Hard disagree on that. Having an actual past and life experience makes for a much more interesting protagonist than "blank slate #256668" (who of course can't talk to girls). The subtle developments are much more interesting, than overly dramatically giving a speech about the power of friendship or whatever. |

| Kaburagi Kotetsu from Tiger & Bunny is nearing 40s Tsurumi Tokushirou is over 40 most definitely but damn he is great Andy the Undead was 200 years old but after the time skip he is pushing is 4.5 billion years old. Victor is Andy's alter ego and the original undead is around 455 billion years old. He has seen the universe being remade 100 times now. Fuuko Izumo is also 4.5 Billion years old. |

Even though no ones age is ever completely disclosed in "Jormungand", Two of my favorite characters from this franchise are likely over the age of 30 when you specifically look at their back stories... "Sofia Valmer" has to be over 30 when when she has over a decade of military experiences under her belt. I doubt they just simply give people in the "Finnish Rapid Deployment Force" officers positions to inexperienced teenagers and that would be just the tip of the iceberg. Reading up on other Characters in the "Jormungand" universe most of their back stories are too expansive to be anything other than being at least over the age of 30 for any of it to be believable.  The same thing goes with "Karen Lo". It's never specifically stated how old "Karen Lo" actually is in the Anime or the source material. Though, she can't be anything but someone who is over the age of 30 since her accumulated experiences just from her back story alone wouldn't add up right if otherwise. "Flora Nanadan" is definitely in her 30s from "Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar". If she is the mother of "Maria Nanadan VII" she would have had to have given birth to her before she was even a teen if she wasn't at least 30. |

| Anime really does seem to have a bias against characters aged 30+. Alicia from Aria should be close to that age considering how she's portrayed in the story as a mature and experienced woman but she's supposedly only 19 years old, geeze. The Furukawas from Clannad have to be at least 30. After all, their daughter is 19. Those two are a trip and always made me laugh. John Tousana from Erin is also a very memorable character. |
