I genuinely think that all anime should be CGI instead of 2D. 2D animation makes everything look flat and boring, while CGI makes everything look 3D and entertaining. If all anime was CGI instead of 2D, there would be a lot more high ratings and more anime fans too. Also there's no limits to using CGI, while there's a lot of limits when it comes to 2D. Thankfully there's been more CGI anime coming out recently, hopefully there'll be way less 2D anime in the future.

You definitely comes from American Cartoon Community to level 3d animation as anime.

Please don't watch if you can't n identify what truly anime means...

First of all the anime word is come form word "animation" it's means animating a drawing or photo and most of drawing is 2D not 3D and if you want a CGI you can watch tv series that uses CGI.

And I genuinely think that if you genuinely think that all anime should be CGI then you should go back to watching Pixar movies like Boss Baby, don't ruin anime.

Just to be clear, OP wants every anime to look like this

it inevitable anyway (Thanos) since there is an Animator Shortage Crisis going on due to low pay and long hours of work so who wants to have a job like that

so ye the solution for the anime industry is more 3DCG anime for the lack of 2D animators

Could you explain how 2D animation makes everything look flat and boring. Could you explain how CGI makes everything look entertaining, I don't thinking calling it 3D justifies you saying it's good. Could you explain the limits to using 2D animation. And could you list some anime that are fully CGI that you enjoy because I'm sure everybody here could name 50x more that they believe to be better in terms of visuals. I can only think of Beastars and Land of the Lustrous.

Indeed mate. CGI makes everything look 10 times better. The utter quality and complexity of CGI is far more superior than that of 2d. It takes less time to make, therefore it positively affects the animators who have a family to feed. Oh, you don't like CGI? How apathetic of you! You don't care about the animators at all! "I genuinely think that all anime should be CGI instead of 2D."

No, you don't.

You made an account for the lulz to shitpost, but in turn you made the most cookie cutter copy paste bait. I'd be down for bait like "moe anime causes AIDS/are gay/etc, don't watch them", "anime is the ONLY reason that depression exists", "anime is not better than western cartoons", etc. You have so much godly or fun bait to work with here. But, you chose something that is done here almost every single day (I don't know, I'm not here every day LOL).

I think it will rile up somebody anyway, even if they know it's bait. That's the funny thing about bait.

Really personal preference... the cgi anime I've watched that are legit anime have kinda sucked, but hey thats just me. I think a thing that makes 2d animation so wonderful is its simplicity. While that might be a pretty big generalization because of all the different styles out there, it's just enjoyable to consume entertainment that looks nothing like reality lol

Many of those are 2D tho.
On the other hand Ex-Arm should be dream come true for the OP. Even the 2D objects in it are putted in 3D baclground, thus looking like cardboard cutouts - cool!

No I dont’t think that all anime should be made with CGI. 2d animation still has its merits . It is a shame that 2d animation is like a forgotten art in america. Disney is not even trying to make a 2d movie nowadays. I don’t want the same happening to anime industry

However, there is a strong case for hand-drawn animation, that you just can't beat in every case.
Good CGI anime is too far and few, while hand-drawn anime are great but are very labor intensive.

if you have seen anime like beserk and ex-arm you should know why most (read: everyone) dislikes CGI. Good animated CGI is extremely rare to find. For every well animated CGI anime there are tons that feel alienated and simply weird to watch.

On the otherhand, this is the best clickbait title and thread i've found so far

Then just start watching Chines Anime and you will get what you're asking for.

Based on that you have not completed a single show, you would have around 2-3 years worth of content.

CGI can accomplish more dynamic camera angles and can save time on a complicated project.

2D animation can easily translate stylistic elements and is a lot more controllable on a digital workspace.

Imo, shows like Houseki no Kuni look really great in CGI in comparison to it's 2d form. Mappa's CGI titan's arguably look horrific and severely simplified from Wit's titans. It really comes down to which medium is more effective for a specific show, not all shows are going to look great in CGI.

Good CGI anime is too far and few, while hand-drawn anime are great but are very labor intensive.

That's like looking at Your Name as the typical standard of animation in anime. Beastars and Houseki no Kuni are exceptional examples of CGI. I do however, think that CGI can be amazing if it's not wasted like in the new Ex-Arm shit stain that has graced us this season. I hope more animation companies choose to follow the path laid out by studio orange, though I don't want 2D animation to be left aside.

All mediums have the positives and negatives. What's important is taking advantage of those aspects and using them to the fullest.

I absolutely agree.
And even then Studio ORANGE doesn't go full CGI, there are a lot of moments where it's just regular old hand-drawn animation in both Beastars and Houseki no Kuni. However, they do it so well that you cannot tell at all.

I also think what MAPPA is doing with CGI in AoT Final Season is pretty good, while I prefer the hand-drawn animation, the CGI isn't bad at all, it's done extremely well.

And then there's Ex-Arm... less said about it the better, I suppose.
