THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Nice to see Eiji and Ash reconnect again after being saved. It felt like a slower paced episode compared to a few of the others but important for building their relationship.

Ash also seems kinda sad and scared about everything that happened so far while Eiji comforts him. As for the story, I feel like Ash is becoming more clever in making his moves and being more careful now while playing mind games.

Neat episode.

I bet most of the comments are going to be guys complaining that this episode was too gay or the episode was too slow.

This episode was super cute though I'm sad that they couldn't show Ash and Eiji giving each other the middle finger.

And also, in the manga, when Ash says "it doesn't have to be forever" Eiji says "Forever", I'm really surprised they took that out.

The final scene in the episodes was awesome, cool Ash is my fave.

I think it's nice to have some downtime after how dramatic the last few episodes have been. This is the only time we'll have an episode like this, the action and drama will pick right back up.

I was screaming all the time. I loved this episode. Ash will always be my favorite of the whole series. I love everything about him.
I loved how them are so worried about each other and comfort each other because of Shorter's death. Also, Ash' crying this time is more heartkbreaking.
Dad Max finally makes his appearance, and Ash reveals a sassy side who is not only in his physical appearance.

I loved this episode. They animated scenes I was sure they're not going to. Even though they censored "'This one';'That one'", there was no Nadia and Eiji didn't say "Forever." it was such a good episode! First of all now it's clear that Ash is a genius. And that Eiji is very important for him and vice versa. Actually, it's probably my favorite story arc because we see just how intelligent Ash really is. And he's wearing glasses! Seriously, I loved this episode.
But now I wonder...

Isn't it sad how many people waved this series off just cause it has yaoi tag on it? Never once was that even a concern to me....my attention was mostly on the story and characters themselves, and this show does VERY well in those departments.

Actually, it just occurred to me that it won't be an even 12/12 split for the cours. The first cour will have 13 episodes and the second, 11 episodes. So the fight will probably happen in episode 13 and the opening will change for episode 14.

A cool down episode like this is definitely welcome after all the shit that's been going down over the last few episodes. Ash fucked Golzine over by taking money from him, and that final scene...oh man, that was cool. Also, I liked the friendly interactions between Ash and Eiji, they've gone through a lot lately so it's good to see them laughing and casually hanging out.

I think it's even more sad when you consider that this show isn't even actual yaoi.

Ash and Eiji opening up to each other was just as soft, if not more, than in the manga.

The end scene in the subway was so nicely executed, I loved it.

This episode was so good, Ash and Eiji shared so many intimate moments, they are, yet again, closer than ever! That (good) childhood memory, that talk about Eiji's family, the tofu sandwiches, etc, there was a lot to love here, a lot of fluffy after all of that suffering, and explosions, and I loved it. Especially when Eiji said that he would always be by Ash's side if he wanted, and he did ask him to remain by his side, and it was great. Oh, and I liked how he told Eiji about what he decided to do with Shorter's body, it was for the best.

I'm also a bit more hopeful with the big picture now too, I mean, it's still pretty bleak, but Arthur can't be a more fearsome foe than Dino, it doesn't matter if he has his family under his orders, he will never defeat Ash, and Ash is now pretty much rich, I loved how he hit where it hurts, and now Dino is pretty much neutralized for a while, without all of that money, and with the media all over him. It was really smart of Max, and Ibe to report what happened, but it's so silly for Dino to leave things in Arthur's hands, doesn't he have anyone capable on his side? Well, maybe I'm underestimating Arthur a bit, but let's see, I can't wait for the next one.

I wish I could call Max "daddy" too, no fair. lol

Aww, they skipped the clueless cops questioning him and Max claiming to be his dad scene. It gave context to him calling Max "dad" from then on. I knew something was gonna get cut since there was so much to cover but I guess it was more for pacing. I am sad they left out Eiji's answer of "forever" to Ash. Next episode should cover my favorite arc in a single episode which I hope gets named "Boom, Headshot".

A slower paced episode but I really liked it. Ash is becoming more interesting and so is his relationship with Eiji.

Also that story about Ash being afraid of pumpkins lol

Y'all this episode cleared my skin, watered my crops, single-handedly brought be back to life--
The change of pace was really welcome, I'd argue even necessary at this point and the comedic moments were legit heart-warming and funny while still feeling natural. Just, this is exactly what I needed. Now I'm ready to be stabbed in the back once again with more suffering and pain.

The whole time Ash was telling his pumpkin story I kept thinking "oh god what other horrible thing happened to you" but then it was literally just 'I looked into the mirror once and it was the most terrifying thing I have ever seen' and ngl that one really got me. How precious can you get.

They didn't but we're on episode 11 now and there are still two episodes left in this month. The Fall season starts in October and that's when we usually see OP/ED changes for ongoing series.

