Well, the last chapter. We get to see an epilogue after the events and a time skip at that. Looks like Jin managed to be locked behind bars and a lot of years has passed. It's nice to see Kyun still committed to Jin despite what happened. His mom probably won't be able to recover. I'd say this was pretty decent despite the lack of dialogue. It was quite a page turner as well so it didn't take too long to finish.

The ending was alright but could of definitely have been better. It would have been sweet to see Jin start an actual family with Kyun, and show what kind of father he turned out to be.

I totally agree with #3, changed my 10 to a 9 after that.

The whole "manga" was purely amazing, no regrets spending few hours in a row reading this non stop (2h30/4h?)

I read this all in one sitting... man that was so good! I wish there was more depth on the relationship with Jin’s mom..... I felt I would have been more interested in the relationship with the father and more closure on why she was left alive maybe.! But yes I enjoyed this a lot

Hmm, the ending could have gone more in-depth, but other than that, this was near perfect. Loved everything about it.

One of the better psychological thriller series I've read so far. Overall very entertaining, though the ending feels very lackluster compared to the rest of the series.

Still a solid 8/10 though, dad is probably the second best Joker ever.

I don’t even like this genre, but this is special. I wish there was more about the father, but the love his father had for his son even though he was a disgusting person was remarkable. 10/10 enjoyment.

I feel like this show lacked a little bit of actual depth, with how weird that may sound considering the amount of dialogues we have, and the character development. I felt like that kissing scene even tho it was very fun to see and you get that satisfaction feeling, I simply felt like it was too early but that's not my main case. I also think Jin is way too mentally stable considering a kid who went through all that. He only panics when he thinks of his dad killing others, or gets flashbacks here and there. But in reality in my opinion, maybe I missed something but he's fairly ok for a kid who's been bullied for years, a father who does not even treat him like a son. He also opened to others relatively quick if you look at the horrible things he had to say, like would you confess these things to manny kim if you were in his shoes? I wouldn't be able to, I know. How does he still trust people? I kind of understand kyun, it was his love but manny? how? . Jin was an accomplice to murder since a kid, he was bullied throughout the years harshly, he thought of his father as an actual demon and probably felt choked, by reality, probably feeling VERY lonely at times. His personality and mental state seem very robotic to me.

Honestly, loved the entire series....of course, it was quite unique of a premise which was a major factor as to why it was such a page turner.....you just could not wait to know what happened. I personally did not completely get those final chapters. Like am i supposed to interpret that Jin's father was a good father all along, just had a non-conventional and subtle way of showing it but that contradicts the way he was shown the entire way through the webtoon. Well....the ending also was a nice and warm ending to a mostly dark, suspenseful, thriller and horror story which really increased the impact.

Good ending, could have told more.... expecially about the father or why he become such murderer...? we should have seen more of his POV.

I also don't quite like the MC, i just find it hard to believe in some cases he's extremely naive, easily trusting... (and stupid), it actually makes sense why he was still alive till now because his father didn't actually harbor anything against him but we have a glimpse he was an accomplished murder since he was a kid, a cold brutal one, but it appeared right now he's so normal mentally, idk if he was actually healed over time i found that pretty weird and inconsistent.

That defeats the purpose. The whole point of his father is that some people are just evil and regardless of their situation they will still make those choices.

No, his father is not just "evil" lol, he's sick, he's also caring towards his kid.

That was an interesting read for sure! I thought it was strange that his father wasn't killing him given all the chances, but regardless the leading guess was that he just wanted to "play around" like the sick bastard he was. It's not unusual for psychopathic serial killers to prolong things if they're interesting enough. A fine ending.

Give an anime adaptation, Japan! Instead of those God of High Schools and Tower of Gods!

This is, without a single doubt, a thrilling page-turner that kept me hooked from start to finish! I've been looking for a read that centers on a serial killer for a while now and this gave me exactly what I asked for and added even more things I liked into the mix.

The only thing that could've made this better is if it was longer and took more time to get in-depth into the story and the characters more but I'm thoroughly satisfied anyway. I'm very glad that Kyun and Jin were able to have a happy ending together after all ♡

After reading bad ass rushed endings i'm finally reading a good ending.
At the beginning i wasn't enjoying that much but oh boy, it went amazing pretty fast.
The ending for me is the cherry on top of the cake, oh god the author sure knows how to give mixed feelings. You spent the whole story thinking that his father hates him but in the end it's the oposite, he loves him. For him having his son enjoying the thing he loves so much was what motivated him to be the way he is, all he wanted was his son to continue "playing" with him.

