Yes, yes, YES! At last, the best girl wins. So Megumi and Tomoya fell for each other for the same reason. A match made in heaven. Utaha and Eriri also grew a lot. Opting for the main heroine route was a bold choice. An incredibly hard one, Eriri... Utaha's plot proposal for the sequel caught me off-guard. I breathed a sigh of relief when it turned out to be her fantasy. Reality was much more delightful. A shout-out to Akane Kosaka, though. That woman needs all the luck than she can muster. Having a stroke at her age is not a good sign. Still, Kosaka was great. |

Finally got around watching the movie. It was very nice, I always liked Megumi but honestly all the girls are lovable in this. (plus the others have their manga spinoff where they win anyway) Everything was concluded rather well. The troll after credits scene almost got me good tho. Nice one! |

Rewatched the movie after rewatching the anime again. Kind of amazing how I found the actual series overall to be weaker, but the movie to be far better than before. It helps that I grew really fond of the Megumi-Tomoya character interactions throughout the show, but other than the slightly rushed nature of the film, it was excellent overall in the fun, emotions and narrative department with a great conclusion to the story, especially for Megumi and Tomoya's relationship as a whole feeling really satisfying to watch here. Even visually the movie was really good, and the voice acting by Megumi's character in particular really struck a chord with me. Megumi was someone I didn't care for in the first watch but after seeing the movie at first, and then rewatching the franchise as a whole, she's definitely a top-tier female character for me, maybe top 40 overall minimum and top 40 is quite the standard for someone who's seen and read a fuckton of stuff. I'd rate the movie a strong 9/10, and the overall anime a 6/10 given how the 2 seasons prior to this excellent movie were too inconsistent and average as a whole. |

finally got around to seeing this as my backlog of movies continue, well shit this was nearly perfect as a Megumi fan not sure how i doubted her not being the winner despite everything from the start pointing towards her as the main heroine but you know your cast is good when you still feel sad for the losers (though i'm sure if i remembered everything those two did i'd less bad about them) even with the two hour run time it still felt a bit rush on some of the characters closure i guess you could say Utaha got her moments and the end of S2 because she was mostly shafted here and Michiru/Izumi were never up for debate in the first place /mid writing this i didn't realize there was a post credits chapter holy crap that troll if it ended up being real i don't know what i would have done lol thankfully it ended on a even better note. honestly wouldn't mind a OVA doing their reunion project at least i wouldn't have to fear about it like the love comedy milking turning that one in to trash 8.5/10 /for the movie /overall series flat7 this one was just miles better |

This have been on my bucket list for years and after watching so many romance/harem animes, i marathon the whole series and gotta admit this one stands on the S tier with the best girl winning and all the characters having their significant development. While the 2 seasons were 8.5, this movie is 10. A great finale to a good series. |

So I finally decided to watch this, been out for a while but just couldnt find the motivation to watch it. Anyways this was a great end to a very fun journey of raising a plain girlfriend into the perfect girl. Been team plain girl from the start and glad she won the bowl! loved how her personality had quite the switch ever since her first appearance. Also... God damn did they kiss a lot, and that long ass sequence of hand holding from the earlier parts of the movie while they were waiting for the train was both adorable and put me on edge like hell. Also the staff at it again with the thigh fetish, there were tons of Katou thigh plump shots throughout the dang run, not that Im complaining, I am a thigh man myself so I welcome best girl thighs all the way! So thats it for this series, it was a hell of a ride, thank you Megumi Katou, for making it harder for me to find 3D girls attractive. PS. I saw that troll at the end a mile away. |

Great movie and a great conclusion. It was nice seeing development for both the girls AND the Harem MC in here, which is pretty rare for Harem anime. Plus, we got a complete adaptation, which is also rare and cool af. Pacing felt fine for me, and I'm glad the movie was 2 hours long as opposed to most anime movies which are barely just above the 1 hour mark. I already knew from the beginning Megumi would win, it was obvious, and she has overgone so much development, I really like her. Although my best girl is Utaha, I feel like Megumi really deserved this win, and they make a super cute couple (Imma read the Utaha spinoff afterwards tho) I felt like the Eriri rejection was nice, it had to happen and closed some edges. Some said that Utaha was also rejected at some point in the LNs and it wasn't adapted? But for me I guess it's fine. Utaha was basically already "rejected" when she understood she stood no chance against Megumi (plus all the drama in S2 with Tomo needing to choose the script routes and stuff) And hey, we got adults timeskip, 5 freaking kisses, a ring on Megumi's hand, and the really cute final seconds of the cast thanking everyone for their work. 9/10 |

