The focus on humour in this week's short definitely took me a bit by surprise.

Did anyone catch that brief "ME!ME!ME!" reference not far into the video?

Nope, didn't catch it.

The shorts are back, and this one definitely threw me for a loop.

Yeah, I did. It was pretty obvious. Seems like the authors were pissed off that people don't judge all of these AnimeExpo specials equally.

I feel the beginning was a definite reference to Neon Genesis Evangelion which is kinda funny since the last video was a spinoff of the series.

Aside from the basic animation and humor, I must say I couldn't take my eyes off this one because it made me really think. If I was in the place of God could I really do better? It's so easy to judge and forget to appreciate what we already have.

I don't care about all that deep meaning behind this episode, even if it had any. That loli was cute, though indeed a bit annoying.

They aren't equal, though. A lot of them are just messing about.

A bit weird, but the story is interesting. How would we act whether we become the creator?

I´ll never guess I´ll see an anime adaptation of "Adam stvořitel" by Čapek.
You all need to watch Nami.

Alright then ... that was a crazy fast paced short.
I guess I could kinda see the reference to Evangelion as others mentioned.

Being the creator is not a simple thing.

Apparently based on a novel by Karel Čapek. Loved the animation and style. One of my favorites so far.

I was really surprised this episode wasn't directed by Imaishi, or at least key animation by him.

But still probably my favorite short thus far.

Interesting short. It's true that Čapek was visionary for his era and it shows in this episode. There were many references too.

Well, it's kinda funny because I live in Czech Republic and I never seen this play, even though it's featured in many theatres here regularly from time to time.

He has written many great books and plays, R.U.R (from where the word 'robot' originates), White Disease or Krakatit as really good ones for example. But if I have to recommend one book from Čapek, it would be definitely War with the Newts ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_with_the_Newts ), it's one of his latest books written just before the war and the message it carries is very strong even in these days.

That opening was a thing. Wow. They really went all out with that one.

Anyways, so, God is a snarky, narcissistic, perverted, possessive, jealous, fast talking madman. Well now. Um...apparently in this story, God messed up and created the likeness of himself, which ended up being another God, that then created more Gods in his likeness that resulted in bloodshed and destruction in the name of variable amounts of Gods that all originated from a single one anyways, all accumulating to everyone blaming God for all their frustrations and inadequacies. God breaks down crying upon being question why he allowed his creations to suffer and die, to which he claims that it wasn't his fault. Despite this, he'll continue to run the place for who knows why.

At least, I think that's what happened. Mahiro Maeda from Episode 6 returned to do this one. Apparently, it was based on Karel Čapek's novel Adam Stvořitel, where the character Adam tries to destroy the world and replace it with a better one. Huh. I suppose if the animation wasn't as wild and the story as off-the-wall insane, it would have come across as obtuse or arcane to some level.

That's the first time I liked the Animator Expo opening~

I can sense that the Japanese-style humor is strong in this one. The fast talking isn't exactly my cup of tea but it answered the question of why our creator never shows up to us quite well. People can be such ingrates xD

Lilith (the naked loli) was the showstopper of this short ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Felt like something a Freshman film-school student would come up with while going for "edgy" and "deep" points.

And it gave me a headache

Cool stuff. You could see it in a way as similar to animal farm, but where in the book the pigs gain benefits in remaking the old ways, in this short when Adam realized he just re-created the world as it was before, he just acknowledges that he didn't do anything, that in the end he didn't make any change.
