Angel Beats has comedy elements for sure in earlier episodes, but it never goes off track from the overall melodramatic and sad tone , much like how ep2 of this serie is done. Ep3~4 just went full comedy/ sol. So even if something shockingly bad / sad happened right after, it'd just feel weird/ out of place. I think this show should follow what Sarazanmai does more. It has a theme for every episodes and although there're some comedy elements, it went back to its intended tone at the end of every episodes. Because of that, the later half revolation fits much better. |

| To be honest, I don't know shit about Mahjong and how it is played. So yeah, this episode was really confusing to me. Still kinda enjoyed it, though. I'm wondering how Hiroto is related to Hina. I think the show will reveal their connection pretty soon. |

Well I somehow can't handle it but my hunch is telling me to keep watching it and in the end it was a really intense Mahjong game Yota just wreaked all of the professional player lol. Too bad for Yota couldn't get the hot seductive woman lol. 13 days left and it's the end of the world. |

| Even by Jun Maeda's standards of slow build-ups, this is starting to get inane and tedious despite the general hilarity of what is going on. The mahjong sequence made very little sense, but I feel like all we needed to understand was that Youta's moves were illegal and sowing chaos, and that much was conveyed well enough at least. Also, what was the point of any of this when Youta just cowers out at the crucial moment again? Another four days closer to the end of the world, and for what? The only vague idea I have for where this show is going in terms of a plot is that Hina is almost certainly the deceased(?) doctor's daughter or some other relation and that will propel that plotline forwards. Other than that, there is no real clues as to where this is going and we're a third of the way there already. Even Charlotte and Angel Beats had distinct indications of where they were going by now, but not this show. |
| I don't know Mahjong, but I found it all comical anyway, probably the merit is of the expressions and movement XD He rejected the woman for his true love, but if he can't even kiss Kyouko, it would be a real disaster. |

| This week's episode is all about... mahjong. God, I feel like I'm watching Sangatsu again (just without all the over-the-top screaming of course) cuz I have no idea how to play the game featured here, so I have no idea what the hell is going on the whole time lol. Definitely a very Japanese-centric episode that won't be able to localized outside of that audience well unless they knew about mahjong beforehand. Oh well, the over-the-top screaming was still entertaining and I love the imagery that goes along every time Yota remembers Hina's advice—some of these sequences looked just plain beautiful, but the best parts were easily the super casual UNO name drops lmao Also, I dunno if it's just me or not, but the commentator with the glasses sounded a little bit like Takamatsu/Takajou... did they get this voice actor for a Key anime again? Hilariously, Funimation translated Ashura's ใใใใฐใใ ("good luck") to "Kick butt." What the hell, who on earth is translating or localizing this over there XDDDD Looks like Yota got to reject someone this time. | I actually really enjoyed this episode. IF UNO ALLOWS IT, THOU MAY DO IT LMAO. I just hope they don't make fun of the ed lol. the reason why I didn't cry at angel beats was because of that chair scene. I couldn't take the ed seriously after that. I have no idea how Jun Maeda did this though. |

| 4 episodes in and I still have no idea what this show is about, what is the point of it all? The episode itself just felt like more nonsense for no reason; why mahjong? why mahjong if the rules don't matter? why turn down the hot mahjong lady? For a world that's ending in 13 days there doesn't seem to be any impetus to do much of anything. Hoping that there is something more substantial to latch on to soon. |

| Actually,I don't know a lot about Japanese Mahjong.But I can guess he has broken the rules in order to get the victory.To be honest,the plot didn't really interest me because it seemed to be a little old and a little bit ordinary.I've seen this kind of jokes in other shows usually. It's just like anime about daily life.I can't see any reaction of the characters to the coming end of world.Really worried about the second half of the anime.If next episodes are also for the joy and humour,there won't be enough length remaining to tell the main story.Most important,there are only 13 days left...So you plan to see the world destroying instead of doing something? Episode last week a hacker who we can't get much information about appeared.He might have a conspiracy.This time he had a short story before the op.I'm always confused that does this anime just tell one story?Plots about the hacker are always terriffying while plots about Hina and Youta are always enjoyable and to my surprise,they don't have any intersection,It seems like there're two different stories in two different worlds.I'll keep on watching that to find the purpose of staffs to make such obscure settings. |

| Being a former devout (not really) mahjong player, I found this episode hilarious beyond compare. I mean, man! An open chitoitsu? A kan made out of individual four winds? INFINITE RIICHI? If Narukami wants to become as original as possible, he should've gone all the way! KOKUSHI MUSOU with simple tiles. RINSHAN KAIHOU but he draws from the discard pile instead. RYUUIISOU but with all red tiles. CHUUREN POUTOU but it's actually eight gates. CHINROUTOU but only simple tiles. |

| I did not understand anything but it was amazing to me! I laughed because i didn't unerstand anything and our guy is just shouting with high charisma and overrated moves. It was a special episode to me idk why but i found it enjoyable. Looking forward to more! |

| I play Mahjong but obviously that's not how to play it lol. He was basically making up his own rules, thus the "freedom". People who give this a low score are probably over-hyping themselves expecting a masterpiece right out the bat. Slice of life and comedy moments are crucial to the feels train that will happen soon. |
