Damn the fight was just amazing! Especially the style change got me! The backstory part was interesting, but nothing exceptional. Overall a great episode! Gosh I'm so twisted about this anime. In the one moment I love it and in the next one I see all of it's huge flaws. Let's just see how the next episodes will go.

Ah there it is the Azure Dragon we missed last time but Mori's got a blue dragon of his own.

I'm sorry Daewi, all your friends are idiots! LOL
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,
Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy.

Episode four was awful, but this episode was okay.

The overall plot and characters are not my cup of tea tho and since the tournament is over, i can peacefully drop this anime.

Nothing to add except the fact that y'all know that the author of the original manhwa himself is working on the script and is part of the team? So yeah, all the pacing problems and other stuff went by him and he knows of them. Is it not gonna stop me from enjoying the show? Not one bit.

THE BEST EPISODE.

I don't even know what to mention here, the whole episode was so great, after seeing all the past story of Daewi I thought he would win, that's what happens in most of the time, and it's rare to see the protagonist win in the first tournament, the flashbacks through the fights were so perfectly placed, on the first minutes of the fight there was no dialogue, just the two of them fighting, but then Jin said that he wouldn't forgive Daewi for what he did to Mira, and we got to see the reason to why Daewi was tryharding and acting like that during the fights, and that was perfectly done in my opinion, well, unfortunately Daewi's friend is dead, rare to see a story that has the balls to kill a character like that, I thought he would recover from that disease, but it looks like this anime isn't cliche, I hope it keeps going like this. Oh, the OST was pretty good too, and the animation was godlike.

And a new character just appeared, I wonder who he is.

So thats why the previous episode feels so shit and give me so much bad taste on my mouth. Its because MAPPA just invested the nicest one on this episode. It served good, to be honestly. Its really perfect, suited well with a beforehand. Well, its not so bad then. I retake my previous mind, its not necessary anymore. Impressive effort for making this episode, i really appreciated that shit.

However, the background of the story felt lack some impression. Jin acted pretty generic, there. I am kinda weird with that expression. A shounen typical always come like that, pretty weird to enjoyed. I may be too cheesy sometime. But, something just felt off, and the last marriage adding more the off-feeling i had. It just felt, like an actual asspull, or a plot devices to lift this episode into more dramatic and too melo. Was my word right? I dunno. The impactful was actually nice, for fuck sake. But still, i kinda dislike so much with the previous episode that bring more of my sceptic way on to this one. Whatever reason behind that scenery, i really appreciated MAPPA effort than the last season shitty sci-fi action with unbearable reference. Good job!

another amazing episode.. couldn't stop tearing up starting from the part of daewi not fighting back after hearing the news.. daewi is my favorite character! incredibly surprised to check out the forum after watching to see people had issues with it, since it was probably my favorite episode so far. excited to see where this goes though, since the 'tournament' is over.. hopefully cult & bad guys stuff soon ♥

With this episode, my hopes for AoT season 4 in the visuals department are super high now
They also have old WIT staff and 2 competent director heading the project with a great musical department as well. The source material is also better and closely under watch by Isayama. Even if it's not a a perfect season finale, it will still be of high quality.

Ah~ Nothing better than forging some unbreakable friendship bonds through beatings. Mori and Daewi must be super friends at this point.

Overall, it was good to see the focus returning to the aspect this show is good at. The fight between Mori and Daewi was pure entertainment material and the way how it was handled was simply outstanding. That brief switch to first-person perspective sure was a cool directing decision and I found the inclusion of the "calligraphy-style" animation rather creative as well.

As for the story execution, it wasn't particularly remarkable but still, I think the studio did a pretty decent job at portraying Daewi's relationship with his dying friend. Not to mention also that the last scene with him leaving that message saying he made two new friends was rather sweet as well as a nice way to give closure to this arc.

So... now that Mori is the one who will go to the tournament. Does this mean both Daewi and Mira will remain on the sidelines from now on?

6/10 episode. Pacing was wack but damn was the final fight awesome. Ending was okay. Cliché to me and the fight ended pretty abruptly.
I’m hoping there is an actual story after now.

GOH is like," This ain't my final form." This was a really good episode and a well balance episode of writing, storytelling, animation, and emotion. This show is good. I'm glad I didn't overhype it like others.
I had to change this because some loser couldn't make an actual argument. So....yeah I hope you guys like the new sig.

I loved this episode. The fight with the calligraphy animation was the best part. I'm re-reading the webtoon from the beginning to refresh my memory and to be honest, I'm not bothered by the changes. If we're lucky this will get a second season but I feel webtoon is going to animate their top webtoon series to promote their app/website and for people to actually read the source material.

It was nice to see a little more of Daewi's backstory, sad to see his friend passed away. The biggest part of this episode was Jin Mori vs. Han Daewi. And boy, did they deliver. The fight between them both was amazing plus it was really hard to guess who would win since both of them, imo, were evenly matched but Jin Mori surprised me with his win. At least they all made up and became friends.

It was an OK episode i.m.o. For me personally it was a bit obvious what was gonna happen. With Han day saying that he doesn't see Mori and the girl as his friends and throughout the fight getting the feeling of them being his friends.

Voice acting and animation were all splendid as expected. Also really liked the flashback part, especially the part where Han dae's friend told him that if he also smiled they would become friends. And than connecting that scene to the one in the actual fight. I Liked that part.

In the end I think I rated this episode 7/10.

Also still curious what that crazy mysterious fruit was...

WOW! This was sooooooooo epic! What a crazy episode!
The camera shots were so good, especially the POV, what a great job they did in this episode! Straight 10/10
And this is only the 5th episode...keep them coming!

I feel bad for Han, having to know that at the worst moment possible. I'm glad he's back!

What an ending scene! Just 10/10

OMG it was so unexpected I never even thought that the MC will win. They did something new I guess, LoL. The animation is good as always. But the plot is pretty generic and kinda shit. 3/10. My previous ranking was 2/10 because of that 4th episode but they did a lil bit good in this one I guess.

A decent episode I would say, at least a lot better than the last one.

Daewi's backstory certainly added more to his character development. Although its execution wasn't exactly flawless, it wasn't bad at all. I felt really sad for Daewi and his friend.

The fight between Jin and Daewi wasn't very entertaining, though. I have no problems with it being too long, but I just didn't enjoy it for some reason. Anyways, let's see what will happen in the next episode.

I agree man, the fight scene after the note got given to Daewi was cancer (no pun intended). Couldnt even tell what was going on. Also like i've said a million times, its kinda weird that they became friends with do development and also i couldnt hate Mira's character design more if i tried. There are so many people saying "whos peeling onions?" I wonder, did they actually cry, for me it wasnt that deep because we havent even been given enough times to care about the characters, literally that guys entire backstory was fit into like 5 minutes..the only time we even saw him is when Daewi was visiting him for like 5-10 seconds.

Out of pure curiosity, I just wonder how many people currently following the anime have read the original webtoon. I've read what I would be considered the main story? Since from when I last checked (which was long ago) I think the sequel series to this current plot the anime follows was still ongoing. But then again I read the webtoon almost two to three years back, so to be honest I don't remember the story all too well. But seeing all the characters again is pretty nostalgic. The Commissioners (which I forgot they were called that) look super cool in their suits hehe.
