What would you do if you only had 30GB a month to use on anime?

Would you be able to lower the quality of your anime to around 45-65 mb per episode instead of 200+ mb? Do you think you can survive with such a loss in quality and amount to watch?

My family has a computer with unlimited Internet but not as wifi that can be connected to all devices. I have to survive with 2 months without the computer and with 30GB of my own data. I want your opinion of what you would do if such a situation where you cant use over 200GB but instead 30GB. For me, I accepted the fact that I will have a big bill on the end of the month...

Well I mean, how much anime do you watch? you could just restrict your anime watching, and instead read manga as kissmanga uses very little data

I tend to watch anime in 360 or 480p... And yeah most of anime in my drive has 35 MB - 70 MB size each episodes... I watch 720p only if it doesn't have 360p or 480p

So, yeah... I surely can survive lol

Edit: Seems like you watch alot of series at times... you can only pick anime you like the most, and you have no choice other than lowered it,

From 12 am - 6:30 am I watch 2x of 12 episode season or 1x 24-26 episode season on school days and after school I watch random stuff on phone. On free days I watch over 80 episodes but that is for a 2 month period. After that period I read manga and light novels for about 3.5 months. Im starting my anime watching period so I can't ead manga. What would you do?

You only have to do this for a month?
I dont even have that much data. I sometimes stream anime at the coffee shop or something but most of the time I buy dvds. I think you'll be fine without anime or much anime for a month - after a break you'll probably enjoy it more. Worse comes to worse though you could hang out at a coffee shop or library sometimes or order a series you're pretty sure of from Amazon or something.

Only download the HEVC2 versions of airing anime episodes on nyaa.eu.
They're 100-200mb an episode in 720p and look/sound just as good as the original. The same if you can find any decent size/quality HEVC(265) torrents for full series (it depends on the particular encoder and if they know their stuff).

With episodes of that size, 30GB (make it 25GB because of other general use) is quite a bit of anime.

That or, if i knew i was gonna get downgraded, i'd download a ton of full series beforehand.

Edit: by data, do you mean on your phone? If so maybe just put up with streaming sites for that amount of time, they'll be around 100mb per ep i think, if you don't hit the HD button. Then again, there's ads and shit that'd be eating your data too.

LE: It seems a lot of others here don't have a lot of data usage either, that's interesting.

I'd watch less anime then. 30 gb is 40 or so eps. worth for me. Assuming at the very least, 4 seasonals, that just leaves 2 1 cour anime or 1 2 cour one.

30 gb is more than enough for monthly anime. I actually watching more T.V series and movies than I do anime.

55 season for low quality downloads (not 360p) like http://chia-anime.tv download link that goes from 35MB+. 600MB per lowest absolute lowest quality season.
30 high quality seasons downloads (720p) like at http://GoGoanime.io that can be 2.4+GB per 12 episode season.

I already checked and calculated.

I'd go to Mcdonalds or a public place with free wifi... I'm already resorting to using their free hotspot to downloading my anime (which is about 20Mbps in my area) because Comcast is a shitty company that should go bankrupt already. Cunts.

But it stays alive because it's needed. They may be shitty, but they reach to a lot of places that nobody else does. If you're on comcast, it's prob cuz it's the only ISP avialable.

What are you talking about? Just run it in normal desktop browser mode, and get a torrent application. There's plenty of mobile torrenting apps, especially on android. Use VLC mobile or something.

........SHIT THATS A LOT. And here I thought I watched a lot of anime. Some of the other users said that there were some quality sites to download a metric tonne of anime, so maybe follow their advice? Because the only thing I would do is (depending on what the router + internet service is like) I would hardwire my computer into the router, download a tonne of anime, then load that onto my phone

I'd probably stop watching all the shit shows for the lols. But 30GB is lots, I personally use maybe 40GB on a high traffic month of seasonal anime, so 30GB is more than enough.

I already downloaded 18 GB of anime yesterday. It was one movie I used to watch and four 990x720 episodes. That would be a problem. If I'm lucky, I could download one TV show a month. I like watching movies, though, and they deserve to be watched at higher bitrates.

At 720p, 30GB for a month works out to four episodes a day; I think you'll manage to survive. Do let us know if you die, though.

Easy. Even with all the anime I burn through daily, I think 30GB is relatively generous. Even if I prefer to watch at the best possible quality.

The video bitrate is 7000, not that high. They decided to include two audio tracks, one 2.0 224 kbps and a second 5.1 448 kbps. It's 1.3 GB for almost 25 minutes.

Let's see, if you watch 6 episodes per day,
Then it is (6x30)=180 episodes a month..

30GB = 30x1024 = 30720 mb..

If 180 ep takes 30720,
Then for 1 ep, you get (30720/180) = 170.66 MB/ep average..

That's good enough if you ask me... You just have to switch to encodes from torrent/streams... They have reasonably good quality in 720p even though being around just ~150-180mb in size...
( Not to mention that many people don't even watch 6 episodes per day..)

There are groups that release 1080p anime with ~300MB per episode. That would mean I could watch roughly 100 episodes each month, I don't think I watch that many episodes right now.

Assuming I'd get my full unlimited data back after the couple of months then I would be fine I think. I'd download my airing shows in 480p instead of 720p and I would hold off getting my archive shows. If it was longer than a couple of months then I would go camp out in Mcdonalds for an evening a week and sponge off their free wifi. They actually have reasonably good speeds (600kb/s) for a free service.

1) If it was a temporary condition, I would spend this month watching old low-resolution anime.
Well, in fact, I can probably live a month (or a year) just watching the anime that I never got around to watching, but are already on my hard drive.
2) In the long-term, it will probably make me be a bit more choosy in selecting anime, and maybe downgrade to 480p.
3) But since I'm an adult, I will probably just buy a bigger internet connection.

Lol. Torrenting and streaming uses the same bandwidth, depending on the quality you wanna watch it at. I can download an episode faster than it would take to go to a website and buffer it.
