It's funny how Konoha tries to adapt to this new timeline without the technology from the future, or otherwise, the previous timeline she came from.

On the other hand, I like her enthuaism and self motivation. I do like how well she gets along with others. One positive part about Konoha is that she is able to make friends with others easily.

I find this anime very interesting and cute. Nice animation, story..
If Konoha's tablet, he had a cold, that's why her went back, so it became a place where he could make friends. And finally, again in the future. That's why I'm even more interested in what happens next :D 💕

Well tablet and phone not working still even showing those things in that time period should stand out since there was nothing like it even if they didn't work.
Another thing that should be said is the computers from back then where a pain to use to OS looked more like MS DOS and you have to type pretty much everything they where slow and rather limited in what they could actually do.
Still it's nice to see some of the techniques from that era.

Really nice episode, felt bad seeing Konoha not being able to use her tablet to show her Drawings but at least she was able to use the old computers to help them finish the game

15 colors look real because human visual system's lower acuity for color differences than for luminance (and that is the fact that chroma subsampling is taking advantage of).

Konoha, Shy and the Hoshizuku telepath MC are definitely the cutest new MCs this season.

Another really fun episode. Konoha has already become a part of Mamoru and others’ group and is having a big impact. They might be a small company at the bottom of the software development world, but what they lack in reputation, they make up for in heart.

It’s really cool to see how games were made back then. So much hard work having to hand draw, scan and then colour and adjust using a mouse. Puts all those classic visual novels from back in the day into perspective. It’s funny that games nowadays are easier to make but lack the quality and charm of those.

Wow, that’s a cool post credits scene. So Konoha can do a little Tokyo Revengers style hopping between timelines? That’s neat and adds something interesting to the story. Looking forward to seeing where this goes

I expected Konoha to surprise everyone with her modern techniques, but seeing her learn how people drew stuff in the past was very cool too, must have taken a lot of time back then using a mouse to draw everything. Konoha's passion for bishoujo games might be just what AlcoholSoft needed to keep Mamoru around, and also help the company stay afloat. Seems like Konoha might go back and forth between time periods, which could be interesting, we'll see what they do with that.

Did not see that twist coming...

Now I wonder where it'll go from here, though. Back to 1992? Or through the different eras based on the games in her bag? Or meeting the gang in the current time?

Easily AOTS. I don't even know when these 20 minutes passed. ED song stated playing just after few minutes. At least it felt like this.

Anyway, when I discovered PC98 visual novels I was shocked too that 16 color art can look this insanely good. Kono Yo no Hate de koi o utau shoujo YU-NO (my favorite VN and generally my favorite story ever) had phenomenal art quality.
Dub = fake crap. Always.

A very logical reaction when you find you're that far back in time. I guess in that situation its not easy figuring who to turn to for help. Transferring data via floppies though wow haven't seen a floppy in years. Despite how tough things are its nice to see Konoha bond so readily with Meiko and Kaoru. The elation that one gets when a project is finally complete is always such a wonderful exp. Overall a fun little ep that did well in showing both how Konoha's skills are worthless here as well as how much work she needs to put in to earn a place to stay and work at. Nice intro to the staff at Alcoholsoft as well too. Curious though at that last scene though.

I liked how they show the ways of producing video games in the 90s and how despite having current knowledge it is not very useful._.

The ending left me intrigued, could she come and go at will?

I'm having a blast with this show, but I have so many questions! Where's Konoha's family and why isn't she concerned about them in the past? lol. Also I really love the whole 90s bishoujo game industry setting going on, brings back so many good memories of the first visual novels I got to play when I was younger.

Now I'm really intrigued about that twist at the end. Is she going to be able to travel back in time as she pleases? or meeting certain requirements? How about meeting the guys in 2023? That would be sooo interesting. Looking forward to next ep

"Absolute peak"

I'm delighted to have a whiny goofball character like Konoha. They're so fun and set the right tone for this anime with old school flair.

This is getting more and more interesting. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this anime. Since I'm something of a wannabe programmer, I'm of course celebrating the title. The characters are cute, you learn a bit about old computer technology and the plot quickly captivates you. You almost have the feeling of being part of the development team.🖳✨

Hehe yep, the first thing you do as a stranded person in time is develop a bishoujou game.😅

I really thought that she was just trying to get used to the new situation and that the time travel aspect might not be picked up again until the end of the season - but that just happens in episode 2!! Now I'm really excited to see what direction this will take.😍

@Heiize Considering every good anime plot, all of the protagonist's parents always died in car accidents (lol), perhaps this explains Konoha not even considering looking for them. Back in 1992 her parents must be in high school and maybe don't even know each other yet, she might have a good chance of finding them if she remembers where her grandparents' house was... but I wouldn't recommend her going there if she didn't want to face some of the problems Marty McFly had.😅

If she can go back and forth from the past, I think it will make the story much more interesting, but she meeting the team in 2023 could be difficult, firstly because at that time they already live that "healthy" work routine, if they still alive, they must be destroyed lol

I already love the OP and ED for this show!

