I see, so it's basically because of bad direction and poor choice of voice actors. Well that makes sense, there are a lot of adaptations that have been treated the same way as the two you mentioned. It's probably because they try adding something new and unique to it which results in a major fuck up XD.

I agree, no wonder the quality of the animation also degraded with those fully compressed sequels lol. I'll never understand how they managed to compress 181 chapters into 24 episodes XD.

Oh so you haven't read the manga yet i see. I was around chapter 360 the last time i read the manga as far as i remember and then i just thought of putting it on hold as it was kinda hard to follow because of the long text lines(also i was new to manga that time :P) but i'll probably continue reading it soon.

I see, i have heard great things about Nana. I might as well give it a try someday, the thing is i don't get much time to watch anime so that's why i don't prefer watching many too shows at once and these days i barely watch any, as you can see how my last anime entry was in april. I enjoy reading mangas since they can be read anywhere haha.
Coming back to the author, what is the difference between the two works?(Nana and Paradise Kiss). I might watch both if i find it interesting.
That's true, a director can really break or make a show. For example i really liked the Tokyo Ghoul manga but i can't say the same for the anime due to it's poor direction :P

For the 8th time?! damn, i have rewatched Hunter x Hunter 2 times as of now lol. Might watch it again this year but considering you rewatched it 8 times makes sense why you love it so much XD.

Oh so it was a childhood show for you too then! I've never watched it in Japanese before, did you enjoy it as much as the English version? I'm so in love with it that I'll probably never end up trying it not gonna lie, it would just be so jarring after hearing the other voices for the last decade. As for Korra, I only very vaguely remember watching the first and maybe some of the second season before dropping it and never picking it back up. It didn't have nearly the same charm as the original in my opinion, but I can appreciate what it tried to pull off. Didn't even know it had more than 3 seasons ngl. I also don't remember Zaheer but he sounds interesting. Honestly, I'd say Ozai was probably the weakest written character in the series, but it still worked so well somehow, it made his takedown super satisfying since he was SUCH an irredeemable asshole lmao.

Absolutely, I will never understand how people try to justify the actions of the Phantom Troupe or Hisoka because they're just fucked up. Obviously, it's fine to love their characters- I do too obviously- people who act like a sad backstory or something reverses all the things they did are umm...interesting individuals to say the least. The HxH villains really are something else though, all of them are so good in their own way.

I agree that Greed Island is a really good arc, and I would also disagree with people who think it hurts the rest of the series. It was REALLY important for both Gon and Killua's growth, had a super fun concept, and ofc the iconic dodgeball match! The things that made it not as high were mostly that Genthru is my least favorite villain in the show and I'm just not a huge 'training arc person' (same with Heaven's Arena), but I must say I liked both of those arcs a lot more on my second watch. I really enjoy the auction part as well and didn't even know people had issues with it not gonna lie. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed every arc in the show, even the ones as the bottom

I can't remember most of the specific episode numbers not gonna lie, so I don't have many favorites I could map out! And it's okay that your response is long, it's something I MUCH prefer to small talk- I just love it when people seem really passionate about what they're saying ^^ Props to you for retyping and even expanding it!

I had no idea it was getting more content, I'm actually gonna go check that out because I'm super curious now ah~ thank you for letting me know! Was the show something you discovered more recently, or was it a show you watched as a kid?

Chimera ant arc was really great, and I'd say it was my 2nd favorite in the show for sure. I did really miss Kurapika, Leorio, the Phantom Troupe, Illumi, and even Hisoka (but I also hate him??) but they introduced SO many really great new characters that helped make up for that. And I agree that 131 is better than 47 even though I absolutely adore both, my favorite scene in the series though would be the 'Requium for Uvogin', it was just way too cool. Also really loved every time Meruem and Komugi were together on screen, they were always highlights too. But our rankings are pretty different which is really interesting- with mine being: Yorknew > Chimera Ant > Election > Hunter Exam > Greed Island > Heavens Arena.

Yeah it would honestly make way more sense to just put them in order but I was trying to keep them at least semi-color cohesive :'D

Rewatching it with different friends sounds like a ton of fun! The only show I've rewatched that many times is The Last Airbender. Also has everyone you watched Hxh with ended up enjoying it?

I get you! Even though I only watched it for the first time a year ago I just started my 2nd rewatch which is crazy to think about. Also I have to ask, are you someone who prefers the Yorknew or Chimera Ant Arc? Personally Yorknew is probably my favorite arc in all of anime- at least that I've seen.

YES OFC- HxH is tied for my very favorite anime along with AOT, so it's a special series to me even though I only just watched it last year. It's great that you're so passionate about it! When did you first watch Hxh?