I wonder if fans were really satisfied with the adaptation. I mean, sure, best girl won and this movie complete the anime series. But the adaptation is too rough imo. While it is a shame the studio changed, I might tolerate the graphic difference. But that ending part where they switch the scene between eriri-utaha and kato back and forth is beyond what I can handle. I mean, they should be able to handle it more smoothly right. |
if you want good story, read novel. if you want good graphic, read manga. anime is beyond that. |

Finally got to watch this. As hardcore Utaha fan, the post credit plot was ofc my favorite part. The ending was kinda given from the start but I kept my hopes up based on the parting scene from 2nd season. Eriri got some character closure/development, but Utaha was kinda left as she was, too bad. Altogether a great finale for a great series. |

This movie was SO cute~ It's amazing that after only 2 seasons with only 12 and 11 episodes each that I care so much about each of these characters. Even though Eri is my favorite, everything about the plot was just so well done. It's been a long time since I felt those "anime blues" after finishing a show. The epilogue was a fun twist and it was the best kind of fanservice. I had a lot of fun watching this. I have to re-watch the show again soon. |

I was sort of playing catchup in the beginning there, it's been awhile since I've seen the previous season of this series. I seemed to remember a few things as the movie progressed though, and overall it wasn't hard to enjoy it. I do sort of wish I had seen it right after seeing the previous season though. Momcest and Alicization posters? Even though I didn't particularly care for that season of SAO -- nor that show -- I always did like how this series put little easter eggs like that in the background. This movie mostly just makes me feel bad for Megumi. At least the first half, I was sort of taken back by the sudden twists and turns. I'm definitely glad it turned out how it did though, I never cared much for Utaha or Eriri. I suppose the title makes a lot more sense now too. I saw someone mention trolling, but the end still got me in the beginning. I came for the technical aspects of game development and stayed for the plot and characters. It's definitely a good series that I'd recommend wholeheartedly. |

I finally decided to watch this movie at last. It has been years since I watched the TV anime when it aired, but the characters were fresh in my mind after reading the manga version recently. Although I bit on the obvious side, I'm glad that Megumi won in the end. The amount of conversations she had with Tomoya during the development of their game was really cute and, eventually, led up to the excellent scene with them sharing their first kiss. Because of the way the story was going, I felt really sympathetic for Eriri. I know some people couldn't care less because of her betrayal of Tomoya before, but I did like how she and Tomoya came to terms with their choices and how both of them had their chat outside, where Tomoya kept apologising over and over, before crying after Eriri ask him "Did you love me?" That did hit hard since you can tell they did love each other back then and most likely still do now, but life can be a painful experience. Not just Eriri, but everyone else made pretty bad judgemental calls through the whole series (even Megumi as well during season 2) which shows their imperfections. So when Utaha, holding back her emotions, was telling Eriri to finally move on, while Eriri herself was crying VERY hard made me tear up quite a bit. At least she got her closure, bless her. =') The post credit scene was a blast, too. As a dedicated FGO player, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Tomoya's phone showing the game with the infamous double Skadi farming strategy, but aside from that Easter egg, the whole interactions with the cast years later was still great. 9/10 is my score for this movie. A good improvement over the TV series and had some well developed moments with Megumi and Eriri, as well as some important closures, too. |

Damn they really fooled me there at the end, nice to see a glimpse of their happy adult future. Although clear from the start, it must've been tough for Utaha and Eriri to accept and support Tomoya's romance with Kato. Fantastic movie to end the series with, especially great to see how through Tomoya the 'boring' Kato has changed into an actual Main Heroine showing some heartfelt emotions like frustration, anger, sadness but also love. |

This is the besssttt but I have one question.. What did tomoya mean by "You want to do it" in that Cafe scene when he asked Megumi and she replied "it is for the game, right?" Just what they did that night?? 😅 I am serious about that.. I need to know how much their relation was deep or intimate at the beginning of movie till before confession. |

