| I thought that this episode was good. I think that it's really unfortunate how Watashi suffers in the movie club. Last episode it was tennis, and now it's movies, and it's clear that it's not the people around him who are just bad. It's something about watashi, wherever he goes, he gets bullied. and that's not to say that there's some character flaw in him. I believe it's just some unfortunate like perhaps there’s a disability he has or something that is just making him a sore thumb that sticks out where people just really want to bully him and him in particular. Now, there's this Jougasaki who we saw the last episode, pushing Ozu off of the bridge. And this Jougasaki guy clearly does not suffer from the same kind of disability perhaps that Watashi has. This Jougasaki guy just has a natural charisma that he exploits for all of its worth and it seems that the main character has a sense of justice where he sees what Jougasaki is doing, and has a strong desire to right the wrongs and switch the DVD with his exposing DVD, that shows the whole school what kind of person Jougasaki really is. It's deserved, but it's also stupid because it's 100% just gonna result in hot water, but that's just the kind of person he is and I don't think there's really anything wrong with it. By the way, last episode, I was hinting at that the question of what is wrong with Watashi. There must be something, right? There must be something, because you can't really have an anime where the main character has no flaws that need fixing. Well, the flaw that needs fixing seems to me to be his regrets. He has regrets of how he's spending his tim but he shouldn't because he is doing what he needs to do, which is going outside talking to people. If he were a shut in then 100%, it would make sense for him to have regrets. But in the life that he lives, holding on to regrets is irrational. Even if it's very miserable, it's better than just staying inside all day lonely. Ozu was very useful this episode. He's a trickster. He's a mastermind. He's a genius. He's a fairly smart guy and a pleasure to be friends with, although there are times it must be very annoying as we can see, Watashi is very annoyed at him many points. It's also important to mention that Akashi just seems to have the main characters’ back. She comes in and tells the main character those guys are looking for you, you better get a move on. So she's really useful for some reason. She friends with her main character that doesn't mean that they have a chemistry or that she is attracted to him, but at the very least, she considers him a friend who she would help out in the time of time, which is great. It seems the main character really has two friends. I'm sure that Watashi’s college experience is bad, but it's but at least it's better than just staying inside for his whole college career and the main character has some some talent in making movies. He really worked hard. He has a good work ethic and he clearly got skilled enough to be able to create that really good piece of libel that brought that movie that convinced the whole school that Jougasaki was awful. That couldn't have taken an easy amount of time must've been a lot of hard work. Also, the main character is also clearly friends with the egg plant chin guy because the eggplant chin guy decided to help the main character with the movie. So it seems that he really does have a good group of friends who help him, even if his life really frickin' sucks. I feel like this anime is meant to speak to outcasts and it does a great job at showing outcasts that yeah, your life fucking sucks, but there's value still in it. Just take the consolation prize, you know? I feel like it's hopeful in a way, watching this anime. It brings hope to you, but it also brings despair because it shows that no matter what Watashi does, he's gonna end up coming back to the same point and suffering again and again which is very sad, but at least the suffering is better than nothing. The suffering is better than the loneliness. Watashi, in a way, enjoys his experiences in the movie club even though it's very bad in a lot of other ways. Would I say that this experience in that movie club is better than the tennis club, well, probably it depends, I guess. I think it can go either way. Some would say that he was probably happier in the tennis club, because it seems that he just didn't have as much work to do. You know, he went in that tennis club and then he decided to become a black cupid. But in this timeline, he doesn't become a black cupid and it seems that he's a lot busier in this timeline. So I would probably say he was happier in the first timeline, maybe, but regardless, this episode was great. I had a lot of fun and I'm excited to rewatch more. |
