Speaking of murder. Will they ever get back to that case of murdering a sheep boy from 1st episode? Or has it just been forgotten for good?
I mean, there's still a murderer somewhere at school and logically there can be more murders to just leave it be

If this were to get 24 episode it'll be explained. I doubt they will go past 13 episodes though sadly.

The world between herbivores and carnivores only get worse...in school too, where external worldly cases profound the bullying between both sides.

Man, Juno the gray wolf sure is cute...but in the face of Legosi, he's having the same thoughts as when he's with Haru.

Touching on the outside world, that's where Beastars bare its TRUE fangs in a psychological way, and it shows with Legosi and the carnivore drama club gang wandering into the Black Market without full conscience. The atmosphere sure is heavy...with Legosi always ready to avert and escape but with blood seeping into his senses.

Getting kidnapped as means of escape from the Black Market boss-cum-psychotherapist isn't good...but he's lenient enough to understand Legosi's repulsive reaction and all, coming from the same mindset as him: ABANDONING THE BEAST WITHIN.

But I've gotta say, the Legosi IN school and the Legosi OUTSIDE school may be the same, but of different intellects. The world can turn easily upside down and activate instinct within the blink of an eye.

In a nutshell, failure to keep yourself in check will 99% lead to acting on instinct and reaping the consequences, certainly Legosi is learning more about being one-sided and the uncertainty of his actions.

"We couldn't look much more different." lmao. Juno seems cute.
When that guy offered his finger, I wasn't expecting that.
Gouhin is an interesting character.
Good at least Aoba supports Legoshi. Nice bromance moment they got.

So I have read most of the manga now which is something I never do, I'm a anime weeb through and through.

No spoilers except I will say anyone who thinks this is a generic high school story with animals is very wrong, just wait.

Depending on the number of eps the killer might not be covered. But there is a clue about their identity thrown in this ep (pay attention to the outline in ep 1).

Well, good news. Just checked some spoilers and seems that the next arc is going to be about this murder investigation. Also it's a relief that culprit is not from the actual staff but new to be introduced

Honestly, I would've love to see Gouhin being a bit more pissed off at Legoshi by the end. (At least, he was in the manga)

Honestly, the back alley market is such an iconic scene in the manga that I think it's impossible to get the same feeling I had the first time I saw the old Jiji half-eaten fingers taunting Legoshi to take a bite. I loved that smoke effect though, a nice way to "censor" some elements, which also represents the temptation (odours) getting into his sensors.

Must be tough feeling that way, makes me even more glad that I'm simply human !

the man selling his fingers to carnivores :( sad

i love the doctor panda, he's so buff haha. and it's interesting how he went into addiction and the effects.

now i question legosi's affection for haru. is it love or is it misplaced? tbh, it can be both at the same time i think..

This episode is a proof that this anime is really special and serious about its plot. No naiveness, no "furry perverted scenes", just interesting concept and mature plot. Bravo!

I liked how this panda doctor was somehow a referrence to volunteers trying to help drug addicts in real life. With that difference that he helped carnivores with their lust for meat.

Meat eating is basically compared to hard drugs abuse... ok...
Guy trying to sell his fingers was creepy.

Legoshi having moment of doubt when explained that he may confuse his predatory cravings with love was interesting. Noticing the difference between love and lust is not always easy...

Actually, the latest arcs of the manga takes place completely outside of the school, but that probably won't be seen on the anime until a possible Season 3.
Only the 1st season is more focused on slice of life/school stuff, 2nd season will be more focused on mystery/psychological stuff but still featuring the school setting, and like I said the 3rd one will drop the school setting completely. All of this taking into account the manga's arcs.

Okay, Worldbuilding here is superb. This perfectly made city isn't so perfect after all.

It seems like herbivores can just sell their body parts if they ever in need of come cash. That grounds this world so much.

And Bill... eew, those Ojiisan's fingers doesn't look very healthy. Man, have some taste. As one meat-eater to another.

Panda guy will probobly become my favorite. Guy just made of pure badass. Reminds me of Pastor from Serenity a little.

lol the tiger sex story seems pretty in character for him and I guess you cant hide being a virgin in this school. It was nice to see the city after being the school for a bit. Well I guess the black market is not as shady as the name makes it sound since its basically dead meat. Though I wonder if the person who does writes off on this or do they just steal the bodies. Also thats some crazy wall of shame. This is one hell of a doctor hes super strong and his medicine is porn. If you get hard then its ok and you just got a certain kink.

Red wolf girl? Nice addition to the show!

It seems the outside world play some contrast situations describing how the relations between the carnivore and herbivore had some darkness spot, among them. Its a black market, provide some illegal meat to bloodlust carnivore who can't defend their instinct. Legosi, once again, try hard surpressing his true meaningful lust. The young age of animal thought make him confussion felt natural, yet weird in the same place. And a biassed mind from the Panda doctor, stating the herbivore as his pray or truly beloved had a great impact for my initial thought. Legosi's contradiction instinct play such a nice scenery for this episode. Making the confussion among the Legosi's body felt good for the development of his character come so fast. Its make me wonder next, how long can he defend that inner system, while everything gone wrong on his side? Next episode must be some refreshment!

My god! What a great episode! The panda character (have we seen his name yet??) seems like a nice guy, he's just trying to help :). I'm glad Legosi was able to get to Aoba, I wonder what Bill's gonna be like after he ate the old man's finger (if he did at all). Overall, a great episode, as always!

The more I watch this, the more emotionally heavy it feels. This society is fucked up big time and it's so heartbreaking to see Legoshi's values and morals being challenged at every turn. I almost cried watching this episode; he's at that horrible age where he realises that becoming an adult doesn't fix your problems and that's a really hard lesson to learn.

Heyy, Introduction to Best Girl Juno???

We see the world outside the school, and also the Black Market

I really like how they show us the inner struggle in Legoshi mind in this episode...

I didn't expect Panda Voice has same VA as Thorkell from Vinland Saga, i think his voice is fit well...

In the end Aoba was right, it's like eating your friends...

This season of Beastars is just so great, and this episode was one of the best when it comes to its psychological and characterization aspects, especially surrounding Legoshi's character and the conflict of being a carnivore with a herbivore's heart outside in the real world where there isn't the same kind of barrier that is present in their school. His conversation with the ripped ass panda doctor was interesting as the panda questions Legoshi and asks him if his feelings and thoughts for Haru are purely love now or are the predatory instincts still there underneath like how he tried to consume Haru, and that he's just using his opportunities to talk to her to strike her down when she's closer to him.

It's a good question of his real instincts and what Legoshi truly desires with someone like Haru and also does question how much longer can he continue with the pacifistic nature and not give in to the temptations of fresh blood and meat from herbivores or maybe even other carnivores/his own kind like how some creatures had to do in the past like eat their own flesh to keep themselves satisfied hunger wise.

Loved this episode. Things have finally taken a real dark turn with herbivore meat being sold in the Black Market.(Doesn't matter if it comes from funeral homes or hospitals it's still VERY fucked up)

Legoshi's internal battle just got even more difficult. Even I'm confused about whether his feelings for Haru are real or if it's just carnivorous desire. Gohin's a cool character. I actually thought that he put the muzzle on Legoshi beacuse his previous patients had attacked him but he had been attacked multiple times even before becoming a psychotherapist. Juno's pretty cute and a clear love interest.