Happy to see Akisato get along with the crew while learning how to draw on a 1990s computer was an experience for me to watch. I've always felt fascinated with the times and thier technology to make games at that time was interesting to see.

Hope to see more of that soon, once Akisato figures out how to get a coma to time-travel again (imagine it was all just a dream lol).

@luinthoron So if that copy of Doukyuusei took her to the year and month of its release, wonder if Kanon and Comic Party can take her to mid-1999, or Sengoku Rance to 2006.

Also, I wonder how much truth there is to this statement. Did she change anything during her trip back, or was it always that way?

@LuisSV23
Seems a bit more like Erased, in that she doesn't have control over when she travels.

Also, I'm probably reading too much into this, but Doukyuusei seems to have disappeared between episode 1 and 2:

From a modern rock-bottom game developement company, to a similar one back in the day, Konoha just can't take a breather.

Being in 1992's Akihabara, Konoha can't exactly have any other place to go, so she goes back to the game development company Alcohol Soft to request for the programmer Mamoru's help, Of course, how would 90s era people understand what Konoha is trying to say in modern day terms, though her experience as an illustrator holds up...barring that her iPad doesn't have any battery in it. Instead, concept/line artist/CG illustrator Kaori allows her to work in the company, though that task is given to the programmer to show the ropes. But forget aout it, Konoha has to get used to old ancient technology to paint her modern illustrations, like a good ol' mouse and Paint.

Konoha tries, but clearly, she's suffering from an existential crisis from her modern techniques being useless, so Mamoru, Meiko and Kaoru teach her all they can to get used to the craft. Her and Mamoru don't exactly get along, but they get used to each other fast as Mamoru whizz away at being a programmer thinking that his job is worthless. That is where Konoha's futuristic theme comes into play, that she promises that Akihabara will transform into a Bishoujo haven (and indeed that was right).

With that, Alcohol Soft's first Bishoujo game is complete, though Konoha still has aways to go...and within a moment, she's back in her own time...?

The ED is like a throwback to the golden era of Bishoujo games, it's good.

I don't understand why the subs were trying to force the term "time travelled" when "time leap" is not hard to understand at all and could be written as "time leaped" or "a time leap" and it makes the dialogue make no sense to change to "time travelled" when that guy was like "time slip?" since later on the term "time traveller" was used so surely he should have understood her without having to guess the meaning of what she said when you change the dialogue around like that if you only payed attention to the sub and not what clearly was said, this would be even more messed up in a dub if it used the same dialogue. Such pointless change.

Using a mouse for dithering by hand? Now, I havent done much digital art with dithering done by hand, just tried once but I am pretty sure that's the hard way. Using the keyboard arrows for mouse movement is faster and more precise to do entire rows of pixels diagonally drawn. I doubt computers back then lacked that ability to move the mouse with the keyboard.

Lanz said:

Not to anyone that isn't into reverse engineering technology because that only is apparent it's future technology if it was in working order but having no power and no way to charge it from a lack of a compatible charging cable and power converter there is nothing to show. It just looks like a hunk of junk or a weird toy which would impress no one.

Oh, the past is not so friendly with the artists from nowadays, eh xD

Konoha will need to give her best with what she has, and painting with the mouse is surely hard. Nice to know there is so much that can be done with only 16 colors!

They finally ended their bishoujo game but what even happened...? This time leap was unexpected.

@CottonModem I am not surprised. Even considering Konoha to be a hardcore fan of Bishoujo games, she is used to plenty of hardware computing power, resources and portability, high DPI input peripherals, GUI, 24-bit color and software like Adobe Photoshop, which does Floyd-Steinberg dithering. It is easy to forget the 1990's hardware and software.

it's pretty unlikely someone would know what dithering is unless they were very specifically into making pixel art, you need to have a pretty good eye for color to do it. it's dark magic that you kinda avoid unless you need to use it or want to flex.

someone technical must also be in the loop for this show because it gets some details right:

-the OP is named 65535, which is the maximum value of an unsigned 16-bit integer (0xFFFF)

-the code they're writing is mostly correct x86 assembly, with a caveat. in 16 bit code the general purpose registers are named AX/BX/CX/DX, what they use in the show are the extended 32-bit versions EAX/EBX/ECX/EDX. epson did build a 32-bit PC-98, but in the show they explicitly use the NEC PC-9801DA, which should be 16 bit.

Chick's voice is definitely way too high. It's starting to grate on my nerves. Without much effort she talked her way into actually working in that little office, but none of them actually leave the place? They all live there? Where do they shower lol
I was questioning whether 16bit was even being used widely that long ago, but seeing the actual illustrations- oh yea, I remember those. Sure did color stuff on my old computer using single mouse clicks, pixel by pixel. When finally started drawing my own characters, the method was the same you drew on paper plain white and scanned it in, then layered over the top with the color. I think I did that for the last time in a more modern version of photoshop in 2009.
Next episode I wanna see her draw something lol
