 Dengeki Bunko Magazine has announced that Isuna Hasekura's and Juu Ayakura's light novel Ookami to Koushinryou (Spice and Wolf) will receive a sequel, Ookami to Koushinryou: Spring Log, to commemorate the series' 10th anniversary. The sequel will begin to publish in the magazine's 49th issue, to be released on April 9. An official website for the anniversary will launch on February 10.Ookami to Koushinryou began publishing under the Dengeki Bunko label in February 2006, and it ended in July 2011 with 17 volumes. It was ranked first on the "Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!" list in 2007. It also received a manga adaptation drawn by Hasekura and Keito Koume. The manga began serialization in Dengeki Maoh and is currently on-going. The novel was adapted into a TV anime by Imagin in Winter 2008. It received a second season by Brain's Base in Summer 2009. FUNimation Entertainment licensed both seasons for North American release. Yen Press licensed the series and released the first novel in December 2009. | Yen Press killed translations and Brains Base killed the sequel with its crappy work. Even though I loved the first series I actually feel rather indifferent about the news. It's not like I'll be able to read it and I doubt there will be another season for the anime. Sequel done by the people and the studio from the first season, that would be great news... |