Man, I really loved this episode... Ash finally being able to let his guard down around Eiji, and be open and honest with him about his pain, which is something he can’t really afford to do with any of his gang, really warmed my heart. I loved the playful banter between them both. It was hilarious and adorable. And I was actually surprised by the whole ‘daddy’ Max meeting that followed, wherein we learn just how much of a chess master Ash is, and has been, all along. Damn, he’s good.

I couldn’t friggin’ believe Dino actually left everything in Arthur’s hands, though. What a dumb old fart. But, I can only just bet Arthur’s going to use that to his full advantage, in trying to track Ash and his posse down. Which makes it hilarious that Ash’s new digs are right across the street from their business headquarters. Ash is not only good, he’s got some brass balls, too. 😆

Alright, gotcha. It is a pretty good likelihood that they'll do that due to your reasoning stated.

My guess is that maybe they'll have no OP for ep 13 (like ep 1). Ep 13 is when I also think they'll have the fight

Though they don't have too much to work with until the fight occurs, especially with the pace of the show itself. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Now that you mention it, I think a couple things cut from this episode will be placed in the next episode like
So no doubt they have quite some material to work with.

This episode screamed romance in a subtle way and I must say I enjoyed it. I see Ash is getting the ball rolling on Dino to even crumble his finances like that, it sure hit where it hurts with the big man to want to kill him himself. Arthur is really overjoyed to be left in charge, how I loathe the bastard.

Finally we're getting more focus on Ashs and Eijis relationship, that was cute.

But I'm up for some action now, the last scene was absolutely savage.

Personally, idk if that's something that the anime will showcase because from what I remember, it seemed unimportant and redundant. But who knows, perhaps you are correct, and they'll showcase that in the future

You got it right. I am thinking this next episode will include all of that since their involvement in the case becomes a plot point when
Hopefully we get too see more of Charlie and his relationship. Episode 12 would be the best time to do it before the showdown scene in the opening credits.

What a nice move Ash did this time, Golzine was really angry.
Absolutely well done the scene with Ash and Eiji.

Eiji is a good boy, I don't really know how he fits in this world, the danger is constant and the survival instinct is in the skin.

That was really cute. Ash finally opened up about everything weighing down on him to Eiji. This kinda ep was definitely needed after the last few. Ash was total badass at the end. He's actually really smart. I'm guessing in the original he didn't plant a malware on Dino's PC, so I wonder how that went down.

I was looking forward to watch this episode cuz I loved so much these cute moments in the manga. I was afraid concerning the adaptation but beside some details I think the tvshow is very good.

Dat episode took the time to develop the relation between Ash and Eiji, and everything seems so natural,realistic... i loved it. Even if I know the next, i'm impatient to watch it. ( and to read some reactions about it ha ha)

So damn good!!!
Love the scenes between Eiji and Ash even though it felt a little bit rushed (there are things where +3 min can make a difference ;) ) and they could have left the middle fingers from the original manga scene in it.

And Ash manipulating the stock market / bank transfers ... awesome! that was an episode where one could very well see how Ash has gotten is leadership and why he's not just a "underaged boy playing gangster"

Bonus + :

while it is annoying that they keep cutting out random lines seeing this episode animated and with voice acting really brought back the emotions I had when I read the manga and like I think eijis voice actor is doing a great job. i really love both of them and it’s so heartwarming to see ash feeling safe and able to be vulnerable with someone for probably the first time ever. maybe ppl forget he’s just a really traumatized kid

I never really thought that the fact that Eiji and Ash were in a relationship was ever really necessary to the story, well episode 11 proved me wrong. If episode 10 was an episode where we mostly see sweet interactions between Yuri and Victor from Yuri on ICE then Episode 11, at least so far is an episode filled with sweet interactions between our main two.

The show much needed a relax/slow paced episode and thankfully it appeared at right time after long run of violence episodes. Personally I think Ash is growing into more likable character. There was quite strong BL vibes presented here (must be lucky for shojo fans..) but eh at this point the show got me to used to it :|

I feel so far the most dark twist of this show so far that Yut Lung having the B.fish drug. He looks calm and knows what he is doing and makes him even more dangerous than any other villain on this show imo.

I love how this series, and especially this specific episode, sticks so close to the manga. This episode was so endearing and a perfect one to balance the action and fast pace we usually see and it really helped build the characters and their relationships. We got to know more about Ash's character and what he really feels for Eiji and that's just so loving to see, especially when you think about what he has been through. But I also like how the ending make a clear transitioning into the next arc since that's, in most cases, a very hard thing to accomplish.

As always (at least until proven false) 5/5 rated episode (as series like who could I possibly fool)