About the last part where you mention Utaha's closure in the light novel... I think you didn't fully get it.... In Girls Side 3, Utaha convinced Eriri that to Tomoya, they have become "objects of admiration": women, who he will never really see as women.... That is exactly what she says in this scene in Volume 13: "Whether it was with Utako Kasumi or Koisuru Metronome, it doesn’t matter. Because both are myself. That’s why, you were in love with me." “That’s why, Tomoya Aki… You have to keep catching up after me from now on. As a fan who keeps worshipping a great writer. And as a rival who will overtake that writer.” “…Yep.” So, in short, she knows and confirms from Tomoya that he loved the "author" Utako Kasumi and her "work" Koisuru Metronome, but not the woman Utaha Kasumigaoka is.... in contrast to his love for Megumi ... "I love you Megumi, I love the 3D (furigana: real) you" to which Megumi replies that she understands what he meant from the confession: that Tomoya loves her not as a main heroine or a circle member, but as a woman. |

Hmmm it was... okay I guess? Less fanservice than expected and less comedy than expected. Also less drama than expected though, which is actually a good thing. Megumi winning was not surprising for anyone I assume, the question was only if they would adapt it or keep it as a harem anime until the end. First part was good, in the middle it was kinda boring and the last part was okay. Not sure how I feel about the last 10 minutes, but I guess it was a fine ending. The seasons were much better though. |

Finally the movie is the last of its series starting with them continuing with another game With some mishaps in Tomoya's way and lead Akane bedridden in the hospital that sure is unfortunate both for His circle and hers' Well that's that and Megumi's finally deserved her spot as Tomoya's main heroine, The ending got me actually but it was another proposal to come and what lead to that is their reunion as a group from the past heard some voices from the staff when it ended this was a good closer. Definitely will miss this series from the start it entertained me a bit and now finally closing in this was enjoyable to say. |

I didn't think I would enjoy a harem anime this much. As a matter of fact, I only recently found out what that term even means. Guess that's what happens when you've only really been watching anime for a few months. Anyway, the main tv series was a 9/10 and this movie a 10/10. Everything from the art, the animation, the comedy and the story was just great. I didn't root for any particular girl, I really enjoyed all 3 of them so I'd be happy either way, and I'm glad it got a conclusive ending and not something open. Megumi seems like a great fit all around. I did feel very bad for the other two though, mainly Eriri because of those crying scenes that they just knocked out of the park, as well as their 10 year history and most importantly, the fact that (to me) they clearly still loved each other as well. Love isn't easy, and even with all the comedy and fan service going on, albeit less so in the movie, that was portrayed very well. Highly enjoyable series and definitely going to re-watch it all in the future! Again, 10/10 for the movie. |

I like Tomoya a little bit better in this movie. GG to the subroutes. I really feel bad for Eriri the most. The childhood friend should've been the winner IMO. Hopefully they'll find their own love as well. Tomoya playing FGO with an all Scáthach team. Nice taste my man! Shit man, that epilogue duped me haha I'm glad everything ended nicely. Very nice movie. Plenty of touching moments. 9/10 |

Jesus when aftercredits started, I was like "what?... what's going on? Don't do this to me. It's some sort of dream, right?" I am glad they didn't pull "subverting expectations" on us. Even if Utaha is, indeed, best girl, winning like this... no, thank you. I better read manga with her route then get out-of-nowhere twist with MC giving up on his dream and breaking up with girl he chose. Already read story with that "twist", don't want to do that ever again. Overall I really, really liked it, solid 7 from me, maybe 7.5, but there are no .5 scores on MAL. |

