I wonder how much of this anime is based on Watari's personal experience and how much he's just making up as he goes along. Either way it's always amazingly fun to watch lol

Chitose's arrogant and narcissistic nature has almost no limit it seems and Kuzu-san really lives up to his name :3

definitely comes from his colleagues who force him to make this franchise (the whole LN, anime & manga)
by colleagues i mean publisher(s) & him wanting to run away from oregairu for a while
this is a joint media that basically try to emulate shirobako from worst case scenarios & made a joke on it

Chitose learning the cruelty of the interwebs. Poor girl never expected what would await her there DX.. As usual, great episode. Still my favorite this season, and so underrated as well.

It is hard to watch this series. I always wish for things to go wrong when I watch anime, but it is extremely painful and difficult to watch a series you know is proper heading in that direction. This is a collective messup as well which makes it so many times worse.

EDIT: Talking plot-wise, not the quality of the actual series. I have side opinions regarding that.

I thought that the person voicing Chitose did kind of a bad job with their cry-acting. It just felt really forced and flat. I can't tell if the show is being meta or not.

I think it's quite obvious she was half crying to get sympathy from Gojo. She's authentic in that she's superficial and selfish. Specially in front of Gojo, a close family member. In front of others, she does try to keep a facade up.

Anyway, it seems Kuzu plans to use the seiyuu for some fanservice or something to boost sales? He's quite the trash lol

Hmm so Chitose's avenging her brother by selling more Cd's than he did lol

seems Chitose is still not taking things seriously

Lol it seems that Chitose was not the only one who decided to check
out her anime products

Lol her default reply to fans though

But it looks like despite their hard work in the anime
the light novel isn't doing well

Lol Chitose teaching Yae how to be a good seiyuu and how to behave

Well its hard knowing the truth as expressed by the fans
its no wonder Chitose was so pissed off

Well looking at the anime i can tell that the animation and characters both
look awful
The poor author though
Kuzu clearly has no idea how to actually create a good anime

Despite that Chitose hasn't lost that drive and enthusiasm of hers

hmm Chitose is really fixated on the fact that she managed to sell 10,000
cds but thats just one aspect of a seiyuu's job

the author feels like he's just a toy to be played with tbh
lol Chitose is always being put right by her brother

Lol the director that was in charge of the storyboards is way too
overworked because of the constant changes
Its funny that he managed to record his affirmative responses first though

lol Kuzu just passing on all the responsibilities to his assistant during the
meeting

Lol Chitose is gone back to her old arrogant self again
despite her brothers best attempts

hmm seems the anime still has fans
and its nice to see the girls put in the effort

still Momoka still has more fans turning up to see her
it will be ages before Chitose can be as popular and skilled as Momoka though

But despite this the anime is not going well at all
and the poor author as well
he seems to be in shock

Wow the fan reaction to Chitose's performance was pretty hostile
but that would teach her to be more professional in her work i guess
Man she needs to get rid of her stuck up attitude

Chitose is a goddess. Loved that huge ego of hers, cute, making them smug faces and in general wanting everything to be about her.

Them guys at the store lol
Pretty harsh with the anime and for good reason. Just watching the guys make that anime adaption is cringy.
Gojo was pretty cool, liked that scene where he pulls her cheeks lol

Are they being self-critical? Really, this episode lacked any clear direction and there were many parts of it that simply didn't stick well together. One of the worst in fact. And yeah, main heroine is trash, she's the least likeable of the bunch.. I thought they already got rid of her ugly behavior with afureko re-recording episode but it certainly seems otherwise. You just want to punch her for her arrogant behaviour and there is no way someone would want to root for her after she does. I wouldn't be surprised if those were the actual comments for this series taken from nico nico.

Still, I dunno what this anime tries to achieve (is it showing her growing up as seiyuu or is it more about harsh anime business, about those girls living as idols/celebrities or are they aiming at comedy? I'm really not sure). Shirobako did like hundred time better.

Really, even beach episode can't save it now, I'm literally on verge of dropping this and I honestly hope they think of something original to save it.

I'm surprised the cast managed to retain their sanity thus far... The original creator as well as the director losing it was hilarious, while still retaining the bond of duty. Due to all the criticism, perhaps Chitose will be able to take a step forward now.

It's about the MC's life and career.
But the problem is that the MC is unlikable (according to you) to root for, and her career is so problematic it looks hopeless. GN shows many strong subpoints that the viewers tend to be distracted to those, and thus got lost about the direction of the show. This show shows weak hopes about the direction of the MC's life. In the other hand, Shirobako has a very clear focus. "Finish the anime production successfully" is the a very strong direction for the two cours and even there are problems, the hope is still there. In GN, it looks so hopeless we give up that direction (unless we trust Chitose's never-give-up stance). And the ultimate direction of Shirobako is that silly (but grand and not immature) high school goal. GN has nothing of those.

It seems like it'd be simple to assign one set of behaviors and personalities or describe who is good or bad in this by describing who is passionate and who is not, but I think one thing that really grabs me about this anime is that almost all these characters are actually passionate about something, even if it's just about being popular, making the most money for the least amount of effort, and so on. In this particular episode, they went through the different types of people by comparing them to "bizarre" animals, and I think that was a fun little comparison (though actually not needed). But what grabs me even more is that some of these characters actually are passionate about the same thing, yet they're still different.

I really love the characters who are passionate about doing quality work in particular for this series. I don't mind Chitose, who is passionate about popularity rather than quality, but the passionate about quality characters definitely happen to be my faves, because really you understand their disappointment.

I think it's a good thing to note as people go forward... you're going to work with people who are passionate about what they're doing for different reasons. This can slow you down, mess with your career, make you look bad, and all types of stuff. I'm kinda interested in seeing if this anime will handle how they feel people should deal with that reality, but I definitely think seeing Chitose improve would be a more important focus if they have to decide between the two.

For a moment I really was feeling for Chitose when she sitting there almost crying. I was really wondering what could have happened. Luckily she destroyed that herself mere seconds later with "I only want to hear good comments about me" or whatever it was...

Poor Gojou-kun who has to deal with his sister's attitude >.>

Also wtf was with those subs this episode? Are there proper subs available for this or only these "I dont give a fuck"-subs.

edit: almost forgot about the most funny scene. The writer "pretending" the adaption of his LN didn't happen was hilarious :D Although kinda saddening I guess considering how much work he must have put into it. It's hard to lose a bad reputation but if he's lucky only the studio will get shit for that.

I know this comment is old but if I can step in. The show you mention to my knowledge is making and creating anime. This is about a college student aiming to become a voice actor in anime. BIG DIFFERENCE...so you can't compare it to that show when they are tackling two different subjects. Now yeah the directing of this episode was sloppy but I think it is clear for the most part with the humor. It is looking to show the voice acting side and how business side of anime is just super fucking sloppy. I think it has a clear idea. Though my concern was how they just finished recording for the series. This was the weakest episode of the bunch though.

Why is her brother such a piece of shit? He is not giving her any moral support whatsoever. And since when is believing in success and being happy about the little successes, despite failures, something bad? This series has some really weird morals, mixed up and upside down.

Ok. why is this anime making authors look like the most pathetic people on earth lol? seriously. from the author's very first appearance he looked like an otaku's worst case scenario, and that was only confirmed so far.even Welcome to the NHK's protagonist would be like"Comeon dude >_>".
His denial of the anime's existance reminded me of the classic"There is no Tsukihime anime"stance that Tsukihime fans take XD

also, some of the comments on the video were actually positive,so it wasnt all bad. glad her bubble got popped though lol XD
