| The comedy in these episodes is too much, I can't do it haha. Just sat through 6 episodes. I think this is perfect in respect to where anime is going adult-wise. This past year proved there's a niche for [this] marketing. Some of it does feel overwhelmingly inappropriate - especially to someone who hates ecchi. I feel at times it goes 'over the line' out of expectation of the audience, based on what we've received as of late, but stopping just before. It reminds me of the old style of anime we've come to despise, (maybe because of PC culture) especially perverted tropes from a main character. I think if these tropes were removed it would be received better by a wider viewership. The story so far is extremely engaging and moderately paced so this makes up for it: exponentially well done. | An episode to develop the world outlook, but it feels too boring. Is it because it is basically a narrative to explain the background, so the staff focuses on describing the service to refresh everyone? As a child the MC sees the real aphrodisiac, and his curiosity is not incomprehensible, but the barn scene is really crossing the line… Let's put it this way, some Japanese otaku service plots are not really suitable for everyone. Besides, it is really confusing when the clerk recommended this kind of thing to a seven-year-old child. Also, Eris spending all of the ten gold coins at once makes no sense. Doesn't the previous plot to cultivate her money consciousness seem meaningless…? Well it's okay to buy, but why don't you feel anything after it breaks? :-L |

Was that barn scene trying to take off her underwear supposed to be funny? Because it wasn't at all. I am real tempted to drop this anime in absolute disgust. Its this kind of crap that gets the genre the stereotypical degenerate label and pulling that crap on a child for a gag plays into that. |

I think if this got removed it would only hindered Rudy character development since the next episode handle the exact situation but Rudy made a different decision this time which show that he's willing to take a change. The way that I saw is it must be true since Ghysaline is not someone who can make a joke like that. |

I don't read mangas, I will NOT read mangas, I will not listen to what manga readers complain in adaptation to the anime counterpart, I only watch anime except in very few and specific situations. |

| I didn't love the pacing of this episode when I first saw this while airing, but now, actually felt like the pacing was perfectly right for this show. It was slow but meaningful, and I love how the show manages to not only prioritize plot and progression, but world building and characterization through calm episodes too like this. Seeing Rudeus adapt more into the tutor role for Eris and seeing Eris slowly trust Rudeus a bit more compared to their first meeting showcased some nice progression overall. Hell, she was even grateful to him that she bought him an object with her allowance that he looked interested in, which was... quite the medicine indeed. Good thing she doesn't know fancy terms like aphrodisiacs. I just felt like the whole episode felt really relaxing and entertaining to watch (especially Sauros for the way he just yells Eris' name in such a funny manner), while progressing the relationships and growth of characters naturally at the same time. Great stuff. Also, I did talk here before about how the anime loved to add perverted scenes just because with original stuff like what happened at the barn with Rudeus groping Eris, but only recently I learned that this actually happened in the WNs/LNs in Japan, and that the English versions censored this particular bit. Sure the content is controversial, but I'm anti-censorship when it comes to fictional content like this, don't find it right seeing the publishers not fully commit with the material and changing the writing that the author intended to fit their bill a bit easier. Or maybe it's because I've read and loved Toshokan Sensou too much that it's got me thinking too hard about censorship in media in general, and this story here with MT fit the criteria. Love Seven Seas for publishing the series since I have all the available volumes now and intend to get the rest, but wished the censorship of scenes like that weren't there, just because censorship in media doesn't sit well with me. |
