Plus, he's that kind of person who will always fight for justice,so he wouldn't obviously just run away either.. |

| Really liked this episode. The restaurant on the sea reminds me a lot of one place in an old Dreamcast RPG called Skies of Arcadia. You were a pirate crew in that game, and they had this restaurant you could go to called "Gordo's Bistro"... you could even recruit a crew member for your ship there. Although, I think this episode technically pre-dates that game. The game came out in Japan on October 5, 2000. Now I'm curious if they ever made a One Piece RPG. |

| This is NOT my genre of anime. In fact, it's cartoony. But when I was in Japan last summer, my wife's friend gave me a One Piece T-shirt. I had also heard references to One Piece in other anime and read that it was one of the hottest series of all time. So last week, curiosity got the better of me. "Just one episode" I figured. As goofy as it seems, there is a great sense of life with the characters, a sort of integrity that is compelling and the adventures they get into are amusing. So here I am after 20 episodes. This is fun. |
| Johnny and Yosaku reminds us that it's not a pirate show without someone ending up getting scurvy~ It took a surprisingly low effort for him to recover from that zombified state but it was pretty on-and-off anyway. I loved Sanji's intro~ He was so sassy that it's apparent that he's not buying any of Fullbody's pretentious bull. I had thought that he'd put up more of a fight but that's what you get for messing up a passionate chef's food. I wonder how surprised Zeff would be if he found out that trying to saw Luffy's leg wouldn't work because he's rubber. |