The best girl won, as expected, leaving the other two tasting a very deserved MAJOR defeat, like, early on there were multiple times where I was cursing both Eriri and Utaha, I dont think they really felt the full weight of what they did at the end of S2, but karma got them in the end. Pity, Megumi really was the least favorite for a majority of this series and while S2 ep8 did wonders, if the drama had been handled better, I could have been routing a bit for the three of them. Coulndt have asked more from this movie, everything considered. How many volumes did this movie adapt, maybe the final 2? If so, there was a lot in between S2 and this to cover, I m surprised that both connected so well, it didnt felt like we missed a lot, maybe most of the volumes skipped were really just extra fluff with barely any development?? By as it may, that we got a movie instead of more seasons did not hamper my enjoyment, really in the end, this conclusion is easily the highest point of the series, and to go out like that, is definitly what any show should be aiming for! I was expecting the scene with both on the bed to be adapted, since it had an illustration and all, but I will the epilogue we got to that, anyday. The after story scene leave me confused early on, like it is not fake that the MC ended up leaving the industry for awhile right?! Everything after that just happened in such quick sucession I was left doubting, but it was good they could cramm all that in the ending, I left feeling like they gone all out in delivering something I can look back and not feel disappointed cuz something could have been handled better. 8.9/10 = 9 pseudofiji said: can i just say: Kousaka Akane is a god tier supporting character, and not to mention, she’s insanely sexy :$ She really jumped way higher in my consideration this movie, despite me still hating her guts here and there, she is not that bad, still far from what I would consider a down right good person, she is moved purely by her ambition and desires, which caused the drama on S2, but also helped the MC tons on this movie, so at least my opinion of her improved a lot from S2. FlamingMangos said: Syureria said: Dhil-J said: are they married ? they also live in the same house there is a ring on Megumi's ring finger btw, Such a Masterpiece Romance Movie. i give 10/10 #TeamMegumi The epilogue is completely anime original that doesn't exist in the LN so there's no such thing as "according to the LN." Megumi is wearing a ring in her ring finger + they're living together which can only mean they're married. Not even sure why the guy asked lmao. Are you for reals? Like, the epilogue was very much needed, holy shit, that is a neat anime original! Without the epilogue I feel it would not leave me as satisfyied for sure, still great but this after story did wonders to make a work that really leaves you without any things to nitpick about. THAT SAID. I have to point out how I never felt the drama to the point of sheding tears, not on the this movie, and never on the TV seasons, this was more of a romcom to entertain you, rather than a drama, which is why that drama on S2 was also so poorly handled. Gameranger436 said: A great conclusion to a good series, that post-credits scene almost gave me a heart attack tho. Definitly, S1 and S2 are not that good, S2 improved a bit but fucked with the ending, this movie was clearly the best thing that happened to the series. Because unlike the childish Eriri, she knows her place and already realize she has no chance. Both characters I ended up disliking at lot at the end of S2, but I can respect Utaha more than Eriri, in the end the consequences of what she did is that both Megumi and Utaha have way more favorites here on MAL, for a reason, like at least 4x more, at the beggining of the series Eriri was my favorite... she fallen a lot to me, pity. HarunoAarex said: Really satisfied but i wanted the other two girls to suffer more, It is not like I dont get you, to me once they did what they did, they should have realized there was no change they were getting him to love them back like that, he was already too dumb an unrealistic of a MC to quickly forgive them like that. Still, I dont think I would have enjoyed the movie more if they suffered further, there is a reason why I gave S2 such a bad score, what happened there happened, I tried my best not to let it sour much my enjoyment of this movie, to a good degree of sucess. IF ANYTHING, I feel that drama on S2 could have been handled much better, not pissing as many people off, and still ending with them leaving the circle, communication is the key, whcih did happen on S2 because the writter wanted major drama and shock value, and FUCK HIM for that, but that was for S2, he did good here. So things on S2 could have been done better, with the movie still in a similiar situation, but me liking Eriri and Utaha way more and being divided between each of the 3 to root for, so S2 put the nail in the coffin, Megumi was the best girl and she proved way here once again, competition was obliterated. greatCanEHdien said: RPWPA said: FlamingMangos said: RPWPA said: Very good ending to a very good series. 8/10. But she had a scene where she asked him if he was in love with her before and he said "Yes" iirc. I feel like a lot of people missed this, but S2E4 is where Utaha get's her closure when Tomoya rejects her scenarios. Her asking Tomoya to choose between Meguri & Riri routes was an indirect confession. At the end of the episode, she asks Megumi to play out the Ruri route, which was essentially her recognizing the fact that Megumi is what Tomoya was looking for ultimately. As for Tomoya's love for Utaha, it was heavily implied he loves her more as a celebrity than an actual romantic interest. Kinda sucks for Utaha because she never really got a chance. Kindly do read this then: https://myanimelist.net/manga/62083/Saenai_Heroine_no_Sodatekata__Koisuru_Metronome If any character deserved this, it was Utaha, I dont think Eriri did ever deseve it, after having betrayed the MC twice already. I am glad there was an complete ending. That is my take too, once she betrayed him twice, she should have realized it herself, there were better ways to go at it, yet she didnt, of course the root of the problem is the writter fucking up her writting there for multiple reasons, and I dont think Megumi needed that to still come on top and be best girl, S2 ep8 did enough. snowykevin said: I love how Eriri was shocked when she found out he moved on to Megumi even though she betrayed him twice and left his circle, were the viewers supposed to feel sympathy for her when she would cry? because honestly both Kasumi and Eriri treated him like shit in comparison to the god tier girl known as Megumi( the only redeeming quality of this series) so I was just angry every time I saw them on the screen. funnyRunny said: kwnji said: now i'm confused, in Brazil we use the engagement ring on the right hand and the married one on the left... well, it may be different in other countries, idk xD That is really possible since in germany it's opposite. Married couples are carrying their rings on the ringfinger of right hand :D The left hand is used for the engagement (if they know it because not everyone knows this since it's older tradition). I just guessed it in same way because why should Megumi carry a ring, when we don't even know that Megumi and Tomoya are married because there are no indication like a nameplate of family name on door. Also Megumi was called as Katou-chan by Tomoya's cousin. So then my conclusion was: If Megumi is carrying a ring on ringfinger on left hand, she is engaged with Tomoya :) Just a dream, but well...when there are any Q&A by author about the epilog and somebody ask him "Is she really engaged?" and he answer "Yes"...i am gonna cry my tears of joy off. Then they are not even a couple of love, they are (nearly)-married couple...the peak of love :D But i am just dreaming...and hoping! I found that in Japan they usually wear married/wedding ring on their left hand, soooo maybe the probability Tomoya and Megumi are married is almost 100%. Today I watched one of the best anime that I was following from 2015. The movie was a good conclusion to this lovely story. everything in this anime was great. The animation and the art was fantastic , music was pleasant and most importantly, the anime was full of lovely characters that I wanted to follow their progress in the story and enjoyed watching them Also, Megumi wore the ring on the left hand, which in Japanese culture means getting married ;) totally, i gave it 9/10 |

