznaiver. I really love the show as a whole, and whilst the arc between Yuta and Maki is probably my favourite, the climax of episode 9 was absolutely amazing in my opinion.

No Game No Life Episode 3 (I think)- the episode with Sora's speech about Imanity

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon Episode 13- Hated the show, but that last episode was pretty well done.

The first episode of Owarimonogatari: Not only was it the first episode that I saw of the Monogatari Series, it was the first I episode of anything from Studio Shaft. I was not familiar at all with any of the characters, Shaft's quirks, Shinbou's directing, or Nisio Isin's writing. Being so unfamiliar, I was swept by the full force of Monogatari's magic. The imagery, dialogue, directing, music, philosophy, voice acting, execution, and other aspects overwhelmed me. Never imagined that I would be so entranced by two individuals conversing for the whole of 40 odd minutes (which passed like a blink of an eye), and staying in that one room. My delight was akin to a space explorer discovering a whole new world.

This episode is still among my favorite anime episodes, and is my favorite Monogatari Series episode. There have been more impactful moments in the series, but as a full episode, I think this was the (present) peak. Honorable mentions to Bakemonogatari Episode 12, Nekomonogatari (White) Episode 5, and Owarimonogatari Episode 11.

I felt like Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun was pretty average as a whole, however I found the first half (maybe up to around ep 6?) which focused heavily around loneliness to be so profound and so touching.
Even though the anime went a bit downhill from there Imo, I still feel like it's very special to me because of those few episodes.

Thinking of a singular episode though, episode 36 of Hunter x Hunter (2011) has always stuck with me - probably the most memorable & my favourite fight in anime for me.
