| The FFXI MMORPG arc is the part of NHK I can relate to the best. When you're a loser with no friends, no lover and no future, it's easy to lose yourself in virtual reality. Unlike in the land of the real, you can be somebody worth knowing with much greater ease, and cat girls waltzing around makes it surprisngly easy to chase after tail and forget real females. The problem is, eventually - if you're in a similar situation to Satou - you end up totally distanced from reality and in 'love' with a cat girl who's really guy, having a laugh at your expense. Reality hits home far too late, and it hurts when it does finally strike. The lesson here is simple: if you have too much free time, hate yourself/life and become obsessed easily, STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM MMORPGS! As funny as NHK's depiction was, it was so funny because it's so true--like NHK's humour in general. The 50-year-old image of Satou was disturbing more than just because fat people look disgusting. Yamazaki showed tough love to Satou by having him learn the truth about cat girls early. My respect for Yamazaki went through the roof when re-watching the series because of moments like the laptop reveal. He was a true friend. |
| Wow, that was really good episode. I was cheering when he thought he found his friends and stuff ... that dragon slaying was pretty epic though. Ah, wow, Yamazaki was Mia ... dun dun dun! True what he says though, anyone could be anyone :P The part with "30 years later" ... that was hard to watch X_X So very true and sad though ... thank you, Yamazaki, for preventing that from happening to Satou D; Hmm, wonder about the class president though? I wonder what she's got in store for him ... o_O Lol how the heck does Misaki still fit into her junior high uniform? That's like grade 9! XD ... Although I guess it IS possible ... o_O |

| Oh, Yamazaki, too awesome, although it kind of hurts to know he did that for his own selfish purposes (to finish his game) rather than to genuinely help Satou out. SpudUK said: I really didn't like the way they set this out. It gives people the impression that they WILL end up like Satou did if they play it, which is extremely incorrect. As long as you take it in moderation, it can be extremely fun and still give you your personal life. The styling that this did of online gaming annoyed me. The parody itself though wasn't bad. You'd be surprised how many people fall through the gaps. As many have already pointed out, this episode was sort of depressing, especially if you're experienced what Satou has gone through or know someone who has. |

| Haha, now that's the reaction I've been waiting for. However sad it may have been, it was still priceless. Misaki was pretty cute trying to help in her own way :D Too bad it was Yamazaki who got him out :/ I hope this new girl won't suck like Hitomi. I really wish it was just Satou and Misaki (+ Yamazaki). |

Dear god, even if the production value is low at least make it consistent. I mean I can watch things from the 80s no problem if it's consistent but that episode when Sato and Yamazaki were going around town getting merchandise (maybe episode 4-ish) that made me want to gouge my eyes out. It really is a shame though because the whole idea of the show had and still has, to a degree, a great deal of potential. I'll probably check out the manga soon. I blame Gonzo for my anger. |

| Oh hell, this episode was very strong. Maybe I'm just repeating what lots of you have already said, but: thanks God I don't play any MMORPG. And no, that's not just a fictional thing... people really reach that horrible level! Aside from that, as lots of you have already said (again!?), I thought Mia was a guy, but not that she was Yamazaki. He's an epic character, but more than anything else, he's a friend, because he dedicated a great amount of time just to teach Sato the hard lesson. And I don't care about Sato's situation, I'm just hating him because he's not able to see the great friends he has. He could have lots of friends experiences with Yamazaki, and damn, Misaki is trying to help him IN EVERY DAMN WAY. You can think everything is bad and blah blah stuff, but Misaki is actually doing everything on order to save you. I'm reaching the top of the thing; you CAN'T ignore a girl who already saved you a bunch of times (damn, she saved his life in the previous episodes, THAT should be the real twist, not a MMORPG), and who declared you to be the one who was looking for, and is still trying everything. From this point of view, the thing has got a bit unrealistic. The MMORPG thing itself is obviously realistic, but Sato totally ignoring the interactions he previously had with Misaki and Yamazaki isn't. I seriously hope things are going to change VERY fast, without a group of just-situations that happen because... because. (and hey. A gentle girl is dressing as a cat for you. GET UP FROM THAT DAMN CHAIR AND DO SOMETHING SDKJHFSDKJSDFK) |
| I don't know if Yamazaki did the right thing to help him. But he sure have served him a good dose of reality! I laughed at Misaki imagination xD It was kinda sad when he rejected her though. I wonder what will happen with that president. What will she make him do? A rehab session? Will he join a sect?? :P |

| GIRL: Guy In Real Life lol, geez man Satou doesn't deserve Misaki. That's the only thing bothering me with this story. How unrealistic it is that a gorgeous girl wants to save him and keeps trying despite all that's happened. I hope Satou's karma gets back at him hard. |

| Wow what an amazing episode. I was worried for the show for a while, but the revelation that Yamazaki was the online girl is hilarious. People genderbend all the time in MMORPGs. I know I have before, if only to avoid the numerous "slut" and "i'll rape you" comments if you're a girl who beats a male character. Sato needed the reality check badly. |

| Yamazaki's really an expert to facade as the exact type of girl Satou would like. The use of reverse psychology against Satou was a tad bit too effective though. How cute to see Misaki-chan going to the extreme for Satou. |

| oh my fkn goodness lmfao. This episode so much made for all of the comedy being pushed up for the intense drama the last few episodes. I'm so dead. Satou cussing out Misaki was gold. Yamazaki's troll was gold. Everything was gold. Best part is NHK retained its social commentary and satire of real world things in the process. NHK's humor is very elaborate. It's funny how Satou has people around him who genuinely care for him and doesn't realize. While Satou was no-lifing ULTIMATE FANTASY for God knows how long, Yamazaki was right there with him, playing the entire time, just to try to teach him a lesson. How many friends would do that for you? Well, I'm not sure if Yamazaki actually did him any favors lmfao. And Misaki is clearly going far out of her comfort zone for him, too... even though she's pretty fucked up herself it seems. vytah said: Satou attacking Yamazaki with a chair reminded me of this guy: Piotrek's mother was affraid and she turned his computer off. Remember, guys, there ain't nothing wrong with MMORPGs. Just don't be obsessed. It's like that with anything; no need to demonize a medium because it can be addictive, because anime is just as addictive for many of you people. |

| This episode was the saddest to me. It really hit home. I play a lot of mmo. Thankfully I'm not addicted to it, but because I have Asperger's and have a fear of socialization, sometimes I wish I could just stay inside and play video games all day. So I really felt for Satou in this one. |

Love triangle has lost a vertex, it is now back to just Satou and Misaki From the preview that played last episode, I thought Misaki would begin playing the game to get Satou back from Mia with an avatar wearing the apron. At first I thought the little green haired dude was the kid from whom Satou learned the game from. So it is the brother of one of his classmates that dyed her hair...now we know who the last main character is; Satou, Misaki, Yamazaki, his senpai and now class rep Kobayashi. Are we back to a love triangle? |