Does anyone know what Utaha meant when she said that if Tomoya came to help, he would enter Megumi's route? What does this have to do with Tomoya's romance choice? |

The ending of this anime made my heart mixed for about 1 month. Like White Album 2 whose creator is the same as Saekano. White Album 2 ends sadly and I don't know with whom. Meanwhile Saekano ends up with one person & is happy. My rating is 10/10 :') |

Well I'll be damned. The series is one of the rare ones where the story improves instead of worsens like many anime shows I've watched. Season 1 was meh, Season 2 was above average, but the movie managed to end on a brilliant note. Tomoya did improve quite a lot (but please stop shouting for the love of God), so I no longer detest him as much as in Season 1. And congratulations to the Tomoya x Megumi ship! PS: The waitress at the family restaurant and the nosy barista at the coffee shop are back again! Also, Eriri and Utaha are really pushed to the bottom of the cast credits lmao. |

Loved everything up until Megumi was stood up, & on her birthday. Got worse when he abandoned her (& his 'beloved' game dev project) to go work with Eriri & Utaha. Stopped watching halfway through. I'll finish it another day. Maybe I'll have a different POV EDIT: still felt the same way. I skipped through the Kasumigaoka Utaha & Kashiwagi Eriri scenes The ending was quite the plot twist. Wasn't expecting that At All. Overall, I liked it. |

I would've gone with Utaha or Eriri but I'm just happy this series got a complete adaptation unlike most romance comedies. A 10/10 from me. |

Geeeez... they almost got me in the end when they pulled that fake tragedy of a downward ending only to reveal it was a joke proposal by the once again reunited and happy members of blessing software! We even got a romantic secret kiss scene at the end which was cute. Although it would have been really funny if Kato surprise kissed him in front of everyone else to proclaim Tomoya as her own. Overall, I'm very happy with the ending, best girl of the series won so no complaints here. |

Well that was pretty darn good. Just finished bingeing both Saekano seasons and the movie. I don't get into harem anime for their own sake, but the "meta" elements served as this one's hook and kept me interested. Easily the best harem anime I've seen. Also, Megumi is a next-level waifu. No crazy blushing or stammering, just a (mostly) unflappable demeanor and a peerless ability to cut through Tomoya's nonsense. Her deadpan delivery of the best lines in the series stole all the scenes she was in. |

The epilogue was buying me and I was thinking "what a shit? what is this shit?" but not like in a bad way, I was loving it. Until Iori and others were seen in the restaurant, I kept processing and started laughing for being so naive xDDD El epilogo me lo estaba creyendo y yo pensaba "¿Qué mierda? ¿Qué es esta mierda? ¿Qué esta pasando?" pero no como en el mal sentido, me estaba encantando. Que hasta que se les vio en el restaurante a Iori y demás me quede procesando y empecé a reír por ser tan ingenuo xDDD |