This last chapter was just the perfect last pages to fill my heart, happy knowing they will have the happy life they deserve. I could very well do the count to make sure the time he will be "jailed" but i'm too lazy.
8/10 was enough but this end and all the mixed feelings deserves a solid 9/10

I’m barely a manga reader but I’m glad to have come across this Manhwa. I had lots of “woahs” and “huhhhhhh” moments. I will say I wish the motives of Jin’s dad were explored a bit more because he comes off as a character that’s evil for the sake of being evil. But ig there’s people out there in real life who are just as insane as Jin’s dad is portrayed.

7/10 for me definitely a great and short read.

To be honest, if a second season of Bastard is made, this could be a real good plot.
How Jin cope up in jail, did his inner demons let him live in peace, what happened after he met Kyun after getting released from jail. Moreover, a real good plot can be while portraying his role as father in future. Does his past comes back to haunt him, and the story can be made real fucked up if their kid turns out to be a sociopath too...

The ending was great, the only thing I wish for was seeing the two love birds reunited. Other than that, I disagree with the people saying that the dad should've gotten a backstory to why he was a killer. He literally explained that it was like sleeping or eating for him. Clearly you guys haven't watched Dexter hahahaha Sometimes it just be like that.

That would be lame. Coz it had lot of things and would be boring..sure it would be tough but it will get through it..but all and all it was a really good manga

well Duh. The robotic wwy he feels emotions is to show how he was affected by living with his fathers. Because ounce he learned that what his father was doing wws wrong, he couldn't do anything about it. So he numbed himself so that he wouldn't think about it that much

Really loved the ending, even though jins dad is a terrible person, it was kind of sad that he killed himself holding that artwork (at least for me!). all in all i really enjoyed reading 'bastard', the plottwist in the end was really surprising, too. i didn't expect jins dad to actually care for jin.

Why the fuck am I crying at the death of the dad he's a fucking murderer, he has killed countless people, I'm hating myself for thinking that I didn't want him to die.... why did he has to raise his son in a disturbing way despite loving him? WHY?! MY HEART LITERALLY SHATTERED WHEN THE TRUTH WAS REVEALED, THE FACT THAT HE HAS BEEN LOVING HIS SON WHOLEHEARTEDLY AND HAVE BEEN PROTECTING HIS SON ALL THIS TIME.... WHY DIDN'T HE HAVE A SHITTY PERSONALITY TILL THE END?! THE FUCK KINDA TWIST WAS THAT? WTF AUTHOR?

Ugh..... my heart is literally aching right now...

I really loved the entire manhwa EXCEPT for the epilogue, for me just doesn't make sense Jin being arrested if he was groomed into commiting the murders by his dad. The right sentence should be psychological treatment in freedom.
I also really didn't like the whole "I'm waiting for you" stuff, in general they could just -not- do a timeskip...
If I ignore the epilogue and stick with 93? 10/10.
If I consider it: 7/10

KYUN : If you see me now, that weak heart of yours will probably explode. You should consider yourself damn lucky to have me. Hahaha!

"I can finally see you next year. I hope that you don't change your mind in the meantime."

+1 for the good ending.

Hard agree - kid was groomed into being an accomplice, but he also never killed anyone. The epilogue kinda left me a little meh, plus, how long passed anyways? 2 years?

Just glad they ended together and happy, plus he cut his hair! I still wish it hadn't felt so rushed, and we could've seen the aftermath, plus seeing them actually together.

it was a nice story but i would say that he got it easy, that jin, for all we know, he could have been an accomplice to tens of murders, and yet he just had to spend some jail time to go out just in time to reunite with his now college student girlfriend, he is an utter piece of shit that even when fully aware of the nature of his acts, acts which he enjoyed despite his best efforts to convince himself that this wasnt the case, he still choose to hide the truth and to continue with the slaughter to preserve himself

great ending to a really amazing series. i was worried for a bit about the ending. i feared it would be too idealistic and jin would get off scotch free but i also worried they would just throw him in prison forever and ruin any kind of satisfying ending. i think this ending was the best of both worlds... jin was punished for his actions but was also able to have his happy ending with kyun too... definitely a near perfect ending.
