| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Abou time we're getting a background story episode focused on Hiro. Seems the half way point of the show is a good place for it too. The past life of Zero Two is quite harsh and lonely tbh. The only thing keeping her going is herself in that world. We got a bit of Hiro and Ichigo's past too. The most noticable part is that he did encounter Zero Two in the past before. Good God, she looked terrible back then and got treated like an experiment. However, after meeting Hiro, the two began to get along and it felt like Zero Two's dark life got brighter. An entire episode of background storytelling. Lol, that feeding scene is adorable. |

| Finally we know how Hiro became the darling. I like explanatory episodes. (As far as I know, episode 4 of "Shinsekai yori" is the best.) |
| Now it's time. Hiro knows now for sure that APE are god damn monsters. He & Zero Two will now have to bring the rest of the team on their side and then it's time for a Rebellion and the eventual escape. The Nines will most likely hunt them down. Not sure about Dr.FranXX being their ally anymore though after all that torture he put 02 through. |

Not only for the two of them but I have noticed how the other members of Team 13 had been having doubts of how the world works and going through constant changes. Those episodes in between served their purpose. 556 for instance has found out instinctively the desire to make baby with someone she would love after finding that book. 666 is another example who has finally moved on from his fixation of admiring the Adults after having spent time with that elderly. And they have been very trusting of 016 with all the recent episodes. 056 has awakened the feeling of love which is forbidden just by seeing 016 and 015. 196 knows the Adults have created a world that would never allow any pairing other than male-female. 326 went through hell and came back only to find 016 forgot about their promise not knowing 016 was actually had his memory erased. 015, who has always prioritized 016, however, notice how she has been saying things like 002 is the one who is best for 016, that she believes in 002, that she considers 002 as their comrade and would fight with her. I am sure most of them, if not all of them will side with 016 and 002 if they plan to take on this horrible world made by those Papa people. |

| I enjoyed this episode, but I got the feeling that Dr. FranXX will end up being a good guy. I was hoping to see Hiro with horns and blue skin, but after that scence where the blue hand patted Zero Two I can very much confirm that most of the theories are getting real. |

| Hmm so Hiro and Zero actually met already when they were little and living at the garden. Its interesting in just how similar Zero and Hiro's origins were. Its cute in how Hiro and Ichigo met and how the names started. Papa only saw the children as test subjects i guess no more no less. Hiro sure was bold in deciding to rescue Zero to find the answers. I guess education wasn't judged to be needed for Zero then. An interesting episode that showed the surprising past that Hiro and Zero shared. It was cute seeing the interactions that they had. Im glad that Hiro remembered Zero but i wonder will she do as well. Truly this is a destined reunion. The decision to use the picture book as the ending was a good one. |

| Definitely the strongest episode till date. Lot of insight into Zero Two's and Hiro's past and that is exactly what I wanted to learn. Holy Shit! Those experiments on Zero Two, god I felt so sad for her. To endure all that as a kid, that was just harsh and brutal beyond words. :( I wonder what happened to the person that originally cared for Zero Two and gave her that book. Anyway, I'm glad that both Hiro and Zero Two finally reunited/realized that they knew each other from the past. :) I'm assuming it's that shot in the head that caused Hiro's change in demeanor from being lively to sulky. Wonder how things will progress from here. |

| Ok seriously, this was terrific! Ichigo has officially lost to Zero Two The episode was beautiful, it was really hard to watch those pesky humans torture Zero two like that, curse papa or whoever he is. Child Hiro is the best Hiro, seriously where did you go wrong? The ending scene was beautiful with both Hiro and Zero Two with tears in their eyes. 5/5 easily the best episode so far |

Oh my god, Darling in the FranXX was able to deliver a good episode. The flashback was better than everything the anime had showed up until now. Zero Two as a kid was way more likeable (adorbssss!), and she and Hiro made such a cute couple. Thank you, now I can ship them. Also, it was Hiro who gave Zero Two her name. Adorable.  |

| Wow this episode is everything I wanted it to be from the setup from last week. Now that the pieces are set and characters developed, I hope the main arc/plot won't disappoint, so excited to see Zero Two's reaction next week. |

| This was a great backstory episode, as we got to see how Hiro and 02 first met. Seeing the bond they created as children was really heartwarming, but unfortunately that was short-lived. Thankfully Hiro remembered at the end though. I'm interested in seeing where the show goes from here and how Hiro and 02's relationship will evolve. |

Fuck. And her smile as a onichild, FUCKIN ADORABLE MAAAAAAAAAAAAN. And about her "mother", I think I got it. I suppose u all know the book about the red oni and the blue oni. The red sacrifices himself to let the blue one go out from their mountain. This was the same, cause, we can see in one scene that mother's hand are similar than 002's hand, but in blue. That could be the same but reverse, blue oni (I suppose the "other monster-human" they had, sacrificed herserlf knowing that if she showed her something about the world, she'd be killed, and knowing that, she still wanted to help 002 to scape from there, to have a better life. | Ah, that was so good, it's been a while since I enjoyed an episode of this anime so much. I really liked how this episode slowly revealed their past, the ending song made it all the better. Little red Zero Two was so freaking adorable omg!! Can't wait for the next episode! Also, the story of the Beast and the Prince was so sad :/ |
