Hi there, I am loving Egghead Island! So many things are coming to light. I feel like we are finally getting answers. Love the fact that there's no fluff in this arc. How do you feel about it?

Yup, it's one of those things that most people will not think of because there tends not to be an overlap of interests when it comes to Lum and Lam, but when the idea is proposed and one thinks about it, it becomes an idea that seems impossible to confirm on the English (or non-Japanese, really) side of the internet but is likely true. The names and origin seem too similar to be a coincidence. However, I haven't been able to find commentary on it, and I don't know what Takahashi would say on the matter. A small amount of general research of aliens will lead one to the Lam image, so I reckon she was probably familiar with Lam before creating UY. Still, this remains simply plausible conjecture.

As an example, it was Kraanerg, who is a pretty big UY fan, who proposed the idea to me. He didn't think of it at all until he saw one of my conversations about Lam with another user. I'm pretty sure he knew about Lam years before as well, but he didn't make the connection until seeing a discussion here on Lam.

True. Haha. I've had a decent number of people ask me about it. Ranging from "What is that creepy demon image you have?" to conversations about aliens and Aleister Crowley. I think most of the people who struck up a conversation about it recognized it as Lam. Incidentally, as Lam is not something the "anime community" pays attention to, it also led to speculation that Lum of Urusei Yatsura fame undoubtedly must be a reference to Lam. I thought about taking this pfp and photoshopping Lum drag onto it as a joke, but I'm much too lazy, and it's too ridiculous. XD

Binged almost all of it in 2 days because it was a banger, its score keeps increasing, not a month ago it was at 8.05 or something
Also such a pain that there's no decent adaptation but apparently there's a sequel that will receive an adaptation in the end of 2023 lmao idk why.

Only for Golden Kamuy because I went in too far without taking notice of all the details, I was completely lost even 50 chapters further so continuing was pointless, thus I felt like restarting and it's worth it xD

For many manga it's still doable to continue even if you don't understand everything or missed out on details here and there but that one nah.

No haha! It's been a 9.49 something in my eyes so it stayed at 9 but it was kinda difficult not to rate 10 because it's just marvelous and brilliant at winning over the reader with its story.

I also really like GK but because I want to write down everything that happens for every chapter due to the multitude of details and small hints it takes ages before I can make progress in the manga, even though it's like top 5 of all manga I've read.

Yee I think you won't really mind the sudden scenes of nudity ehm with all the titles you have read up to now, just that aside they were good (haven't read far into Sun Ken Rock but okay).

That about Magus still has got only a little bit better, now 3 have read it but only 1 up to the 24 chapters there currently are.
I don't really understand why it's still so under the radar even with the high score and like almost 10k members already?
Maybe the theme of books is not appetizing enough?? Anyway it will surely stay as one of my top 6.

As for me, school has started again and I begin to feel the pressure building up, but when I can I still read some manga chapters in the breaks and such.

Oh by the way what did you think of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners? I haven't watched it yet and I don't know if I should xD, have you got something to convince me to binge it?
