| SO many people disliking the cg and the overall animal versions of the characters is so disappointing and so much lack of knowledge that sb69 is a mobile game(and a fantastic one at that) going around. I think the cg is fitting for those types of scenes. The game is full of amazing music and amusing characters. I suggest to those who found sb69a horrible to try the game then go back and watch the anime once you are more familiar with the series. |
| I had heard that it would be a weird show, but it was still great! The animation looks nice, and Cyan was adorable in all three of her forms. I quite like the CG for this series, it looks very clean and makes them look kind of like claymation, I can understand if not everyone likes it though. When I first heard there was an anime coming that featured a loli, moe, gothic lolita, cat girl with thigh highs who plays in a band of other animal girls, I was already sold on the series. But, then BONES is doing it? That pumped me up even higher and confirmed that I would definitely watch it, and it isn't letting me down. Although I like the CG I hope the next episode is more focused on the characters in their regular forms, with the CG bit not taking up as large a part of the episode. Definitely looking forward to more!! |
| What a strange mix of awesome and terrible. At first it was shaping up to be a nice cute school band anime... piggy fangirls? (pretty accurate representation if I do say so) The animal music world would be tolerable if not for the awkward mouth-less CG version. I really enjoyed the episode. That CG was just so distracting and cringe worthy. And of course the nerdy main girl has to be an adorable kitten!  I don't know if I'm going to love this or hate it. |

| Love both the 2D and the 3D animation. I went in blind and it was completely unexpected. The 3D stuff is adorable and so much more expressive than what I expect from normal anime. Both the styles aren't exactly merged, but instead have a distinct place in the anime. I'm excited. |
| I have a quick headcanon to why this anime needs that 3DCG, because hell I honestly do not mind! I'm pretty open to any medium in a "anime". |

| I'm loving reading the comments on this anime. Seems like you either hate its guts for the CGI or love it for how ridiculous and cute it is. I, for one, have fallen into the latter and I'm ready to see what this show has to offer. XD |

| The CG is really great that when it switched back to 2D I felt like I was slapped awake from a dream. As a video gamer, seeing a fluid CG animation is really important. This one was done well, even the 3D models look good (not so much for design though, especially others) to the point that I would play this is a game. I would only complain that not all models were designed well. The leader of crimsonz look really simple for example. Not having a mouth can be fixed by good facial expression on the eyes, and they did well there. I was not interested in "moe" that most people who like anime do (tbh though, i still don't exactly umderstand moe), however I would say that 3D Cyan is so fucking adorable that she might be the first figurine I would buy and put on display. And I never bought anything for display, even posters of a videogame. |

It is a game, this anime is an adaptation of a mobile rhythm game made by Sanrio. However, there's no CG in the game, just 2D artwork, like my avatar for example, is a card in the game. |

| Wow what did I just--seriously what was that??? I had hopes that this would be the dark horse of the season but this just blew my mind past the sound cosmos and beyond. Lots of music anime this season, but this one is going to probably remain the biggest surprise of the spring. That masochist egg was probably more bizarre than the CGI performance/battle though. |

| Watched the first 5 episodes like 3 times now, love this anime. I love the CGI parts, I don't understand why people hate it so much, read through this thread and nobody (might have missed a post or two) stated why they hated it, just that they hated it lol. The characters are awesome (Cyan<3 and someone else that I'm not gonna mention in the ep1 discussion xP). If I had to put a finger on why I love the CGI it would be, cute design and not badly done for once. (Laggy crap like Aikatsu) Just got on MAL as I wanted to see the terrible reviews and score the anime recieved because god forbid an anime to be different from the rest of the pack (K-ON Trash, Love Live which was decent among the other bazillion Idol centered animes). /inb4 hate for calling k-on trash~ |

| Never played the game but this pilot episode was amazing. A breath of fresh air. The animation was amazing. Everything was FUN. I don't know where the hate for CG comes from, it's one of the most fluid CG for anime I have seen lately. Very underrated. |

