| We got some backstory on Leorio and Kurapika in this episode. I can't even imagine how it is to run for 6 hours and then climb a thousand stairs without even a minute of rest. |

| I felt so bad for the guy who nearly got to the top but the door closed on him :( I was pretty sure the other "examiner" wasn't the real deal, it seemed way too obvious so soon in the series. Gon and Killua look like they're becoming great friends already! |

| Distance they covered during that run was much longer than a marathon, while going at a fast pace the whole ime with lots of steps and inclines. AND They're still going once they get out. These dudes have some stupidly high endurance , even Gon and Killula don't seem to be the least bit tired. I mean its given we know almost nothing about them but still interesting that have such a killer level of endurance like that. I'm suprised so few of the contestants dropped out from that run it looked like way more than that for some reason. LOL at that laptop dude how the fuck do you show up fat + out of shape for the hunter exam? Even if he thought he had the right info that doesn't mean the examiners couldn't change things up from session to session. Swamp run looks like it should be entertaining. |

| This version is good, but the original Hunter x Hunter is still superior. It was more faithful to the manga and didn't cut so much stuff out. If you never watched the original, I strongly recommend it. |

If you never watched the original, I strongly recommend it. How is the 1999 series more faithful when it has filler and the 2011 series doesn't? Cut stuff out, do you mean the filler? The 2011 series is faster and its for the better. (Well excluding those two recap episodes which thankfully they stopped doing early in the show) I recommend the 1999 version as well, especially for those that like cel animation and great music but I really find the 2011 series a better written show that is more consistent in its quality. Not to mention it adapted much more of the manga. |
| Best one so far! I love the angle it's heading in, where (hopefully) the characters will have to rely more on their wits and decision making than just brute force like most shonen. Obviously there should still be a good mix of action though, in due time ^_^ |

| Damn, I can't stop comparing HxH 2011 with HxH 1999... The difference is now a major thing! For those who've watched HxH 1999. Remember the hallucination traps? They were not included in this version. Was it because that scene was too emotionally disturbing and darker to be shown here? I don't know... I was hoping how they would adapt that scene in HxH 2011... Still... The quality and pacing are better at least. Leoriro's facial reactions are hilarious! |

| So casual murder / attempted murder is fine, too? This world is insane. Nonetheless, I still enjoy this exam arc, even if the exposition in this episode was a little bit lazy. It's fun to watch and at least the characters are very likeable. |
| I am enjoying this version a little bit more each week. But I am still not sure about Hisoka's bgm. xD I didn't think it was possible but it seems like Gon became more innocent than ever. ^-^ Can't wait to see Menchi and Buhara! |

| Well if there was one thing I always like about HxH was the pacing and they do an even better job here! Looking forwards to see what's next even though I pretty much know what's going to go down. |

| Having to run a full 100 kilometers in a dark tunnel just to reach the second half of the first test is insane and the grace period before the shutters closed being a mere two minutes made it even more intimidating. While it's great to see the capable ones pass, I can only imagine how much despair the ones who didn't make it felt, especially the guy who was mere inches from getting to the goal. If they didn't kill themselves out of the frustration, the 100 kilometer run back to the entrance most likely will. The second half is twice as dangerous and challenging though so it's best that they were spared from getting lost and eaten alive. Killua and Gon became best buddies and Leorio and Kurapika got to know each other more, with the former revealing that he's still a teenager! While Kura's backstory about his clan getting poached for their eyes was tragic, Leo's backstory was the real tearjerker. Hisoka verifying the examiner's identity was awesome! |
