| It's nice to see Chise finally learning magic and and applying it to certain jobs or requests. It feels like she's finally beginning to move forward with her development. The other apprentice is cute, especially because she too has a thing for her master. Everything else was kind of boring. Elias's transformation was very Ghibli-esque to me, In fact, I see a lot of similarities with Ghibli in this show; animation-wise especially. |
| I honestly don't get the appeal of this show, it's complete garbage. It just appeals to the people that are sexually frustrated with themselves. I'm surprised the MAL concensus decided to get this show past a 6. Like literally, can someone explain why one would even like this? If you tell me you got a animal bone fetish or something, you can fuck off right now. This show is cringy, the main heroine is so boring, the magician guy is a sexist pedophile.... you would really need to be deprived and lonely to like a show like this. |

| No wonder Elias would be so angry! I mean he paid a fortune to get Chise from that auction after all! Anyways, the voice acting has been excellent in this anime so far. Well, I know most of them are veterans but still. Really impressed by Tamura Mutsumi, Murase Ayumu and Uchiyama Kouki's voice acting in this episode. |

| I've been waiting for that dog. And he seems cool. Definitely looking forward to seeing him join the main cast. Didn't expect that impish little bastard from the last arc to factor into the present day story so soon. Much less run afoul of Elias so soon. I also didn't expect what I can only assume is a Chise fake out death. And Elias going ballistic and showing his true form so soon either. Though surely all of these things had to happen. It ends on such a cliffhanger I haven't much to say about the individual episode. I like how confident Chise has become. As she tends to the dog. And incapacitates his would be kidnapper. I liked how it made the bad guys in the last arc more sympathetic. And wasted little time in doing it. And I liked Elias is monster form at the end. The OST and animation in that scene created a powerful sense of dread. Pretty excited for the next one. |

| That ending... Mad Elias isn't good xD I quite enjoy the fact that whenever they go to a new location, Elias "leaves" Chise by herself so that she can learn everything by herself without him, but when she needs he is always there. |

| I seriously have no idea why people are hating on this show saying that nothing ever happens. Damn that stab to Chise. It was painful to watch. I love the character interactions and the introduction to Black Dog. Guess I now know what happens when you piss off Elias. I didn't think the antagonist would be seen in this episode. What a pleasant surprise. Can't wait to see the next episode!! |

| First he gave her a ring to limit her magic thus prolonging her life and then he tells her he wants to get her a familiar which would consume her magic... like wtf?? Logic? I know those are just details and such but such things always makes me facepalm, destroying the atmosphere. But what bothers me even more is that he told her to not getting excited and be calm all the time... This had to be the worst developement because Chise's character is already so static and bad and her monotonous, emotionless way of speech is starting to irk me. I thought there is some room for developement in the future but with this they just closed all the doors that leads there... How worse can be such writing o_O The second part was good I guess even though someone please kill that brat already, he doesn't work as villain, rather he's weak substitution for one (he's just bad for sake of being bad...) My guess is Ruth would be her familiar in the end (well, seeing OVA, at least he joins them). Wonder if Isabell was her mother, it could be. The ending scene was bit confusedly animated but that transformation in his ultimate rage was kina interesting, seems like Elias just lost it in the moment. That wound would be probably fatal (like girl, you have hole in your chest) and she would die without plot armor but knowing this series clearly magic probably fixes that as magic is ultimate solution for just about everything, magic motherfucker! |

| Finally the big black dog arrives, which was shown in the ending and never showed up in the narration so far, yay! However, the narrative is also interesting for what comes out of the story. Funny and pleasant the characters, excellent the drawings and the soundtrack. |

| I'm guessing Chise will Recover but Idk why she wants to be all nice, maybe thats her instinct. It was trully a great surprise to see Ainsworth turn into his true form but its kinda sad that he has terrible detection to not sense something so clear as day. Hmm Or maybe he is just too relaxed in his own power in which case is a double edged sword. Chise really Needs to get a spirit animal already so they can protect her. |

| That cliffhanger felt like it hurt me, luckily I can continue to the next episode immediately and not deal with that for a week like I had to when I first saw this a couple years ago. Great episode though as a whole, and it's nice seeing Chise learn more about the world of magic, especially how to use it in various manners and experimenting with ingredients too. Plus Elias at the end was going beast mode, literally. Makes his character even more interesting given how he lacks the real understanding of empathy and a human heart in general, but when he saw his apprentice/fiancee be stabbed out of nowhere when trying to protect Renfred's apprentice, shit fucking was about to go down (showing a bit of human emotion there mixed with a beastly desire to get revenge I assume). The music and visuals made the whole episode feel much more effective as a whole in its intensity during the more jaw-dropping serious moments like Chise being stabbed or having her life in danger at times even before that, or during the more mellow moments too. Even liked the little details like creatures being really playful with her when she was studying outside or making potions inside the house in the beginning of the episode, makes that fantasy world feel a lot more alive and real to me in a sense. Can't wait to finish this next episode off immediately. |