It's very fun and gets challenging as you go on. It's a grind fest though, you need to dedicate a lot of time to it. Hence why it's the only game I've been playing a lot of recently. Those weeklong events man... And yes, the anime's CG is very well-made. Good job, GOONEYS. I do think 12 is too short for an anime with this many characters though, 20-something would have been better but oh well. |

| I decided to watch this because I'm done with finals. The episode's opening reminded me of k-on (I just started episode 2 and the opening changed, which is nice). I was really thrown off by the CG though but after a while I got used to it. It's definitely a quirky anime but so far I really like the characters. I think their animal forms are kinda cute and they reminded me of animal crossing and also hamtaro (?!). So far Shuzo is my fave, but that's a given since he's a fox and is voice by Mamoru. ヾ(*´∀｀*)ﾉ The endless limo scene was really funny too xD The main girl's interesting too even though she looks like the typical nekomimi maid, so hopefully her personality will shine through! |

| Oh yeesh, this episode was quite bizarre. But I honestly really enjoyed it. XD The pig fangirls, the run-down car, the fangirls running after the giant limo, President Maple. I'm dubbing this K-On on crack for now, and excited to see what this show has to offer. |
| There is something that confused me. At the end of the intro where it says the copyright date is 2012. I thought this was a new anime from Spring 2015. Am I wrong? |

The anime is new, but Sanrio copyrighted the franchise in 2012, and the game the anime is an adaption of came out in 2013. |

| I don't understand why so many people here are complaining about the Myumon CGI. From what I see these are perfectly done, and Cyan-chan's Myumon form is really too cute. |

I actually wonder why they made the decision to make them human the majority of the time, when they're in myumon form at all times in the game, the human forms are just on UR cards. Then again, AU and all that. Their human forms are cool though, so I can't complain too much. Just a strange decision to me. Plus the CG's quality is leagues better than CG in most anime, the CG in SB69A is so fluid and well-made. |

| As a start I would not say you could scream to the miracle, the plot seems like a déjà vu seen in many other TV series, perhaps what is striking is the soundtrack and the play view throughout the narrative. Characters fairly characterized both graphically and temperamentally. Drawings and animations of good quality, yet is pleasing his vision. |

| Well this was quite different than what I was expecting, not too shabby and the CGI actually fits quite well as it has an unique art style and doesn't try to imitate 2D drawn art! |

I'm kinda OCD about this because I've had too many experiences where I watch an anime and it looks nice and clean...only for there to be pointless panty shots and boob touching that completely turn me off forever. I prefer to know in advance so that way it doesn't happen again. |
| ....That was the single most confusing first episode I've seen yet. Or episode at all, really. Seems like this will have fanservice (WHY, I don't know, would a guy really watch something this girly-looking?), so that's a turn-off for me... but maybe I'll try to stick around if the blond guy returns? The boy band at the end seems... weird... But nothing is as weird as that talking egg. :T Also, not a fan of the 3D chibis-animals, but IDK. |
| Surprised to see this is well-liked by most, except for the CGI. I thought it was really boring and feel like I have seen something like this in many other anime. It even failed to create something of its own using tropes that many anime have used. The comedy didn't deliver at all. |

| LOL I didn't even read the synopsis before watching this, was completely not expecting...well...everything Seems like this could be entertaining but I hope there isn't too much of the CGI. CGI just never looks as good as 2D animation |

| The first episode was great and unexpected. I love both 3D and 2D design of this series. My favorite character is Cyan . It would fit with my username to use her as MAL Avatar :P |

| If the intent was to create a vibrantly colorful world with equally colorful characters singing in ridiculously flashy performances with a super quirky backdrop of saving the Earth/galaxy/universe/etc through music, I suppose the mission was accomplished...? Granted, it's been a while since I've watched an anime this excited about merely existing, so it's more so up to me to adjust. |
| I think a lot of the reactions in this thread prove just how automatically averted to CGI anime fans seem to be without actually differentiating good CGI from bad CGI. Like it's one thing if you don't like the designs of the characters in these scenes, or don't like when an anime will switches between 2D and 3D animations. However the actual quality of the CGI scenes in this anime are absolutely phenomenal! Motions are very fluid and natural, it doesn't have that cheap plastic looking texture to it, and despite not even having mouths they still manage to be very expressive. As of posting this I've still only seen the first episode, so I can't comment on the shows quality overall of course, but assuming the quality of CGI remains the same, this show deserves at least some kind of recognition for having outstanding CGI compared to a lot of other anime out there, instead of just being lumped up with the rest of the anime that get the "Ugh, gross! CGI!" treatment. |
